Cannot say enough good things about the Portos. Phil was so great at communicating with us every step of the way before our big day. He was so personable and took the time to do a video call with us, phone call with us, and really got to know us before coming to shoot our wedding. We felt so comfortable while having our pictures done and just received our sneak peek photos — we are blown away! They do such a great job of capturing everyone's personality and not making the photos look too staged, which is exactly why we picked them to shoot our wedding. There isn't a better option out there when it comes to your wedding photos!

Beyond grateful for Phil and his team! Not only are they insanely talented but they were so sweet and made everyone feel so comfortable. After postponing our wedding due to COVID, the event was in the making for 3 years and, of course, ended up raining the day of. We're so thrilled we chose The Portos for our wedding! From the moment I saw their website, I knew that their style was exactly what I wanted and envisioned for our big day. And Brandon delivered 100%. The photos are absolutely stunning, just gorgeous, truly! He is so talented. And also, he was amazing to work with. Finding a photographer was the most important and the most stressful part of planning our November 2019 wedding. I wanted to achieve a specific look and The Portos fit the aesthetic I was going for. Where do we even start!? From the get-go the Portos were our #1 pick for wedding photographers. We reached out to them hoping they would respond and they did right away. Through our whole wedding planning process we just wanted to make sure we surrounded ourselves with solid people that we could easily vibe with. Straight away, we knew we were going to click with our boy Phil. We planned on doing our engagement photos with him, (November 2018) and it just so happened to be the COLDEST DAY OF THE YEAR! Phil was such a champ and bopped around BK with us! The photos came out stunning so we knew we were in good hands with these guys. Choosing The Portos for our wedding was the easiest and best decision we made! Phil and the team created a timeline for our day, they were so organized and on top of things. Day of, Phil puts his heart and soul into his work and made our day even more memorable. He has his own unique style and exceeded our expectations and ourselves and our friends are completely melting over the pictures! Definitely gunna work on other projects with him in the future!!

The Portos were great!!! Our photographer John was super easy going and made us feel super comfortable the whole time. That unique Portos style came through wonderfully in all our pictures. He flexed his versatility muscles in being able to work in our home, in a park, and indoors (even with less that sub par lighting) and even used all these little corks to play with shadows, reflections, black and white. While our ceremony pictures where a bit crowded, he did an amazing job with our portrait. With only 15 min (we did not do a first look); we have gotten a phenomenal set of beautiful shots. Also, All pics were delivered way sooner than we had expected. If you like what you see, you’ll love working with the Portos 😀

I fell in love with Phil's work long before we were even engaged. He and his team created the kind of photos that gave me chills. Phil had online rapport with me through IG, so as soon as we got engaged, it was already a done deal. Truthfully, I couldn't be happier we made that decision. Phil was incredible to work with, and constantly inspiring us to just be ourselves in front of the camera. Our engagement shoot went perfectly, and I thought those photos were to die for.... but then I got the sneak peek from the wedding. I am looking at 3 photos that bring me both limitless joy and instantly bring me back to the best day I've ever had. I am looking at 3 photos that, had I seen them while planning, would have on my own pinterest board as goalz. I am looking at 3 photos, wondering how the rest of them are going to compare, but knowing I'm sure to be blown away without fail. Hire The Portos immediately!! It was really important for us to find a photographer that would make us comfortable, and really capture all the great candid happy moments without feeling corny. When we first talked to Phil on the phone, we knew this was the right company for us! They really love what they do, and made us feel so excited to partner with them on our big day! John was so amazing - we had so much fun with all the photos, everything felt super natural and not forced. And of course, the important bit - the end photos are BEAUTIFUL!! Even if you’re planning/hoping for a low-key wedding, the process can be unexpectedly taxing. But by far the easiest decision (besides saying “yes”!) was working with Phil. I say work because “hire” sounds so impersonal and aloof, and Phil is anything but. After establishing a connection with us, he went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Oh, Phil’s also an incredible photographer. We’ve legit had multiple people tell us that our photos are the best they’ve ever seen. I knew we would love them, but I can’t even describe how expressive and impactful his images are. Thanks to them (and him), we’re able to look back and remember all of the day’s fleeting moment—it’s like having a ridiculously stunning timeline at our fingertips. We literally couldn’t be happier with the photos, or our experience with Phil and The Portos, and you’ll feel the same way after working with him. (I would almost be willing to bet my dogs on it, but that sounds terrible. But really.)

There are no words strong enough to sum up the feelings and emotions of our wedding day, but The Portos captured it. Brandon traveled to Tennessee and captured every single detail and moment flawlessly and felt like a part of our family and friends. Phil was the easiest to work and communicate with, to coordinate, and for perfectly edited the beauty Brandon captured. I sobbed my eyes out while we went through our gallery because, after dreaming for 24 years how every detail of this day would be, it was even more beautiful than I could have imagined and The Portos are to be given all the credit for capturing the smallest details. The Portos are not just great photographers, it's an all around great team that cares about every aspect of a wedding. Phil and Christa were extremely responsive and professional and Brandon and Paige (who actually were with us on the day) gave us fantastic photos and more than a few laughs. With the extensive communication leading up to the day, they were able to help steer us towards a photo plan, so we were able to get everything we wanted. As someone who cares a lot about photography, but also hates nearly every image of myself, picking who would capture my wedding was a crucial decision. And I can safely say that I CRUSHED IT by hiring The Portos (Phil). I could not be happier with our photos (which, by the way, were delivered super quickly! This is a nice thing when you're already starting to feel like you've been married a million years because life has gone back to normal and boring.) Phil made my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera, embraced the weird things we could not help but do, and nailed the balance of taking photos that felt like us, but also special and way more beautiful than we typically look. The Portos' approach produces images that are perfectly non-traditional but yet so classic and lovely. Additionally, as a fairly Type A bride (I'm sure there aren't many of those out there...), Phil was incredibly easy to work with each step of the way and remained calm and collected on the big day even when I felt like many things were not going as planned. But you should know, I do deeply regret one thing about working with The Portos. And that's the fact that I was a real dummy and didn't also hire them as videographers. Don't make the same mistake I did. And hire these guys/gals - like right now!

Phil was amazing to work with and the quality of his work is superb. Our ceremony was at sunset and we were a little concerned how the pictures would turn out given the sun was behind us, and they look epic. He is a very, very talented photographer. We're really impressed, and feel blessed and grateful that we were able to have him capture our special day. We used the Portos for both our engagement and wedding photos/video, and everything was simply perfect. Phil and his team are absolutely incredible!! We wanted to find the right photographer for us that wasn't too traditional since that wasn't our taste. We scrolled through quite of lot of photographers and The Portos stood out for their candid, playful and professional style. The Portos have been incredible from the start. My husband and I both wanted a team who would match our energy and take beautiful photos we could be proud of. We felt so comfortable around Brandon, our photographer. He made us feel like we had been friends for years. These guys are freakin' incredible. We just got our photos back this week and I find myself compulsively checking the album and getting chills every time I do so. From our first conversation with Phil, he immediately made us feel comfortable. I can't stress how important that is, especially if you're someone like me who absolutely hates being photographed. On our actual wedding day, Phil and his assistant were GREAT. They were professional, but not stiff. They were versatile with how and when to capture moments. They were funny and relaxed, yet serious in the moments that mattered. They have a real, real knack for capturing the most genuine of moments. I think that's what I love most about our photos. We're just so clearly being ourselves and living in the moment. They staged some AMAZING shots, without anything looking staged or forced. Phil and Christa are fabulous!!! After reading all the online reviews and my phone interview with Phil, I just knew I had found my photographer. Scott and I knew we would get amazing photos captured at our wedding, and also that we would have a great time doing so! Right at the start, Phil understood what we wanted our wedding to be - city hall ceremony, separate reception, first dance to Metallica, and a photo shoot - and he was all on board. It has only been a few weeks after the wedding and we have already received our photos! Also, I would be remiss not to mention that I had originally contracted with All in White as my videographer but due to things out of our control, they were not able to do our wedding. Phil called me to let me know and saved the day by letting me know that Christa would be able to take it on! I truly appreciated letting me know over the phone and also for taking on our wedding as videographer as well. This was the easiest and the best choice I made for my wedding. I booked The Portos before I even booked my venue, and it was THE BEST wedding planning decision I made. John is not only an incredible photographer, but an amazing guy! We had a blast with him at both our engagement shoot and wedding. He got out there on the dance floor with us to shoot and was a huge hit with the guests. If you’re looking for a photographer who truly understands people and captures emotions, PLEASE READ. Our journey with Phil and the Portos team started over a year ago right after we got engaged and I started searching the Internet for wedding photographers. At first, we were planning on getting married in NYC, so the Portos team came up during our search. Of all the photographers that I spoke with and met with (5+), I was most impressed with the Porto’s portfolio because they captured not just the beautiful details of weddings, but also (and arguably more importantly) the joy, surprise, and awe of people’s emotions. Phil was immediately responsive to my inquiry, and made me feel at ease from the start. Wedding vendors can sometimes make you feel cornered and overwhelmed, but working with Phil was always straightforward and personal. He has integrity and is a truly caring person, which is evident in the way he approaches his business. Weddings are expensive, and Phil was able to be flexible with us and to be understanding of our budget. Once we booked, my husband and I also had the chance to get drinks with him and found out first hand how fun and real Phil is as a person as well. When we decided to move our wedding location to Chicago, he was super flexible and happily accepted the challenge. Throughout our wedding day itself, he took charge and helped us get all of the shots we wanted. We always felt raw and natural with him - never awkward and artificially posed. The very next day, he sent a preview of a few photos for us, so we didn’t have to wait weeks to get our first peek. Perhaps most importantly, he went above and beyond to share with us lessons and wisdoms from his own marriage and relationship with his wife Christa. We truly felt he was invested in us beyond our wedding day or the 9 hour block he was with us, and that he cared about our marriage and our relationship. I don’t have enough good words to say about Phil and the Portos team. John shot our wedding and blew us away with the photos! Let me start by saying – John is not just an excellent professional photographer, but an awesome person. He is thoughtful – when he arrived, he gave us an umbrella as a wedding gift because it was supposed to rain on our wedding day. He is friendly – he took the time to get to know us over Skype before our wedding day and even though we hadn’t spent much time with him, the day of we felt so comfortable with him. He is FUN – from knowing just how to make everyone laugh during the photos to joining in on the Wobble with us on the dance floor, he was an awesome party guest! Now, let’s talk about the photos. My husband and I did not want run of the mill wedding pictures, and after looking at several wedding photographers, we fell in love with Phil’s work. We absolutely loved working with Phil and Brandon. They were down to earth, fun and the perfect match for our wedding. We (my husband & I) booked The Porto’s back in 2016 when we still lived in a different state! I was researching Tampa photographers & we just instantly fell in love with their work, website, IG, and overall vibe! It was love at first sight! I knew right away I needed them & no one else to do our engagement/wedding photos! We set up a FaceTime meeting with Phil & Christa since we were in CA & they were in FL! After that, the rest is history, it was so easy going. We booked them right away to secure our date & even before we had a venue or anything! They were there for us from that moment on. They offered advice, help when I needed it & the best thing ever which I will forever be grateful for-referrals! There is even a special Facebook Group to share ideas from other brides that have worked with The Porto’s!! Our engagement photos were a blast & felt like the 3 of us were old pals! I was so nervous at first but my husband & Phil just made me laugh & laugh the whole time! Now to our wedding...it was an absolute dream! Phil & Angela showed up & literally killed it in every aspect. We had a blast! By the end of the night they both felt like family! The Porto’s are everything you want in photographer for your wedding! I also LOVE that Phil sent us 3 photos right away as the sneak peek, and had our photos back to us insanely fast! When planning a wedding you have to budget. When we did ours we put a #1 priority into the photos! I am so happy we did because the outcome of having The Porto’s do our wedding... these absolutely gorgeous photos of an insanely gifted/talented team of photographers that I will cherish for the rest of my life! Phil photographed our engagement session for us and we could not be happier! Being a photographer myself, I was very particular when it came to choosing someone to do our wedding and engagement, and the Porto’s artistic style was exactly what I wanted. When I first contacted Phil, I had no idea where I wanted this session to happen but I explained to him the mood I was looking for. I quickly got a response back and he knew the exact place for us, which was seriously exactly what I wanted! Phil’s style is not the usual “cheesey” type of engagement or couple photography and I just love that so much, we were posed but it doesn’t look like it. My fiancé and I had never had professional photos taken before so we were not completely sure what it would be like for us, but Phil was very good about telling us how to pose but also keeping the mood light and fun. The session was very intimate and not awkward at all, which I was unsure of before the photoshoot. We got our pictures back sooner than I expected and I love them all, I still have not narrowed down which ones to post or print because we have so many to choose from! All of our photos look like we knew what we were doing, and that is all thanks to Phil, not us! Our photoshoot experience could not have gone smoother and our images could not have come out any better!

WOW. First things first...we got our photo delivery earlier than expected (5 weeks early to be exact) :) The Portos were the best decision we made for our wedding and were worth every penny. Phil was amazing from the start and we immediately clicked from our first coffee meeting! We were skeptical of doing a first look but Phil helped us realize it was the right choice for us. It’s important to note that Phil made us feel 100% comfortable in our own skin during our first look and wedding party photos. Our wedding was unique in that we had a very tight timeline with our first look, sunset early, wedding time, large wedding party, long reception, etc. and Phil was able to work with it all! The Portos were there for us throughout our entire planning process to answer any questions we had along the way and provide guidance when needed. My favorite photos are the raw and emotional moments that were captured by Phil and his team. We will definitely be recommending them to all of our engaged friends :)

I can't say enough about Phil! The incredible photos are just one small part of the experience we had with him. He arrived early to scope out places for to take unique photos that captured the charm of the area and not just where the actual ceremony was. He also made the experience super easy and made it fun too. I was still in a bit of shock because it was my own wedding but Phil help my bride and I through the process and we now have memories and photos that will last a lifetime. I recommend booking them with my highest enthusiasm. You. Will. Not. Regret. It! :)

The Portos are amazing at what they do! They take great pride in their work and it shows. Phil and his team were so genuine and knowledgeable. My venue and event time posed a challenge (rooftop, sunset, dim lighting) and they were able to work with it and my photos turned out like something straight from a magazine. I paid a bit more than I originally budgeted for… I do NOT regret it one bit, it was worth every penny and then some. I have 400+ photos from my event, and all of them are stunning. I was so worried about not looking like a bride as I didn’t lose as much weight as I had planned, I was mainly worried about the photos but all of the photos turned out amazing. Phil maintained communication from the moment I contacted him until photo delivery, he was always there to make suggestions, offer advice or just to answer some questions. I cannot recommend Phil and his team enough! If you want amazing, breath taking pictures, this is the team for you!

The Portos are not only talented but they are able to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I was worried that I would feel really awkward during engagement and wedding photos but Phil and his crew helped us feel comfortable and be ourselves. I feel like our pictures perfectly capture us as a couple. I heard from multiple guests that attended our wedding that Phil was a genuine person and they all loved him. I am so, so, so happy we went with the Portos. When we started planning our wedding nearly two years ago, Casey and I were both in grad school and had to set a budget for our wedding. We were hesitant to spend more on a photographer but realized that pictures are all you have left of that amazing day and I am so thankful that we went with the Portos. Seeing my pictures today made me cry and laugh—Phil and crew managed to capture my wedding day perfectly. I was never concerned about not liking my pictures and this is a compliant I have heard from multiple friends who just got married. If in doubt and if you don’t want boring pictures, please consider the Portos. I have no regrets and look forward to gawking at my amazing pictures for decades to come. Also, Phil and Christa are just amazing human beings and are always down to answer any questions or concerns you have. They were very knowledgeable and quick to respond to all questions and in suggesting other vendors for us.

We connected with the Porto’s early this year for our wedding October 7th, 2017. We instantly hit it off with the personable, outgoing duo. One of their photographers and his wife shot our engagement photos in February. Our engagement session was easy, fun, and most importantly our photos were perfect. Unfortunately, they were already book for a wedding our same weekend, but Phil and Christa offered to fly their New York Photographer, John, down for our wedding. We had the pleasure of talking to John on the phone several times before our wedding, and met him in person the day of. John and his second shooter made us and our families comfortable, and it was like they weren’t even there. Their creativity, resourcefulness, and great senses of humor made it an easy going day and even that much more perfect. In addition, The Porto’s initially estimated approximately 6-8 weeks for the editing of our photos. We were pleasantly surprised when we received our edited album 4.5 weeks early. The pictures were everything we wished for and more. We would definitely recommend their services to anyone!

Phil and Christa were amazing!! The photography for our wedding was really important to us, and we did not want the classic, cookie cutter photos. We really wanted someone who would be able to capture our relationship in an artistic yet spontaneous way, and that's exactly what the Portos did. Starting with our engagement shoot, they took the time to really get to know us as a couple and make us feel comfortable in front of the camera. They made us feel as if we were taking photos with friends and not a hired team. On our wedding day, they helped us de-stress and remember that this day was really about us and our marriage. They were very organized, made sure I got all my requested shots, and even scoped out our location before the wedding to get some amazing street photos during our bridal shoot. We spent a lot of time researching photographers and I am so happy we went with the Portos. Their photos truly came out spectacular and they helped make our day run as smoothly as possible!!
