work and dedication of the management and staff was outstanding. The Director of Events, Karen Bertram, was our primary contact throughout the many months of planning. Karen was always the ultimate professional. Her advice and guidance about all of the many details contributed to an event that our guests are still talking about. When the event arrived, we were able to enjoy a stress-free and memorable evening. Thanks to Karen and also to the Club’s Assistant Manager, Brad Ladik, for all of their efforts on our behalf. In today’s world, it is extremely rare to find the level of customer service that you receive at the PGC. My wife and I can’t thank them enough.

Then how easy it is to host a party there as all elements can be included - think about what you'd have to separately arrange for - venue, food, pastry chef (cake), alcohol, servers, linens, table cloths, chairs and tables, etc. - for one reasonable, per-person price. And the enabler, facilitator, coordinator and day-of manager - and the most flexible person - is, of course, Karen Bertram. Karen simply made everything work - and coordinated beautifully with any outside vendors (eg band, flowers, lighting). If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and grab a date for this place.

t was so pleasantly surprised by just how good the food was (far above typical wedding food). I was also skeptical about the cake, as I am with all wedding cakes, but it was delicious! The staff was so courteous - I had guests say they were treated like royalty. All in all, I highly recommend this venue!

She was wonderful to work with, always got back to us in a timely manner, and really was accommodating to all of our requests. Additionally, all of the guests raved about how good the food and cake were - many said it was the best wedding food they've ever had. The catering manager, Kim, helped out on our wedding day and was lovely to work with. The pastry chef, Amanda, was also wonderful to work with and so kind and helpful when it came to our cake. We can't say enough nice things about this venue and they truly made the whole day seamless and stress free.

Following the ceremony, our guests were able to retire downstairs for drinks and hors d’oeuvres in the grill room with it’s wonderful outdoor porches while the wedding party did the same upstairs on their own large private balcony/porch. All this while the PGC staff converted the ceremony space into a dance floor that was perfect for the occasion. Dinner, prepared onsite, was incredible. We received so many wonderful comments about the quality and presentation of the food. Their own baker handled the wedding cake as well and, once again and by all accounts, it was great. We were able to do outdoor photos on the golf course before the reception, which was great (and convenient!), and the inside is gorgeous, elegant, and timeless. Everyone on staff is great, and the reception went off without a hitch. Oh and the food! The food is delicious, and not just "for a wedding" good. We had so many people tell us it was the best meal they'd ever had at a wedding. I can't recommend the Pittsburgh Golf Club highly enough.

'Connor Golf Course, Oakland, and Shadyside, great for our out of town guests to play tourist. The fact that it is right next to Bob O'Connor golf course also allowed us to have an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. Then there's the actual building itself. The Grill Room downstairs gave us a "Speakeasy" like vibe which our guests really enjoyed during the cocktail hour. And the Main Floor is just open, airy, and magnificent, with a bit of colonial charm. Then there's the upstairs Bridal Room which was convenient for getting ready on the big day. Having recently built an elevator gives PGC a modern convenience for elderly guests to navigate between the different floors. When it came to contract and food negotiations (PGC has its own kitchen and does its own catering/wedding cake), Karen was very friendly and flexible in helping us build a package that worked for us. After our initial Food Tasting, we were disappointed with the taste of the food, presentation, and the wedding cake (included in the wedding package). We shared our thoughts with Karen. And did she take action! Karen took the initiative to schedule a second Food Tasting and took our feedback to their kitchen. For our second Food Tasting, we were so impressed and HAPPY. The food presentation was on par with a Michellin rated restaurant and PGC really incorporated our feedback. Special bonus points go out to Amanda the wedding cake pastry chef. Even though we said we didn't need to re-taste the wedding cake on our second Food Tasting, Amanda presented 3 different cake batters for our tasting so we can pick our favorite and we would be happy. Talk about going above and beyond! As our wedding day approached, Karen drew up layout of the dinner reception/entertainment, mainly, casino tables, karaoke, jumbo jenga. And on our wedding day, Amanda carefully placed flowers on our wedding cake to make it look so beautiful (supposed to be the florist job). PGC also worked with us when we had last minute no shows and gave us a refund. We had so many guests telling us how they adored the venue, the food was excellent and our wedding cake was THE BEST they'd had. Our wedding cake was the best I personally had, I finished the top tier anniversary cake the week after my wedding. Basically, our wedding was a success! So if you're looking for a beautiful wedding venue in a great location with excellent service, food, and flexibility -- go with The Pittsburgh Golf Club

to make sure your day is truly special. The food at the golf club is out of this world. All of the serving staff did a great job serving the guests. Although, dinner did come out late, none of the guests ever noticed the delay. I had several of my guests tell me that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. The PGC listened to our requests and were very accommodating to our needs. Overall, I would recommend the PGC to any brides looking for a unique and classic venue for the wedding.

The Pittsburgh Golf Club is a beautiful venue that they care for meticulously. The valet parking is easy and they are a pleasure to work with. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding location in the Pittsburgh area.

There was only a champagne toast thrown in (with really cheap champagne), a toast I can live without quite honestly. Anyways, it wasn't just a tiny bit more than the original price list we were sent, it was nearly triple the price. Instead of being itemized the prices were just lumped in together. I was quite shocked. When we pointed it out to the planner that she had sent us a different price list she promised to honor those prices if we decided to book. At that point though she went from super friendly to super rude and cut short the tour. I tried to ask her what was different between the two packages aside from the champagne toast and was basically treated like some peasant who didn't understand. We called and left several messages because, despite the rudeness, still wanted to hold our wedding there. We had several people who were club members offer to sponsor us but no one at the club would return our calls after the disastrous price switch. At least be honest and tell us that you jack the prices up for weddings despite everything being the same as "regular" events because you feel that its okay to take advantage of engaged couples. At least call back. Don't promise to honor the prices you originally sent and then ignore the messages we sent to sit down and discuss a date. Its this kind of experience that makes me want to elope. We feel so taken advantage of at every turn.

The Golf Club is beautiful and the event staff is awesome, Karen especially was wonderful to work with. She was so responsive and accomadating w/ all our last minute changes. And the food is amazing there. We could not have been happier with the Golf Club.

ue itself is beautiful. We loved it because it wasn't your typical big, empty room. It gives you room to decorate, but also if on a limited budget, the freedom to let the venue's beauty speak for itself. The Golf Club staff was very accomodating in allowing us to design a custom menu. They also made adjustments for a few people's dietary needs. They allowed us to choose any beers we wanted for the bar, not just the standard choices many venues give. They took great care to pack everything up for us and ensure if was all boxed, labeled and returned. Everything about our day flowed smoothly and worked out perfectly thanks to the Golf Club!
