The Parish House on Union is a historic wedding venue just off the town square in Delphi, IN. Once a Methodist Episcopal Church, it is now available for both ceremonies and receptions. This all-inclusive venue welcomes couples from all walks of life. Soon-to-be-weds can choose an officiant that reflects their personal faiths and beliefs.
Couples have been tying the knot at this Delphi landmark for 150 years. It has hosted many services and celebrations since its construction in 1869. The church can be reached easily by couples and their guests. Located about an hour from Indianapolis, it is housed neatly off the Hoosier Heartland Highway. This unique venue features a detailed gothic exterior. A five-story bell tower adds rich historic character. Inside, the space feels elegant and bright. Cream walls and furnishings offer an airy sense of romance. These modern renovations work beautifully with the church’s original features. When guests arrive, they will first set foot on lovely maple flooring. Stained glass windows and a Tudor arched sanctuary give this space an authentic feel. Guests will be mesmerized by the colorful panes of glass and extravagant altar. High ceilings and arches create a bright, open atmosphere for couples to come together.
This one-of-a-kind venue boasts three stories of event space. A separate banquet area can seat up to 160 guests for dinner. Soon-to-be-weds will have plenty of opportunities to make the venue their own. The team at The Parish House will be on hand to sift through the details. These experienced planners can take care of everything from the food to the flowers. They take each couple’s vision on board to create an unforgettable occasion. This friendly team strives for elegance in every last detail. Their delicate Chiavari chairs and rustic farm tables give guests a charming experience from start to finish. To top it all off, tables will be decked with lovely dinnerware. The Parish House on Union can be found on the National Register of Historic Places. It offers couples a traditional setting to start their next chapter together.

A beautiful setting for our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding reception. Our guests all raved about the food, which was beautiful, plentiful and delicious. All our “special” reques...
ts were carried out perfectly. So grateful for a perfect day!
We got married here recently, and while we did enjoy our day overall due to an amazing photographer and bridal party, I feel compelled to share an honest review so that future coup...
les know what to expect.
Planning was more stressful than it should’ve been due to a lack of communication from the venue. We had to constantly follow up on important details like the seating chart, flowers, and our day-of schedule. There was no clear guidance or initiative from Patty or Lee, which added unnecessary pressure in the lead-up to our wedding.
The day itself came with multiple issues. The food was a big disappointment for many of our guests — some of the vegetables were either burnt or undercooked, some guests compalined their food was cold. Oddly enough, it felt like my husband and I got better quality meals than our guests, which is the opposite of what you'd want at your wedding.
A major issue of the entire experience was the behavior of Patty. She yelled at a guest infront of others over an unopened bottle of alcohol he was gifting us stating it was against their policy, as if he knew what their alcohol policy would be. An hour before dinner, she told me they had changed the pork recipe without informing us — something we had specifically discussed and planned in advance. Right before our ceremony, she also freaked out to me about a chair request for my husband's mother — a conversation that had already been handled with my husband and shouldn't have involved me.
To make matters worse, Patty was heard yelling, swearing, and throwing things in the hallway between the sanctuary and dining room. It made several of us, expecially my husband and his groomsmen, incredibly uncomfortable. I later learned she also spoke poorly about me to my maid of honor, which is completely unprofessional and inappropriate.
These aren't just minor hiccups. They added stress on a day that should’ve been joyful and smooth. After reading other reviews, it's clear that many couples have had similar problems, particularly when it comes to Patty’s behavior.
In order to save composure, I did not go into detail about a lot of the issues we had but do not take working with this venue lightly. We are so happy that other couples seem to have had a wonderful experince which is why we chose this venue but at the end of the day, we were not the priority and we never were. Couples deserve to know both the good and the bad when choosing a venue for such an important day.
Beautiful location, great food, so much fun. Patty and Lee are super knowledgeable and easy to work with.
I am so grateful that I was able to find a venue as easy to work with, thorough, and supportive of my vision as the Parish House on Union was. Patty and her team truly made my drea...
m wedding come to fruition. From the initial call to the Parish House to cleaning up after my wedding, things went so smoothly. There are 2 main reasons why I love the Parish House. Firstly, it is so all-inclusive; the services the Parish House offers makes things so organized and easy. Having in-house catering relieves so much stress and coordination, and the food was so so good! The butternut ravioli was a huge hit. Lee was an excellent DJ, working with my playlists and timing everything perfectly. He also worked very hard to help make the dining stationary exactly how I wanted (down to matching fonts and styles) and to print out my signs. I had guests even tell me that they took home their name cards because they were so cute! Sarah helped so much with day-of coordinating, keeping us all on track. It was really helpful to have people dedicated to making my decor look great and to take it down. The flowers were beautiful and fresh. Patty helped orchestrate my rehearsal, telling us what to do, which helped so much. Providing lunch day-of took one less task off of our shoulders. I even used the bridal salon at the Parish House to order my wedding dress, which was absolutely gorgeous. Patty and Sarah helped me find a dress that truly fit *me* and one that I was proud of wearing on my wedding day. For the few things that were not provided by the Parish House, Patty gave great recommendations that were high quality and cost-effective. The second thing that I appreciated about the Parish House was how hard Patty worked with me to make my celestial wedding theme come to life. She met with me multiple times to try out different decor elements. Patty is an extremely talented designer who has a keen eye for what can make a wedding look classy. I was worried that my celestial theme might look like Halloween decorations, but her ideas for design made my decor look very refined and elegant. Patty was mindful to making every detail fit my vision. She was a wedding designer, coordinator, venue owner, and overall supporter all wrapped into one, and I could not have asked for more. There are so many other details, but I cannot fit them all in this review. I truly don't know how I could have pulled off my wedding without Patty and her wonderful team. All of this might sound too good to be true, but it isn't! I will be recommending the Parish House on Union to everyone I know getting married!
Patty , Lee and Sarah are amazing. They went above and beyond for us on our wedding day. From getting ready till the last dance. Sarah was amazing and was always there and ready if...
we needed anything at all. She made it so easy to just enjoy our day. I had an issue with my wedding dress rubbing me raw and Patty fixed it right before I walked down the aisle. I couldn’t thank them enough for all the hard work they did. I loved the slide show of all our getting ready photos during the dancing and Photo Booth. The food was amazing and I wish I could have taken some home. If I could do it again I would pick this venue in a heart beat. Thank you so much Patty, Lee and Sarah for everything you guys did to make our day one of a kind!!!
Choosing this venue made the wedding planning very easy for us. They have the ability to do ceremony, dinner, and reception all in one spot! Decor options and many things included ...
in the price of the venue, so for me it helped keep my to do list smaller than what it seemed other venues would have been. We had a day of coordinator on site that was absolutely wonderful. Great food and everyone raved about how beautiful everything was. So glad we chose this venue!
I cannot recommend this venue enough!! I had my reception at the Parish House a few weeks ago and I am overly pleased with the whole experience!! Patty is amazing and seemed to o...
ffer literally everything! I don’t think I could have had such a great reception without all that she did. We were able to have a beautiful wedding for a very reasonable price, which was really important to me since I wasn’t wanting to spend $20-30 grand on a wedding. All the staff were very friendly and professional. We used Parish House for catering as well, and the food was great! (Which isn’t usually the case with wedding food lol). I cannot speak highly enough of Parish House!
After touring the venue for the first time and hearing aIl they would do, it seemed too good to be true but I can verify that it was all true and was all fantastic. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. I would also like to give a shout-out to Sarah, venue coordinator, for being a massive help on the day of!
If you are looking for a venue, definitely consider The Parish House on Union, you won’t be disappointed!!!
I cannot state this bold enough, we LOVED working with this venue. During our engagement, we sold two houses, bought a house, renovated it, and bought a car -- all to say the only ...
thing that wasn't stressful was the wedding planning. Patty is fair, willing to work with you and your budget, and did an absolutely fantastic job. I would book her venue in a heartbeat again and so would my guests!
wasn’t able to be with her. The pictures online are gorgeous. Then when you step inside this Venue everything was breathtaking. From the outside to the inside it is absolutely beau...
tiful! I love the decor of the ceremony/reception hall the lighting strung across the ceiling is a great touch. The dinner area is beautifully set up. The area where the girls get ready was such a great place for them to spend the afternoon getting ready. Even the guys area I heard was a hit for them to do what guys do. Patty is so wonderful and sweet. She made planning a breeze. She was very helpful and comforting to the stressed out bride to be. Choosing a place that is already beautifully decorated and having in house catering helped in making the day less stressful. The caters where very professional and the food was delicious. They served chicken Alfredo, it was the best I’ve ever had and now I will crave it for the rest of my life. They had a vegetarian option which I was told was also very good. I would definitely recommend The Parish House on Union to anyone looking to get married in the Delphi/Lafayette area.
