About Us:
The Parker Mill is a historic sawmill wedding venue located in Whittier, North Carolina. This venue has been designed and renovated to specifically cater to essential wedding needs. While it is conveniently located just one mile off of the major highway 74, the structure is comfortably nestled in a private community in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, boasting awe-inspiring views and a serene atmosphere.
At The Parker Mill, you can expect verdant surroundings and tasteful, rustic charm. The beautiful bridal suite and a large and industrial groom's quarters will allow you to prepare for your big day in comfort and style. With many scenic photo opportunities, you will have a magnificent backdrop for your photos. A well-equipped caterer's kitchen and preparation space, outdoor grill area, and multiple ceremony sites suitable for all weather types. Whether indoors or outdoors, your day will be a special one. With plenty of nearby parking, pet-friendly ethos, and wheelchair-accessible facilities, you and your guests will have convenient access to the venue. The peak season for this venue is from late April to early November, but the vast indoor space and open outdoor views allows accessibility all year long!

and it's the upcharge for going off list for a few vendors. While this charge makes sense for these specific type of vendors - planning/music/bartender - the DJ list is very small and we didn't jive with any of the options so we went off list. The DJ we picked has been to The Parker Mill many times so I'm surprised they weren't on the approved list to be honest. Nevertheless, the fee wasn't a deal breaker or too much of a wallet hurter)

he rental space from 9 AM to 11 PM, and they were right on time, immediately getting everything set up!
We were definitely a couple who were interested in the entire process, and they were so patient letting us come out of the bridal/groom's suites to look at the setup as well.
If you have a larger bridal party, the suites fit everyone (including parents!) comfortably, with multiple seating areas and getting ready mirrors in the bridal suite, as well as games, a balcony, and a mini-kitchen in the groom's suite. My bridesmaids and I never felt cramped, with 11 people plus H & MU in the room getting ready, and my husband had a great time with his guys while spending the day upstairs at the venue!
This is truly the most stunning view we've ever seen, the weather was gorgeous, and the interior of the cocktail and reception space is unique, clean, and breathtaking. We are incredibly thankful to Alexis and her team for all they did for our wedding. We had the perfect day!

They were amazing throughout the entire process. Incredibly responsive, flexible, and invested in helping us create the day we dreamed of. Their warmth and professionalism made us feel supported every step of the way, and they handled everything behind the scenes with such care that we never had to worry about a thing.

get married. Throughout the whole process of organizing and planning our wedding, Alexis was extremely helpful and excellent at communicating with us. The weeks leading up to our big day, we had a virtual walk through the decor and plans (we're from Michigan so we couldn't make it in person) Alexis was very helpful in showing us different decor layouts and styles. They also have a killer decor closet that takes a lot of stress off of trying to find wedding decor that you will only use one time. Overall, The Parker Mill was a great choice for a wedding Venue, from the views to all the staff that worked the event, and the owners Alexis and Brock, we had the best day ever and we wouldn't have it any other way.

The ceremony location was exactly what we envisioned, and the reception hall had plenty of room for all our guests (around 130 people). The mountain-top photo opportunity was incredible, the views during the ceremony were superb, and the reception hall was the exact enchanting vibe we were hoping for. The decor closet option had so many wonderful decorations to choose from and they were happy to work around the decor we brought ourselves. We also chose to purchase the firework package and it was absolutely the right call--everyone was so surprised and excited about it, and the fireworks show was stellar! Highly recommend this place, no complaints.

hat’s why I chose this place to begin with. They do have a Decour closet with lots of options if you would like to purchase. They also have packages that you can add on to your Saturday if you want to which makes set up a lot less stressful in my opinion. But you could also do rehearsal the day before. They have some of their own staff that will set up tables and hang decorations and put things where you want them before the wedding day. They also bust tables, clean up, take trash, and help the day go smoothly. Everyone on the staff worked hard and had a great attitude anytime we interacted! I would without a doubt recommend the Parker Mill to anyone and everyone.

The bridal and grooms suite were incredible and had everything we needed to enjoy the day. The decor closet that we had the option to rent was so convenient and made decorating a breeze. We only toured this venue and the moment we stepped foot inside and met Alexis and Brock we knew we didn't want to visit any other venues. They are so down to earth and made the entire process easy. We had a crazy rain storm and power outage on the day of our wedding and their team worked so hard to get the power back on and make the day perfect. ooking for a venue where I could have a laid-back, intimate wedding (~30 people) with a small reception for snacks/ drinks/ cake. This venue was perfect for us, but could easily accommodate any size ceremony from small elopements to very large weddings/ receptions. The bridal suite and groom's areas were spacious and perfect for hanging out and getting ready. We were able to book the venue for only 5 hours, used vendors who Alexis recommended (photographer, cake, hair/ makeup, music, officiant, flowers, and day-of-coordinator), and hardly needed to decorate anything because the venue itself is so pretty. Everything came together perfectly.
