Nestled along the scenic shores of Long Island Sound in Fairfield, Connecticut, The Pavilions at Penfield Beach offer two stunning beachfront venues perfect for your celebration. Whether you're envisioning a grand affair or an intimate gathering, our Penfield Pavilion and Jacky Durrell Pavilion provide breathtaking views, versatile spaces, and a serene coastal ambiance.
Penfield Pavilion, the larger of the two, features soaring cathedral ceilings, modern charm, and panoramic waterfront views. It accommodates up to 180 guests for a seated reception or 300 for a cocktail-style event. A covered deck offers the perfect setting for a picturesque ceremony or a lively cocktail hour with an ocean breeze.
For a more intimate celebration, Jacky Durrell Pavilion exudes rustic elegance with its whitewashed wood interior and vaulted sweetheart ceilings. Designed for up to 125 guests, this cozy space includes a wraparound deck, ideal for mingling and enjoying the stunning beachfront scenery.
Both venues are available in set rental increments, including time for setup, a four-hour event, and an hour for breakdown and cleanup. Additional time may be reserved based on availability. Rentals include access to the pavilion and deck, use of our tables and chairs, and an on-site attendant to assist with setup and breakdown. Additionally, we provide a curated list of recommended vendors to help bring your wedding vision to life—while you're welcome to choose your own, our trusted partners offer a great starting point.

The Jacky Durrell was so great! The indoor and outdoor space was perfect for our wedding of 85 guests. Gaylen was very timely, professional, and responsive. My only complaint is that there was a 10PM noise ordinance that I didn't know about prior to booking the venue, but I'd definitely recommend this venue for a small to medium size wedding!

Our wedding at the Jacky Durrell Pavilion could not have been more perfect. The venue itself was an ideal spot to host around 100 guests—spacious yet intimate. We held our ceremony inside, enjoyed cocktails out on the brand new deck with beautiful views, and moved seamlessly into the reception dinner back inside.
The staff, especially Gaylan and Deirdre, were absolutely incredible to work with. They were so helpful, organized, and attentive, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Everything came together beautifully, and the night flowed without a hitch.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience or a more perfect setting for our wedding day!

The venue and support staff are spectacular! It sure did not hurt that we had picture-perfect weather. The only minor complaint is that garbage cans were in the hall as people came in for the cocktail reception, but they did move them after being prompted.

I recently hosted my daughter’s graduation party at The Pavilion, and it was truly a beautiful venue. The best feature by far is the breathtaking view—when you walk in, the first thing you see is the ocean and beach, and it immediately sets the tone. The deck was also a perfect spot for our cocktail hour, giving our guests a chance to enjoy the scenery.
We had about 100 guests, and the space was just right for that size group. The Pavilion can accommodate larger parties, but I’m not sure how the layout would work once you factor in a dance floor.
The staff at the town were great to work with—very accommodating and responsive. That said, there are a few things to note. The chairs provided are not attractive (black and not very fitting for most décor), so I recommend renting your own. We also ran into minor issues with the warming ovens and the bathrooms not being cleaned properly before the event, but the on-site staff addressed those problems right away.
Overall, I would highly recommend The Pavilion. The biggest trade-off is that you need to bring in everything yourself (catering, rentals, etc.), but the unbeatable view makes it absolutely worth it.

A perfect welcome event at Penfield Pavilion!
We hosted our welcome event the night before our wedding at Penfield Pavilion, and it was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, everything went off without a hitch.
Gaylen was incredibly helpful and responsive leading up to the event, which made the planning process so smooth and stress-free. On the day of, everything ran seamlessly — the space looked beautiful, the team was so accommodating, and we couldn’t have been happier with how it all came together.

We celebrated our casual Saturday morning/afternoon wedding here just last weekend. Beautiful venue, Gaylen is really easy to work with and Dierdre is a literal angel. She helped us plan and arrange day of coordination, i COULD NOT have survived without her. Had a last minute vendor fall off the face of the earth and Dierdre solved my problem is under an hour. Everything moved right along perfectly. Everyone was so kind and helpful would absolutely book this venue and Dierdre again for any event!

Excellent venue. Great view: can see water from inside, clear and wide view of beach on the deck. Venue staff is great at communicating with client and with accommodating requests. Large parking lot on site. One especially nice feature is that during an event held inside (e.g. wedding reception), guests can easily go from the inside to the deck to enjoy the beach view and nice breeze.

This venue was perfect for my wedding welcome party on Penfield Beach. Interior is big with beautiful views of the sea.
The team is very easy to work with and the venue is super flexible to our needs. The price is HARD TO BEAT.
Would recommend for a pre-wedding destination for easy to coordinate events since they don't provide a wedding coordinator. My guests still talk about the space and how nice it was to be right on the beach.

We had our wedding reception at the Jacky Durrell Pavilion on a Thursday in May 2024. We had 85 guests and for wanting a decent sized dance floor, dj, 11 round tables and food buffet tables, I’d say we just fit well! The weather was warm for the beginning of the month, and it was gorgeous to get pictures on the beach at sunset! The venue looks stunning and the photos are amazing. I will admit, I was initially overwhelmed with having to bring in all the staff and food, decorations everything ourselves. I will say two things: wedding planner and wedding day of coordinator!! They will deal with finding and contacting the professionals you need so you can enjoy your big day! It was the perfect venue, I loved my wedding so much and a big thank you to the parks and rec staff who helped me check out the space several times leading up to the event!

The Jacky Durrell Pavilion is located right on the beach in Fairfield CT. Truly a little piece of heaven right here on earth. Being able to sit out on deck and look out at the sound adds a great deal of ambiance to any event. I have used this location twice for fundraising events, and the larger Pavilion once for a personal one. Overwhelmingly satisfied on all three occasions.

Everyone enjoyed themselves and the venue allowed for plenty of room. Having the kitchen was so helpful and Hailey, my town helper, was kind and helpful. Just be advised, you need to leave as per rules. We did but that was the hardest thing getting my guests to leave.

This venue was amazing for our wedding! Gaylen was quick to answer any questions I had and kept me on track with what was needed for the venue. I would use this venue again for other parties or gatherings and recommend to anyone wanting to have an event with a beautiful beach view!

We had our Wedding at Jacky Durrell, it is the smaller of the 2 venues there. We were married on the beach right in front of the pavillion and it was beautiful. It was a blank canvas, but included tables and chairs, for an affordable price. The building is so beachy and has newly renovated restrooms!
Gaylen was a pleasure to work with. Deirdre Price ended up being our day of coordinator and she was AMAZING. She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect and exactly what we had talked about and then some. She was so easy to work with and really made the day happen. I highly recommend her!!
Their recommended vendors were amazing to work with and were so familiar with the building. For anyone looking for a space to really create their own vision, this is the beach venue of your dreams.

The Pavilions at Fairfield Beach are a great venue for a beach-themed, or relaxed wedding event - welcome party, shower or even reception. We used the Durrell Pavilion which has a spectacular view of the Long Island Sound, is easy to access for guests, has a good size kitchen and quality equipment for setting up the event.

We rented Jacky Durrell for a wedding reception for 80 people and their staff were really wonderful. Connect early with their event manager, Dierdre, and she can provide extra help with any planning details. Everything was wonderful! The two Pavilions are a secret treasure, right on the water. We had an amazing experience renting the Jacky Durrell pavilion for a beach party in advance of our wedding! We loved the location and the affordability of the venue, working with the coordinator was also super straightforward and pleasant! We rented during the day so that our guests could enjoy going to the beach and come inside the pavilion for lunch. In late June, it. was a little warm with no AC but not too hot since the windows/doors open and let in a breeze! Having a pizza truck outside to cater was really convenient and I'd highly recommend that too! We used the fridge provided for drinks and the kitchen for setup/cleanup, and it was easy to set up decorations etc. with all the chairs and tables laid out in advance. We also brought just one speaker for music which worked fine for a casual event. Overall, I'd highly recommend! Ample parking, easy set up and clean up and access, and a beautiful setting!

Choosing the Jacky Durrell Pavilion at Penfield Beach was easy. Gaylen met us and walked us around the space. All communication with Gaylen was quick in response time, to the point and helpful. The space easily holds 80 comfortably. It was a quarter of the price of other venues. The space is versatile and the views unbeatable. All of our guests commented on how it was easy, elegant and inviting. The staff at the Pavilion was helpful, efficient and happy to help. We highly recommend.

We got married at Jacky Durrell on May 13th 2023. We planned our own wedding so we were the ones coordinating every thing with the venue. From start to finish it was an easy and smooth experience. Gaylen communicated and helped us through the initial booking and planning stages and Deidre to over at the site and helped with planning the room set up.
On the day Deidre was a rock. She was hands on and at the venue all day to help with anything we needed.
We could not have asked for a more magical venue, the view and beach backdrop is spectacular. The staff at Parks and Rec made the whole experience perfect.

PROS: Location, location, location. We chose the beautiful Pavilions at Penfield Beach for two reasons: one is the location, right on the beach. Two is that my husband is a homebrewer and he wanted to be able to serve our guests his own beer. Gaylen, my primary contact, was super friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful day and were able to take some pics on the beach, and many of our guests enjoyed spending time in a lounge area we had set up on the back patio.
CONS: The downside of renting the Pavilion is that you are renting the building, the tables and the chairs – and that's IT. Meaning, you have to bring in EVERYTHING. From ice, to salt-and-pepper shakers. Our caterers, Amici's Tavern out of Hamden were fantastic with setup and breakdown of the room, and providing glassware, utensils, etc. It was just a LOT of WORK to load everything in and out. I mistakenly thought we were able to get in at 9 a.m., but it was actually 10. A little tight for a noon wedding, but thankfully my village was able to pull it off!
Also, the Pavilion does not have a separate room where a bride can get ready, so you literally get out of your car (or limo) and walk in. I wish there had been a bridal suite where I could have taken a breath, double-checked my hair and makeup before I walked in.
I hope they include one when they rebuild after 2022!
Finally, it must be some sort of regulation, but EVERYWHERE YOU TURN there are exit signs. Big, red, garish exit signs over EVERY SINGLE DOOR. And some on the door jamb... in every picture. I'm sure my photographer can retouch them out, but... GAH!

Such a gorgeous venue run by amazing individuals. Gaylen and the Parks and Rec team made our wedding day envision come true. We wanted a simple wedding on the beach with wonderful caterers. This venue allows you to bring your own alcohol which saved us a considerable amount of money.

Even in the rain we were able to turn it into a stunning location and we suggest Jacky Durrell pavilion to anyone getting married!

I just got married on 9/10 and wow, I cannot say enough amazing things about Penfield Pavilion. I always dreamed of getting married on the beach barefoot and at Penfield, they made this dream become a reality. I live about 30 minutes away and to be honest....I had never heard of this venue before! (Which I loved) It's not over done or over played - it's a little gem on the beach in CT. I knew the second I saw it online that it was the one, but was immediately reassured once I went to visit. You just can't beat the view, plus the price is incredibly reasonable. The space is a blank canvas so you can totally make it your own. Gaylen and Dean (Penfield coordinators) were great and it was such a pleasure working with them. If you're looking for a beach wedding, Penfield is the place!

Just had my wedding here 9.4.22 and I can't say enough about how beautiful this place is. It was perfect for the look & feel my husband and I were going for. Gaylen and Dierdre were helpful and answered all my questions during the planning process. The guests are still raving about the view/space as well. I am very into DIY and so I really appreciated that the building rental could be as blank slate/ white canvas as you want, coming with necessities like chairs and tables and things like that, but letting you do your own decor and get your own catering and other vendors of your choosing, instead of making you use vendors they want you to use (which is hard to find in CT). Pricing is reasonable too. My main complaint if I had to make one would be that I should have purchased more hours than what I already had so that the party could go on longer! Didn't want to leave:)
