I had gone to multiple dress shops and tried on a lot of different dresses to the point where I was getting worried I would have to ‘settle’ on a dress. The Persnickety Bride was m...
y second to last dress shop and I was highly nervous as I came in that I wouldn’t find what I wanted. Denise and Cecelia had great energy and made me feel at ease almost immediately! After trying on a few dresses that I saw in their online catalog, I talked with Denise about what I was hoping to find and she had one dress in particular she thought I would love by Justin Alexander - and she was right! I went to my next appointment and kept thinking about the dress that Denise found, so back I went to purchase my gown. The quality of the gowns are top notch and they pay attention to the small details. I am so in love with my dress, even after the big day. Thank you Denise and the Persnickety Bride team for helping me find my dream dress!!
They had a great selection of beautiful dresses. I easily found multiple options that I loved. Very attentive staff.

As a Mother of the Bride, I felt so welcomed and supported throughout the process. Denise and her team helped me find the perfect dress while making the experience enjoyable, stress-free, and memorable. Their attention to detail, kindness, and expertise set them apart. I highly recommend The Persnickety Bride to any bride or mother of the bride looking for exceptional service and a truly amazing experience.
Persnickety bride? Come here. Seriously.
Persnickety Bride is full of big personalities and even bigger hearts. The moment you walk in, it’s a blend of love, spunk, and energy that...
just leaves you feeling better than when you came in. It doesn’t feel transactional—it feels real, like you’re surrounded by people who genuinely want you to feel your best.
Denise and her team are true girls’ girls, and Denise herself is a badass (had to say it). She’s honest, supportive, funny, and knows exactly how to guide you without ever making you feel pressured.
I had multiple appointments after my visit here including one horrible experience at a shop in New York City and nothing compared. I kept thinking about how Denise made me feel and how much I loved my dress. I couldn’t stop comparing everything back to this experience, and nothing measured up.
Even when I had a few hiccups along the way, Denise and her team were patient, understanding, and worked with me every step of the way. That kind of care is rare.
I fell in love with my dress, but more importantly, I felt taken care of.
I cannot recommend Persnickety Bride enough. If you’re looking for an experience that feels like you, this is it.
Denise and the Persnickety Bride team were so wonderful from start to finish. I had been to a few shops before seeing them and was overwhelmed by the options, but Denise's eye, mat...
ter of fact attitude, and encyclopedic knowledge of every dress in the store made it easy to find and feel confident in the perfect dress. She seems to know all the designers she carries personally and was able to order some customizations to make my dress exactly what I wanted. I also looved the veil that I got from the store. Thank you for everything Denise!
I am so happy I got my dress at the Persnickety Bride! Denise and her whole team are incredible. Her store is amazing and she only carries the best. Both my sister and I found our ...
dream dresses here. Denise worked with the designer of my dress (Dany Tabet) to get me a custom dress so I could get exactly what I wanted. She even had a trunk show and I was able to meet Dany. Completely a dream come true. I was able to get the dress I envisioned and it was perfect for my wedding day. Can not recommend The Persnickety Bride enough!

xander dress I had my eye on. Through all of it, they were nothing but kind, patient, and incredibly accommodating.
The team never made me feel rushed or pressured, and they truly listened every step of the way. Each visit, they welcomed me with warmth and genuine excitement, and helped guide me toward what ended up being the perfect dress. I felt so supported through the entire process—even when I wasn’t totally sure what I wanted.
In the end, the custom-ordered gown was absolutely stunning, and fit like a dream. I felt beautiful and completely me in it, which is all I could’ve hoped for.
Huge thank you to everyone at Persnickety Bride for making the experience so special and stress-free. If you’re a bride who wants to feel truly cared for, you will be in amazing hands here!
If I could give this review five more stars, I absolutely would!

tart wedding dress shopping because of the sizing industry, but Denise and her team completely changed that for me. They were so welcoming, so kind, and honestly made the whole experience fun instead of stressful.
When I went to try on dresses, I ended up finding my dream dress! Their selection is beautiful, thoughtfully curated, and not at all overwhelming. The boutique itself feels homey and personal, which made the experience even more special.
From the very beginning, everyone I worked with went above and beyond. Cecile helped me find my dress, and Emmy guided me when I picked it up and chose my veil - they were both absolutely wonderful. Patient, kind, and genuinely excited for me, they made the process so smooth and enjoyable.
I cannot recommend The Persnickety Bride enough to any bride - whether you’re in Fairfield, New Haven, Putnam County, or even farther away, this is worth the trip. You simply won’t find a better experience than this one!

t to shop when it was my turn! I worked with Celia and she did an amazing job at helping me make selections and weigh my options. She helped me talk through what I liked and didnt like and ultimately ended up purchasing two dresses with her! Denise of course, was present and hyped me up in everything I tried on. Overall the squad at Persnickety is top tier and the selection to choose from is so vast! 10/10 recommend to any bride looking for their special dress!

so much fun finding the dress of my dreams, we laughed, we cried and most importantly made so many everlasting memories. Something that stood out to me about Denise was she took the time to ask questions about myself and my husband before even trying a dress on. She really cares and listens to your vision and with her exceptional knowledge of her inventory she is able to bring your vision to life! Communication was clear and effective. Would absolutely recommend!

I had an amazing experience with the team at Persnickety Bride! They were the first salon I went to - Celia was amazing and immediately got a feel for what I liked and didn't like ...
- I explored other salons after my first visit as I hadn't found the perfect dress quite yet but I went back because I wanted to give this specific team my business and I felt they cared about how I would feel in the dress just as much as I did. They worked very hard and finally uncovered my dream dress! Denise went above and beyond as well to send me ideas during my search and the quality of their dresses and designers was top of the line. Once ordered, the communication was clear, it arrived ahead of schedule, and the seamstress they referred me to was extremely skilled. Couldn't recommend more and can't wait to get married in my dress next week!

I highly recommend The Persnickety Bride as the salon to go to feel your most beautiful and find your dream dress!! When I first went, I had never tried on dresses and had no idea ...
what I was looking for in a dress. Celia was an absolute angel putting me in as many dresses as possible in our time together. Denise kept checking in and giving me much needed peptalks throughout the appointment to ensure I felt my most confident. I knew I found the one but wanted to sleep on it being such a big decision, so I was able to book with them for the following week. Coming back to say yes, I felt so supported by Celia and Denise, it truly felt like I had additional family there with me.
When I went to pick up my dress and veil, I encouraged my mom to try on some Mother of the Bride dresses. My mom found the perfect dress as they have an amazing collection.
I couldn't be more grateful for both my and my mom's experiences at The Persnickety Bride. A big thank you to both Denise and Celia for making us feel our most beautiful!!

was smooth and stress-free. When it came time to try on dresses, I picked out several to try, but the staff really went above and beyond by selecting the perfect dress based on my preferences. Their expertise and attention to detail made all the difference.
Not only were they timely, but they also made me feel confident throughout the process. I never felt rushed, and they were genuinely dedicated to finding me the right dress. To top it all off, they even assisted me in finding a local tailor for alterations, which was such a huge help. I couldn't be happier with my experience and highly recommend them to anyone looking for their dream dress!

rfect dress. However, I was able to find my dream dress at Persnickety Bride. Everything about my experience was amazing. They are more organized, professional, and caring than other places. I really appreciated the online portal to see potential dresses before attending my appointment. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like the texts before the appointment, the small goodie bag of things, and the pre interview before trying on dresses. The new location is adorable. My friends were able to sit comfortably in a gorgeous spot while I tried dresses on. They have so many different accessories and dresses. Erin was so helpful. She gave me great choices that were exactly what I was looking for. I did not feel rushed or forced into picking something. When I finally found the dress for me, Erin was quickly able to find a veil for me as well. She was able to explain the ordering process, sizing, and more to me. She also made helpful tips about sleeves and offered to share their suggested seamstresses. I am so grateful for the team at Persnickety bride. I am so excited to wear my dress. My friends are going to make Persnickety Bride their first stop when they get engaged too.

ling defeated after visiting a handful of other bridal shops and not having any luck finding dresses that fit my classic, no-lace, long-sleeve vision. After one meeting, Denise knew the exact dress I needed to try on and had it brought in just for me to try. I knew from the minute I tried it on it was the perfect dress for me!
Denise and the team also helped me design a beautiful custom veil and hairpiece to compliment the dress. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I cannot recommend Denise and her team at The Persnickety Bride enough!
Amazing selection of MOB dresses. It was an easy and fun experience. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.

ed and great quality dresses. Denise has an innate ability to pull the most perfect dresses and make the whole experience heartfelt and fun! After 5 minutes of talking she makes you feel like you've been part of the Persnickety family forever. She also has the best connections with tailors and was able to recommend someone who was able to then make sure the dress fit like a glove. I recommend this shop to anyone and everyone in the wedding dress market!

The first dress she gave me to try on was absolutely perfect. I tried a bunch of other dresses on afterwards, but the first one was the winner!
Months later, my mom was having trouble finding her Mother of the Bride dress, so we went back to Persnickety and she found her dress that day!
The customer service is amazing, friendly interactions every single time.

ess I would want. We had only gone to one other bridal salon before going to the Persnickety Bride... and it was not a great experience to say the least. But the Persnickety Bride was completely different! Aeryn, Denise's daughter, helped us and she was amazing! She is so knowledgeable and really knows how to hype you up! She actually was the one who picked out the wedding. She recommended it to me when I first got to the store... and I knew it was the one pretty early on. But all of the dresses she tried on were gorgeous! This dress is so unique and so delicately put together. We have never seen anything like it before :) My husband and guests were also was blown away the day of the wedding!!!
Thank you so much to both Aeryn and Denise for helping me find my dream dress :) So excited for your new and larger location... We have already recommended your shop a bunch to people and will continue to do so! Thank you :)

I had a great experience getting my wedding dress here. I had gone to many different places (including a very well known spot in NYC...) and thought that I might never find a dress...
that would suit me. I am petite and it was hard to imagine most of the dresses I tried on, as I was drowning in the fabric (I understand why it is important that the dresses are larger in size to accommodate all brides, but it still made it difficult as a petite 5'1" woman). I felt like I could actually tell what the dresses I tried on at The Persnickety Bride would look like. I had the help of both Celia and Denise during my initial appointment, and then worked with Denise for all the fittings. Overall, I had a great experience and am very happy with my dress!

I am a petite bride and I was swimming in every dress I tried on. After I decided which dress was “the one” Denise called me back in and took meticulous measurements and pictures of me in the dress to make sure they got it right. Her dedication and precision certainly paid off because the dress truly fits like a glove with only a few alterations needed. It is easy to see Denise takes great pride in her work and truly cares about her clients.

Make an appt- I promise it is worth it!
Look no further than The Persnickety Bride ladies! Denise and her team are top notch... Denise is spunky, fun, and loving; I felt like family from the moment I walked in the door. ...
Both of my dress experiences were seamless in the salon. Yes, I said BOTH. I bought a dress (which I loved and thought was beautiful) but second guessed it for a solid two weeks after purchasing. Eventually I told myself this is a common bride feeling and it will pass. Fast forward two months and I am sitting at my friends wedding.... she walks down the aisle in the same beautiful dress I recently purchased. I knew this was my sign, the dress was not meant to be mine. I reached out to Denise (in a panic) and explained the situation.. I ended up in the salon three days later in another dress I loved. Which I now know today was meant for me. Denise made me feel confident, beautiful, and reduced my stress level significantly. We ended up making tik tok's and laughing for two hours after I bought the second dress. Denise worked with the manufacturer for me so there was no crazy additional costs to restock the first dress (it hadn't shipped yet). The Persnickety Bride has such a magical selection of dresses, there is something for everyone. Not only will you most likely walk out of the store purchasing a gown, I promise you will leave with many laughs and memories for life. I can not recommend The Persnickety Bride Team and Denise enough. Love you guys! THANK YOU SO MUCH. Forever a Persnickety bride!
