h 2023 wedding when I realized I needed to find something new. I messaged The Powder Room on The Knot, desperate to find a vendor with availability on our date to do my hair and makeup. I think I lucked out being able to book them so late, probably primarily because my husband and I got married on a weekday. The Powder Room's coordinator Sarah responded to me pretty quickly and listened with care to my concerns and worries. This was a breath of fresh air after my previous vendor ignored my concerns. Sarah scheduled a trial with Rachel, the owner of The Powder Room, and Rachel, too, was genuinely invested in me being happy and looking like I wanted to on my wedding day. I had been so nervous after the previous bad experience that I was so extremely relieved to have someone sit down after the makeup was finished, and directly asked me to critique her work. What did I like? What didn't I like? How can we make you feel *even better*? As an introvert and non-confrontational person, it's sometimes hard for me to voice things about any changes I'd have done to a service, especially since I'm fairly inexperienced with makeup.
Later, my mother-in-law, sister, and sisters-in-law asked if they would be able to get their hair and makeup done with me the day of the wedding (we didn't otherwise have a bridal party). I was nervous about asking The Powder Room for even more services at last minute and tempered my family's expectations. But Sarah found a way to make it work! She brought in Raquel and Meagan to help do their hair and makeup. I was honestly so, so surprised with their willingness to cater to these requests: they clearly care about the happiness of their clients.
The day of my wedding, my family and I had wonderful experiences working with Raquel, Meagan, and Renee. Renee was able to give me exactly the look I was going for. She made me feel absolutely beautiful (and absolutely myself). I couldn't imagine a better outcome to what felt hopeless a month earlier with the other vendor. The Powder Room was considerate, courteous, professional, and helpful in making my day absolutely perfect, despite my coming to them so extremely late. I highly recommend The Powder Room as a bridal (and bridal party) hair and makeup vendor.

On the trial makeup and hair run through, she took her time and made sure I could voice any of my tweaks and changes, she made sure I loved it before she left and even on the day of the wedding, I could make changes if I wanted. My mother was a knockout and for two people that never wear a ton of makeup, she really took that into account and lets true beauty shine.

l. Communication with my hair stylist, Jen, and make-up artist, Meagan, was so prompt and professional! Jen was so efficient with doing my bridal hair as well as four bridesmaids' hair! Jen was also so relaxing and calming to be around - which was perfect since she was the first person I was interacting with on the morning of my wedding! Meagan was very sweet to work with and she was so responsive to my request for a more natural bridal make-up look since I don't typically wear a lot of makeup in everyday life. I also did a makeup trial with Meagan the week of the wedding, which I strongly recommend! It was great to do a test run prior to the wedding so I knew exactly what to expect on the wedding day. fter the trial. Speaking of the trial, I spent three hours on a Sunday doing the trial. The artist took photos of my hair and makeup and notes about what products she used and then she did not share those with the artists that were actually present to do my hair and makeup the day of the wedding. If my mother and I had not taken sub par photos on our phones, there would have been no record of my trial for the artists on the day of. That was disappointing and caused me unnecessary stress on my wedding day and made me feel like I wasted time some time and money with the trial. Thankfully the artists that did my wedding hair and makeup are very talented and were able to give me a look that was similar to the trial and that I was happy with.

Rachel’s team is also amazing! I had a big wedding party and I wanted each of my bridesmaids to pick their own unique look as my dress code was Met Gala. They all loved what they chose and each artist paid such great attention to detail.
Since I had a big party we started extra early at 7am for my 7pm New Year’s Eve wedding, I was initially very worried about the makeup lasting but I didn’t need any touch up at all! My makeup literally lasted all night long!
I cannot sing my praises for The Powder Room enough. You will not be disappointed when you book Rachel for any event you have!

so patient, kind, and delicate in placing and then removing my hairpiece in between look changes. She was right there during photos tweaking my hair (it was very windy) and touching up my makeup between outfit changes and ceremony to reception.
In addition to that, she ensured that all 10 WOMEN in my party (plus mom and MIL) were ready with hair and makeup done and out the door on time. Her team of people were great and made all the most important women in my life look and feel their best.
I am so grateful to have had Rachel and The Powder Room. I had no stress or worry in coordinating her and her team and she made me feel beautiful all day (and night) long.

o me and worked with me to help give me exactly what I wanted for my special day. Loved not having to worry or stress about any of it, knowing she was going to be wonderful. The hair and makeup lasted all day long and didn't look fakey/cakey at all.

her ASAP. She is so kind and hilarious not to mention SO FLIPPEN TALENTED! I told her my vision and she NAILED it! She even took the time to try different styles out on me.
