h every wedding. From the very first meeting, Phil Porto treated us like friends he'd known his entire life. When our wedding was postponed due to COVID, Phil was there with us every step of the way and worked magic to make sure he could still be there to shoot it himself! On the wedding day, Phil & Brandon showed up early looking so stylish (the salmon blazer was so killer). I absolutely loved that from the moment I saw them, I instantly knew that that the personalities I had fallen in love with were 100% genuine. The entire day went seamlessly because of Phil & Brandon, I truly could not have imagined a better photo/video team. After the wedding I realized that I had completely forgotten to ask for a photo with our two dogs - I reached out to Phil and before even sending my full gallery he sent me any photos that had them included knowing it was my one regret of the day. This small act is the perfect example of how Phil (& the rest of the Portos) will go out of their way for the couples they work with, because at the end of the day we're friends - not just clients. r whole wedding planning process we just wanted to make sure we surrounded ourselves with solid people that we could easily vibe with. Straight away, we knew we were going to click with our boy Phil. We planned on doing our engagement photos with him, (November 2018) and it just so happened to be the COLDEST DAY OF THE YEAR! Phil was such a champ and bopped around BK with us! The photos came out stunning so we knew we were in good hands with these guys. Fast forward to our wedding, (September 2019) and without a doubt one of the greatest pieces of our wedding was Phil and Brandon. CRUSHED IT by hiring The Portos (Phil). I could not be happier with our photos (which, by the way, were delivered super quickly! This is a nice thing when you're already starting to feel like you've been married a million years because life has gone back to normal and boring.) Phil made my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera, embraced the weird things we could not help but do, and nailed the balance of taking photos that felt like us, but also special and way more beautiful than we typically look. The Portos' approach produces images that are perfectly non-traditional but yet so classic and lovely. Additionally, as a fairly Type A bride (I'm sure there aren't many of those out there...), Phil was incredibly easy to work with each step of the way and remained calm and collected on the big day even when I felt like many things were not going as planned. But you should know, I do deeply regret one thing about working with The Portos. And that's the fact that I was a real dummy and didn't also hire them as videographers. Don't make the same mistake I did. And hire these guys/gals - like right now!

It rained during our ceremony (like, literally RIGHT in the middle) and into our portrait time. Phil and Brandon graciously offered us another hour for FREE on another day to make up for what we weren’t able to get on the actual day. On our actual wedding day, Phil and his assistant were GREAT. They were professional, but not stiff. They were versatile with how and when to capture moments. We're just so clearly being ourselves and living in the moment. They staged some AMAZING shots, without anything looking staged or forced. Right at the start, Phil understood what we wanted our wedding to be - city hall ceremony, separate reception, first dance to Metallica, and a photo shoot - and he was all on board. It has only been a few weeks after the wedding and we have already received our photos! Also, I would be remiss not to mention that I had originally contracted with All in White as my videographer but due to things out of our control, they were not able to do our wedding. Phil called me to let me know and saved the day by letting me know that Christa would be able to take it on! I truly appreciated letting me know over the phone and also for taking on our wedding as videographer as well. This was the easiest and the best choice I made for my wedding. r we got engaged and I started searching the Internet for wedding photographers. At first, we were planning on getting married in NYC, so the Portos team came up during our search. Of all the photographers that I spoke with and met with (5+), I was most impressed with the Porto’s portfolio because they captured not just the beautiful details of weddings, but also (and arguably more importantly) the joy, surprise, and awe of people’s emotions. Phil was immediately responsive to my inquiry, and made me feel at ease from the start. Wedding vendors can sometimes make you feel cornered and overwhelmed, but working with Phil was always straightforward and personal. He has integrity and is a truly caring person, which is evident in the way he approaches his business. Weddings are expensive, and Phil was able to be flexible with us and to be understanding of our budget. Once we booked, my husband and I also had the chance to get drinks with him and found out first hand how fun and real Phil is as a person as well. When we decided to move our wedding location to Chicago, he was super flexible and happily accepted the challenge. Throughout our wedding day itself, he took charge and helped us get all of the shots we wanted. We always felt raw and natural with him - never awkward and artificially posed. The very next day, he sent a preview of a few photos for us, so we didn’t have to wait weeks to get our first peek. Perhaps most importantly, he went above and beyond to share with us lessons and wisdoms from his own marriage and relationship with his wife Christa. We truly felt he was invested in us beyond our wedding day or the 9 hour block he was with us, and that he cared about our marriage and our relationship. I don’t have enough good words to say about Phil and the Portos team.
