Absolutely the perfect venue! Henry Rivas is amazing! He hooked us up, helped us coordinate, and was a pleasure to work with! Definitely recommend for a DIY type of wedding. The rules are flexible and there is a lot of freedom in how you want to structure your event. Such a beautiful site, right on the marina, with plenty of hotels nearby for guests. Extremely affordable option that was a phenomenal find for us. Could not be more pleased with how smoothly everything went and how wonderfully my reception turned out!
Bonus note: It was recently featured in the series finale of "Jane the Virgin"! Which was a fun tidbit for my guests!
I had my ceremony and reception and it was so beautiful and convenient for all pf my guest to have everything at one location. The ceremony was breath taking outside by the water. The weather was perfect. The hall also included tables, chairs and bar for a steal. This is gem!!! Henry and jis staff are awesome.
Great venue to transform. Great for low budget rental. venue was very accommodating.
This place is beautiful. It was the perfect place to have my wedding!
The best thing about this place is that it is a blank slate - they give you the keys at 8:00am, you do your thing, and then you return the keys at midnight. You get to bring in all your own vendors and decorations, so you have total freedom when it comes to planning your wedding. No service fees, no cake-cutting fees, and you are allowed to serve your own alcohol (you just can't sell it without a permit). The amount of money we saved just by being able to serve our own alcohol was probably enough to pay for the use of the venue.
This is the best way to have a beach wedding without getting sand all up in your shoes & dress. The water is right there at the end of the patio. To the right is a view of tiny Cabrillo Beach, and to the left is the marina full of boats. It makes for some spectacular photos!
I looked into a lot of venues before deciding on this one, and I'm pretty sure it is the least expensive venue in Southern California that is close to water. It's even more affordable if you are willing to get married here on a weekday.
Henry in the office was very kind and informative, and he answered all of my wacky Bridezilla questions. Some people had said in their reviews that he was sometimes difficult to get in touch with. I did not find this to be true at all! Sometimes he is not in the office because part of his job requires him to be outside doing other things, however, every time I left a message or sent an email he got back to me promptly.
Great place to have a wedding. It was a great location to have the out side ceremony and an indoor reception
Cabrillo Marina is amazing. This place is so gorgeous with a beautiful view of the ocean on one side and the marina off to the other. My wedding was perfect here.
It is total DIY - you get it bare, you leave it bare. They do provide tables and chairs for 125+ people. You can bring in whoever you want, vendor-wise. They are so laid back and easy to work with, although it can be a little hard to get a hold of someone at times. Just be persistent, they are just swamped!
Only downside is it can get pretty windy at the location - our chuppah fell over but we secured it with cinder blocks and all was well.
The room itself is beautiful and neutral with a little kitchen off of it (no stove or ovens, though). There are really pretty beamed ceilings and the lighting was soft enough to use for night time without having to switch anything up.
Power sources outside and inside were totally sufficient for everything.
Parking is ample.
There is a hotel across the parking lot which made it super convenient for out of towners or locals who had a drive - let alone for the wedding party!!!
There is a huge lawn next to it that is rented separately - make sure no one has rented one while you, the other. I say just take it all - the price is right!
All in all, this place is a total hidden gem. There is no place, from San Diego to Santa Barbara, where you can get married on the ocean for this price. Will you hair get blown around? Definitely. Will you not have terrible remorse about overspending on your wedding? For sure. So perfect.
