After a lot of research, my husband and I chose the Penrose -- the location and v...ibe is exactly what we were looking for (you can view their events video which accurately depicts what you will have) and the food options are phenomenal. We booked them pre-COVID and when the pandemic hit, they were very understanding and advocated for us, returning our deposit and everything. When we postponed our wedding, I wanted to make sure that we still had our rehearsal dinner here since we fell in love with it. Kate, the event manager, was beyond wonderful to work with. She was always patient and professional about their status in the pandemic and did not want to book the event until it was safe to do so which I appreciate. When we were finally able to move forward in planning, Kate answered all questions and was helpful in planning out our menu and decor. Our wedding party and parents absolutely raved about the food -- everything was put out timely and presented beautifully for a buffet/cocktail type setup. People are still raving about the shrimp tacos, wings, and churros. In addition, the little details like making menus for our personalized event and little signs around the room made it feel extra special. (To top it all off, the cost cannot be beat, especially for the city. The quality of food and atmosphere is well worth it and you will not find any place like this!)
