Purple Onion is the best of the best when it comes to food. Everyone raved about the appetizers, meals, and the dessert bar. They are second to none in terms of quality of their food. The catering staff was great and attentive during the wedding. Planning also went well for the first half of our experience but became much harder later on; we found it very difficult to get responses nearing the end of the planning process and were waiting for a final invoice 3 days before our wedding which became very stressful. We also experienced some chaos at the wedding where allergens were not checked before food made it to the floor and multiple people with tree nut allergies received meals with nuts and no one was aware until someone alerted us (the bride and groom) that there was an issue and we had our planner address it. We found out after the wedding that those guests never received new salads which was incredibly disappointing. Most importantly, we didn't receive an apology from the manager or anyone on the catering team. Given that the issue could have had major consequences if we hadn't been made aware, we really expected more from PO. It saddens me to write this because the food and the customer service early on was immaculate.
We would absolutely use PO for a future event, but I think we'd have to consider working with a different coordinator.
