We could not be happier with our experience at The RAS Hangar! From the first email to the last minute of the night, Kim’s communication was clear, prompt, and reassuring. She made planning feel easy, offering the most helpful suggestions without ever being pushy.
The amount of decorations and add-ons that they have available and ready to use really upped the value we got for our package booked.
On the day itself, Kim, Ryan, and Phoebe’s friendliness, attentiveness, and calm support made everything run smoothly - even when they had to jump into roles last minute as more than just hosts.
We felt genuinely cared for, and so many guests commented on how beautiful and welcoming the entire venue was. They are truly a five-star team.
Kim gave us, as the paying and hosting couple, so much respect in regards to family members’ additional requests and always gave us the first consideration in decision making for our weekend - this was incredibly considerate and a highly respectable way to run her business.
We cannot thank her enough for making our most perfect weekend a dream come true!

If I didn't get so hot so easily, it wouldn't have been a problem, but unfortunately I don't think I would have been able to make it through my wedding day without AC, especially since our wedding is in July!
Other than that, the venue was absolutely beautiful ,with pastures, trees, and even their animals - which is the exact vibe that we were going for.
We are sad that it didn't work out, but we wish you guys the best!

We completely understand that having air conditioning was an important consideration for an IL, July wedding, and unfortunately that ultimately made
The RAS Hangar not the right fit. We do want to reiterate, that in addition to being an event venue, The RAS Hangar is also a working heliport. The hangar itself was initially and purposefully designed with large doors and walls that open completely up on two ends of the hangar, allowing for wonderful airflow, an open-air feel when weather permits and all the views of the beautiful, private estate farmstead.
We also have a beautiful, fully climate-controlled Bridal Suite and Groom’s Room, both conveniently located and connected to the hangar. These spaces are included and available for the wedding party to enjoy throughout the entire weekend.
We are truly grateful that you took the time to share your experience and for the opportunity to meet you all! Although it’s unfortunate that we weren’t the perfect fit, we genuinely wish you both an absolutely beautiful wedding day surrounded by love and filled with wonderful memories! 🤍

He has catered for our own personal events, so having him send his son our way, we were truly honored! e natural space for the ceromony. The venue offers a variety of decor options to suit your preferences. The Hanger is exctremely spacious and has a barn facade. There are horses, an old truck, a fire pit and an outdoor patio space that adds to the ambiance. The hanger includes separate private spaces for the bride and the groom and their wedding party that were ideal for getting ready. There was plenty of room in the hanger for seating, a dance floor, a game space, and a bar area with cocktail tables. They even have a large screen at the back that we were able to broadcast basketball games since our date fell during March madness. The owners are extremely hospitable and available the entire evening to assist with vendors. The price is a GREAT value for the space. I highly recommend RAS Hangar to those planning a wedding or any large event!

ice are unmatched in our opinion.
The RAS books only one event a weekend so everything is available to you the day prior and day after your event. Big money saver if you wanted to use the space for rehearsal dinner and main event.
Second, the venue and surrounding space. RAS offers an all in one package for wedding and reception; however, we got married in Champaign and used the RAS for the reception. All our wedding photos were taken on the RAS grounds. Kim and Ryan will show you plenty of picturesque scenes based on the season. We had 350 guests with an outdoor cocktail hour and a mostly indoor meal and dance. There were no issues with parking, space management or flow.
Finally, the service. Kim allowed us to choose from her expansive stock of beautiful centerpieces and decorations to make our reception our own. Kim also has plenty of connections with various food vendors who are familiar with her space and will recommend based on your preferences. Lastly, Kim will make sure your day is absolutely perfect - we royally screwed up our seating arrangements and told Kim about it 24 hours before the reception. Kim didn’t sleep the night before the wedding as she fixed our problem and rearranged the entire venue. The guests never knew about how Kim flawlessly covered our mistake.
Don’t be afraid to ask for odds and ends – the flexibility, kindness, and care Kim and Ryan showed us made it extremely enjoyable for us, our families and guests. Whether you’re on a tight budget or ready to splurge, we found the RAS is ready to work with you.

ea to help with wedding planning, so Kim went above and beyond to help me with recommendations for other vendors and making all of the venue's decorations available.
We went with the three day package and it was extremely useful to be able to set things up the day before and pick up any last boxes/cars the morning after. No other venues we looked at had that sort of option available (for a reasonable price). We also ended up having rain around the ceremony time, but we were easily able to move the ceremony indoors and the weather still cleared up in time for us to do all of our pictures outside. We got some STUNNING photos in the trees and with the natural landscape around the venue. And inside the hangar the ambiance and lighting was beautiful. We also appreciated being able to make a really large dance floor, as this was really important to us when looking at venues.
This venue has a "getting ready room" for the bridal party AND one for the groomsmen, which was also something we really liked. Cell reception in the getting ready room was a little spotty for phone calls, so plan ahead for that. But the lighting was perfect for doing makeup and there were lots of mirrors to make it easier for everyone. The design of the room also made for some very aesthetically pleasing pictures.
Overall would highly recommend this venue.

Not only were there very quick with communication, they were also very helpful with our budget concerns and provided multiple other benefits many other venues do not. If you are looking for a perfect venue to have a ceremony and reception all in one place, this is definitely the place to consider. Another major perk they offer is the flexibility to have us bring our own catering and alcohol which really helped us manage our budget well. Thank you so much for everything Kim and Ryan.

Kim was amazing with communication even on wedding day. She sent me a text in the morning that basically said, we got everything you two just enjoy your day. That’s exactly how it went. These two venue owners are one in a million. From coordinating with the band, working with the food truck, to the bartenders and the officiant, their intentions to make it our best day was seen and felt by my husband and I.

k, casual yet nice. We were having food trucks and a party. They didn’t disappoint I anyway. The decor and space they offered was amazing, the yard games and property made our hot July wedding beautiful.
We didn’t have to bring in all your own decor and hall away, you didn’t have to stay after your wedding and clean up, you didn’t have to worry about setting up all the decor before hand. It really was the most relaxed day I could have asked for.
Our Dj didn’t have something to reach the venue that he needed and the Hanger was there to save the day.
Our food trucks pulled right up, and hand plenty of space! The bar staff was wonderful, talented, and made great mixed drinks.
My overall experience was for sure a 10, if you haven’t check out the RAS Hanger you really should give them a visit.

utiful outdoor spaces for pictures and they have a ton of decor you can use! They helped us set up, throughout the night and tear down the next day. I highly recommend contacting Kim and Ryan for all event space needs, but especially weddings :)

need! The venue itself is absolutely stunning. Kim helped us with additional decor and advice to give the venue that extra special touch. We received so many compliments from our guests about her staff and how helpful they were. She even accommodated to our grandparents who needed extra help getting to and from the outdoor ceremony location behind the venue. The bridal suite is very roomy and has the best lighting for hair and makeup. Our day was seriously a dream come true and Kim helped so much with making that dream a reality for us and we cannot thank her enough! I would highly recommend The RAS Hangar to anyone and everyone - near and far!

From the moment that we shook hands and started talking about our big day to the goodbye we waved as we drove away from our reception, Kim made all of our wedding planning a breeze. The hangar is gorgeous and features an abundance of beautiful places to take stunning photos. Our outdoor wedding was intimate and beautifully shaded by the trees on the property. Kim constantly communicated about decorations and even surprised us with a few special touches like only she can. The venue was open enough that everyone could spread out and have an amazing time. My wedding was PERFECT and I owe a huge amount to Kim and the RAS Hanger !!!
