Unfortunately my wedding dress became one of the more stressful elements of the wedding process, when it really should have been the least stressful and most exciting. Though I fou...
nd what I was looking for, my dress was ordered in a size way too big, causing many alterations that could have been prevented had they ordered me my true size. Additionally, staff failed to inform me that the topper of my dress, what made me fall in love with the look, was backordered and the manufacturer did not have the materials to make it. I only found this out after numerous emails, calls, and follow ups. The truth had not come out until 6 months after ordering, too late to have gone in another direction. I was given arbitrary dates when it should come in by, which kept passing. It was like pulling teeth trying to get in touch with someone to address the issue, let alone someone who could provide any meaningful help. While I understand that manufacturing issues happen, the lack of communication, transparency, and accountability in this situation was extremely frustrating. Instead of an apology, upon picking up the garment, I was given another bill, after everything had already been paid in full. I am not recommending this store based on the experience I had to anyone.
Everyone I worked with was an absolute pleasure â kind, supportive, and genuinely excited to be part of such a special moment. The entire experience was amazing from start to finis...
h. The shop itself is beautiful, always spotless, and smells lovely (a small detail, but it really adds to the experience!). My dress also came out so nicely from alterations â my seamstress made sure it was perfect for me, and I felt so comfortable and confident in it. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone and would choose them again in a heartbeat over any of the other bridal shops I visited. They truly made dress shopping feel magical.
To all the girls who have envisioned their dream wedding dress since childhood, the Plumed Serpent is where it can be found! After getting engaged, I already knew just how I wanted...
to look on my wedding day for I had been imagining it since I was a little girl. However, I was worried that what I wanted was too specific and that I might have to settle for something I liked but wasn't my dream dress. After stepping into the Plumed Serpent and meeting Alison though, all of my worries went away. Once I showed her photos of the look I was going for, she quickly grabbed four dresses for me to choose from. Her expertise helped me to not feel overwhelmed, and her enthusiasm helped me feel confident that I would be walking out of there with my dream dress. And sure enough, that was true! Just a couple of hours later, I was leaving the Plumed Serpent having said "yes to the dress"- Mark Ingram's beautiful "Cloud" gown!
Yet, that was only just the beginning. The Plumed Serpent doesn't just sell you your wedding dress, they work with you in all the months leading up to the big day to make your gown entirely your own through working with their store's designer contacts as well as their in-house seamstress/Fairy Godmother, Lissa. When my gown's designer, Mark Ingram, visited the store, Alison invited me in for the incredible opportunity to work one-on-one with him to brainstorm and finalize all customizations to my gown to make sure that every detail, big and small, would be perfect when my final gown arrived in-store.
When it finally did, Lissa worked with me as if this was her own wedding and gown. Her immense talent shines through in every appointment you have with her as she effortlessly tailors the gown to your body. If you want to look perfect walking down the aisle, she's the woman you need to work with for she ensures every detail is just right. When working on my custom sleeves, she even added extra floral detailing on the top to connect them to the neckline of the dress.
Working with the Plumed Serpent will always be one of my favorite wedding memories, and I miss visiting the store already! Thank you so much to the entire team for going above and beyond to turn my dream wedding gown into a reality. I felt like a princess on my wedding day, and I will cherish my gown forever!

ress. I ended up finding my dress at my first ever appointment, my consultant Leo was amazing to work with and she understood my bridal style right off the bat. I did alterations there as well and my seamstress Lissa was very thorough and worked tirelessly to make sure my dress fit perfectly. On my wedding day I was comfortable and loved the way my dress looked and it was all thanks to the ladies at The Plumed Serpent!
The Plumed Serpent went above and beyond all my wedding dress shopping expectations from day one! I gave Leo my vision during our first visit, and she immediately pulled dresses th...
at were exactly what I was looking for! I am typically a huge sparkle girl, but I let Leo know I was hoping to go for more of a modern style while keeping it form fitting to wow my husband to be! đŤśđ˝
I instantly fell in love with all the Ines Di Santo designs, and knew the Selene dress was the one once I tried it on and looked in the mirror. My mom, godmother & mother in law were already in tears seeing how perfect it fit me and how it was everything I had envisioned! Since she knew I loved a sparkle element, she also found me the most perfect veil full of Swarovski crystals that added the element I wantedâ¨
Not only did Plumed Serpent help me find my dream dress, but once I heard they had an in house seamstress, I knew this was my place.
From my first alteration appointment, I knew working with Lissa would be a dream - she had the same eye for perfection as me, and we were on the same page for everything! She made sure my dress fit me perfectly for my big day, leaving me with zero worries. She even added multiple bustle options so I had choices depending on how I felt on my wedding day! All night I kept hearing compliments on how it looked like the dress was truly made for me.
Overall, I cannot say thank you enough to Leo & Lissa for making my wedding dress experience so amazing, and I will be recommending the Plumed Serpent to all my girlfriends!

ry polite and kind to us.
It is extremely difficult to find MOB dresses, we searched high and low and came across this store. I had already gotten my wedding dress, but it I hadn't, I would have definitely gone here.
Lindsay was our consultant and she was amazing!!!!! So helpful, knowledgeable and made my mom feel beautiful with every dress she tried on. She was not pushy at all, did not rush her.
Needless to say, my mom found her dress.
I highly recommend this bridal salon, from the moment you enter, to the moment you leave, you just feel good about your entire experience.
I had a wonderful experience at The Plumed Serpent, which by the way, is a beautiful store!I had been looking for months for a mother of the bride dress and Lindsey was so patient ...
and kind to me. We discussed what I was looking for and she actually listened to me. After trying on several beautiful gowns, I found my dress! It has been a real pleasure working with her.
Honestly, my experience at The Plumed Serpent was the most perfect wedding dress shopping experience I could have hoped for. I went to SIX different salons across CT and MA.... and...
this was THE BEST. From the ambiance to the dresses, to the team that works there. My consultant, Leo, was AMAZING! She listened to me, made me feel so confident in everything I tried on and offered amazing suggestions outside of my requested designs - in fact, the dress I ended up saying "yes" to was one she picked for me! I loved that I never felt pressure to purchase a dress (like I did at other others). Truly, just the most perfect experience from start to finish!
The team at the Plumed Serpent is the best. Lindsey helped me find my dream dress and veil after being very nervous about finding something I truly loved; and Lissa was exceptional...

my experience, my wedding gown, and my wedding were the exact fairy tale that I had imagined and I am so grateful to them!! They treated my bridal party and mom with such kindness and respect and they really made me feel like a bride should feel...extra special!!! Alison is beyond professional and responded to my every email and every text and I felt so safe and secure with how my dress would end up! And Lissa...there are not enough words to describe the talent of this woman! She is a master at her craft and I never once questioned her decision and always felt at ease once she was in the room!!! Thank you Plumed Serpent for making my wedding gown PERFECT!!!!
I came to the Plumed Serpent with the designer in mind, Chrissy did the rest! She got my samples in and gave me real good and honest feedback on how the dresses looked and flowed. ...
She even took numerous photos and videos so i could figure out which one i truly loved. I could not have asked for a more supportive person while making one of the biggest decisions of my wedding. Veils were the next thing that was needed. Since I had a reception dress i wanted to wear a veil with, Chrissy was able to give her expert input on what would go well. Even though I had another veil in mind, she was TOTALLY RIGHT as the one I ultimately got went perfectly! She knows her stuff and will never steer you wrong. After my dress came in, it was time for alterations. Highly Highly recommend going with their alterations team as they know what your dress will need and will ensure that it is done expertly and timely. My dress was a dream fit on my wedding day and will be in my family for years. Thank you so much for making it a smooth and effortless process.

aid I had liked plus brought me a few other options that I would've never though to try on. It was a really pleasant shopping experience, and I've been to about 5 other boutiques at this point. I would highly recommend!
Such a great experience finding my perfect wedding gown. Yvette was so helpful and honest throughout the whole process. I had tried on close to 70 dresses at various bridal stores ...
in CT and NYC and the plumed serpent exceeded all expectations. I purchased the first dress I tried on and was able to make some customizations to the dress. They have such a wide variety of gowns in stock in all different styles. The shop is beautiful and staff were very attentive. It was truly the best wedding dress shopping experience.
Had an OK experience at Plumed Serpent. I had just tried on dresses at another store in Darien (ALSW) right beforehand and had a MUCH better experience.
When we arrived the team ...
wasn't ready and was still sanitizing the area from the last guest (not a big deal and appreciate the staff cleaning the area during COVID). The three of us were told to sit and wait in the front three times by different people (manager/owner?). They didn't like anyone walking around the store and looking at the dresses or touching them. One lady told us that we were damaging the dress since the hanger wasn't straight. I found this off-putting and quite strange. These are all sample dresses (many with imperfections, makeup stains, and even tears). At a Little Something White in Darien, they encourage you to walk around, look at dresses and get a sense for what you like!
Krissy was so sweet, kind and friendly. She really listened to what I was looking for and pulled styles that matched my vision.
I was able to try on just 4 dresses that fell in my budget. If you're willing to spend $5-$15k for a dress, they definitely have more options.
I didn't end up purchasing a dress from Plumed Serpent. My experience wasn't as relaxing as I had hoped for. I left feeling that you needed a high budget to purchase one of their dresses.
Had the best experience at Plumed Serpent finding my wedding gown! Allison and the rest of the PS team are amazing, extremely professional, and also make you feel so comfortable.
Lissa, Krissy, and Allison made my wedding dress dreams come true. Shopping for any clothing has often been a challenging and upsetting experience for me. From the moment I walked ...
into the beautiful Plumed Serpent bridal shop I felt welcomed, respected, and celebrated. I cannot thank you all enough for that. What had been an experience I had sadly somewhat been dreading, instantly turned into what every girl dreams of when imagining wedding dress shopping without a negative thought at all to my size. The dresses are all gorgeous and Krissy was wonderful in helping me find exactly what I was looking for. Then when the world was spinning out of control due to the pandemic, Allison was so very supportive during what I know was an incredibly difficult time for her and the entire staff as well. When pandemic restrictions were lifted and I was finally able to have my dress fittings, Lissa worked magic in getting the alterations just right. In the end there were far more tears of happiness and I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It was well worth the nearly 2 year wait from when I first tried on dresses in July of 2019 to when I finally was able to wear mine in June of 2021! Despite the pandemic putting the celebration on hold for an extra year, it was an incredible day and I am so thankful for it and all of your help and kindness along the way.

Lindsey was absolutely amazing! She listened to everything I wanted and helped me find my wedding dress! I had the best experience here and would highly recommend going!

of the trunk show. She didnât limit the amount of dresses I tried on and she knew exactly which pieces were available from my list. She listened to my likes and dislikes so much so that I ultimately purchased one that she pulled for me. This was my first bridal appointment and had not visited any other salons but luckily I didnât need to because the selection of dresses was large. Definitely put this salon at the top of your list, you may not need to bounce around to any other!

dding dress but she was so helpful and patient with me. I tried on so many different kinds of styles, but i really wanted her opinion on them since its so hard for me to make decisions. After trying on a few, she came into the room with one that she just loved and wanted me to just put it on to try it out. I ended up falling in love with this particular dress and said yes to it shortly after. She really made this somewhat stressful & overwhelming experience one that Iâll never forget! I cannot thank her enough. Everyone here was so sweet and it was an overall wonderful experience.

Krissy - I worked with Krissy and she feels like a best friend now. She was so kind and so smart, she read me like a book and knew exactly what to pull. She made me feel beautiful and like the center of attention. Even my family is obsessed with her! I cant thank her enough. Literally looking forward to my next appointment to hang out!!

I used The Plumed Serpent for my alterations as well and Lyssa was amazing to work with! She went above and beyond to make sure my dress fit like a glove and that I felt 100% comfortable in it.
The team at The Plumed Serpent are bridal pros and I would recommend them to any CT bride!

ence and first time trying on dresses. The salon is absolutely gorgeous. I was anxious and somewhat overwhelmed by the entire process, but Krissy listened to my thoughts and made me feel so comfortable and so confident. She was patient with me and gave me time think and figure out what I liked and didnât like on my body. She really calmed my nerves and just made the entire process fun. I ended up falling in love with and saying yes to the second dress I tried on (out of about 15!). I even cancelled 3 other appointments while I was there because I knew it was it, the dress and the entire experience just felt right. I went in having done some research and knowing what I wanted to try, but I was so impressed by the selection at the salon It felt endless (in a good way!), and Krissy handled finding what I had researched, and suggested styles I may not have thought about trying. It was so helpful! I traveled from Boston for the appointment and it was the best decision I could have made. I would highly recommend to any bride in search of their perfect dress!
Plumed serpent staff have an amazing way of making you feel calm and confident when youâre in their store. Iâm normally a large or Xl in retail dresses so I was very nervous about ...
trying on gowns but I fell in love with a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown that I never would have thought to try on myself. Trust their recommendations and try them! They truly were amazing start to finish, the woman who did my alterations was so kind and a pleasure to work with. My only complaint is I wish they shared more photos of brides who arenât sample size on their social media.

I fell in love with several dresses at The Plumed Serpent because they have such an amazing selection. I worked with Krissy who was super knowledgeable and immediately understood my style and what I was looking for. She was patient with me as I was very undecided about a dress and never pushy - she was amazing to work with! Highly recommend coming here to find your dress!
Just bought my dress from The Plumed Serpent and could not be happier! Both Rachel and Betsy were fabulous. Cannot wait for my future fittings there!

geable, patient, and personable. She brought my vision to life and walked us through all of the details. Iâm so excited I found my dream dress! This was my first time dress shopping after months of having to put off planning due to the virus, and I couldnât have imagined a better experience. The other consultants up front were also very involved and lent their expertise and suggestions which led to discovering my veil and adding custom details to compliment my dress perfectly. Definitely recommend and hope other future brides will have the opportunity to visit!

did not put me in any dresses which suit my style. Once I was in a dress which suit my style it was twice (yes TWICE) my budget. If you are able to magically double your budget, as well as willing to change your vision to match your consultant you will have NO problem shopping here.
Wonderful experience! They were super accommodating even during these trying times. Highly recommend!

Lissa fit my dress to a T and was always so welcoming when going in for a fitting. You will NOT regret it!
The Plumed Serpent is THE place to go if you are looking for a wedding dress. I first visited Plumed Serpent in January with my sister who was looking for a wedding dress. Krissy ...
was her consultant and we had the best experience with her! She was so sweet and knowledgable and helped my sister find her dream dress! I am also getting married next year and when it was time for me to go try on wedding dresses I knew that the Plumed Serpent was my first choice! Going to try on wedding dresses during Covid is definitely different and can be a little scary but everyone at the Plumed Serpent was very careful to make it a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. I booked my appt with Krissy and I was thankful to have such a great consultant since I was not able to browse all of the dresses due to restrictions. We talked about what I wanted (and to be honest I really didn't know) and I showed her my pinterest board which ended up being a huge help. The first dress that she had me try on was the one! Krissy totally nailed it and found me my dream dress right and vail right off the bat! Krissy you are truly amazing and I am so thankful for your help and making my experience so special and fun! I went back a few weeks later for a retry because I wanted to talk with their seamstress about a few questions I had. This time I had Betsy and Lissa helping me and they both were so wonderful! They again made it such a special experience, answered all of my questions and made me fall even more in love with the dress which I didn't even know was possible. Everyone is so nice here, and you can tell that they really love helping brides find their dream dresses! Even if you have no idea what type of dress you are interested in they will help you find ones you like and feel comfortable in and will happily work with your budget. I highly recommend and cannot say enough great things!

Before I could even get a thought out, she already knew what I was going to say, which for any bride, put all my anxieties at ease and made me feel like I wasn't crazy for what I wanted. I would absolutely recommend The Plumed Serpent Bridal and look forward to going back for an accessories appointment !

e loveliest. She was attentive and thoughtful while I was trying on dresses, and she really listened to what I did and didn't like. I think she was as excited as I was once I found the one! Krissy and Alison, the shop owner, guided me through the whole process and made sure that I was happy every step of the way. They helped me think about the whole look of the day and how my dress would fit into that, and I couldn't have been happier with the results. Lissa made all of the alterations to make sure that my dress fit perfectly on my wedding day; her skill and attention to the tiniest details made such a huge different in the fit and feel of my dress. On the day of the wedding, I felt amazing -- but I also felt like myself in every way possible, and that's entirely thanks to the Plumed Serpent. I can't recommend them highly enough!

The biggest difference of all my shopping trips was working with Krissy as my stylist. From the moment I walked in the door, I knew she was going to take care of me. She was attentive, honest, personable, comforting, helpful and determined to find my dress. She asked to see photos and really heard my likes and dislikes - then we walked around the shop to pick out a few starting points. By the end of the appointment, she had uncovered three very different, but very beautiful styles. Prior to this appointment, I had wanted to change something about every dress I tried. Krissy made so many helpful suggestions and was knowledgeable about the designers. I felt at ease with Krissy and am so glad I was paired with her to find "the one".
Thank you to The Plumed Serpent Bridal team for FINALLY checking "the dress" off my long wedding to-do list. Specials thanks to Krissy for her sharing her magic with me.
