My now-husband and I went to a wedding at this venue in 2015 and instantly knew that we had to have ours there! Meg was wonderful to work with from start to finish-she was accommodating to our out-of-the-ordinary requests, responded to every email in a timely manner, and was able to help as my husband and I aren't the most decisive people. We had our ceremony and reception in the large banquet hall and it was better than we imagined. Megs team was fast, efficient and very helpful. Most importantly, everyones food was delicious, served warm and fresh (+/- 170 people) for dinner. I highly recommend the Sable Oaks to all future brides and grooms!!

Beyond satisfied with having our ceremony and reception at the Marriott!! The food and drink was amazing and top notch. The staff is first class and very attentive to all guests. Meg was a pleasure to work with and a huge help. Everyone at the Marriott made our dream wedding become a reality! Highly recommended.

Food was amazing! Location was great and the hotel is beautiful! Accomdations are nice, and easily accessible. Customer service from hotel staff was poor the entire weekend of the wedding, but especially the day of the wedding. Staffing was short so guests weren't able to check in prior to the ceremony time (5pm). We did receive some compensation but were so disappointed that this occured on our wedding day after the amount of money we spent.

the location of the marriot in Portland isnt beautiful in fact it is on a highway, next to a trainstation. if you want your guest to hear the train as it comes into town, have no where to walk, not even see anything like city lights or old port or anything historic. the marriot is a bust.

The Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks is a great place to have your wedding ceremony AND reception. Our ceremony was in one room and the reception was in the Grand Ballroom. We had about 123 people. The Marriott supplies you with a catering and event manager who helps alot in the decision making process when it comes to food, Audio/Visual/, set-up, and table arrangement. The staff is there to make things easy and keep things running on time. Very professional and friendly. You have to spend a minimum of $10,000 in catering for the grand ballroom, which seems pretty pricey but the food was amazing and everyone raved about it. I didn't look at other venues so I'm not sure how that rate compares to other hotels.
