Even with our high expectations, the Red Fox blew us away. You're welcome to read on, but the short of it is that we recommend them totally without reservation. First of all, we must give a special shout out to Ashley, who is the Events Director and is a superstar. She promptly responded to all our emails (of which there were many and very detailed!) with professionalism and enthusiasm. Through every step of our year-long correspondence she made us feel like she wanted the day to be special for us and she truly NEVER dropped the ball or forgot the smallest detail we had discussed. We barely remembered everything about our own wedding. She's the best!! The events staff at Red Fox are also wonderful. We got many compliments from our guests about them. They went above and beyond to distribute food and pie, keep wine glasses filled, and even change the film in our polaroid camera station. They are even in the background of some of our wedding photos smiling at us during our first dance. They set everything up and broke it down precisely on schedule and with great attention to detail. We could not have asked for more. The venue itself is also spectacular. The grounds are immaculate. They have someone on groundskeeping staff whose job appears to be to carefully remove fallen leaves from pathways and re-rake the pebbles. It's all worth it. The inn is really gorgeous and the courtyard gardens were a picturesque place to get married. We stayed in the Middleburg Cottage and it was great as well. There is a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, laundry facilities, and couches and a dining table to make hosting easy. Our guests stayed on the grounds, so we were able to invite MVPs to bring their breakfasts to eat with us the day of and the day after the wedding. Our guests told us that staying there felt like a getaway. The grounds are relaxing and fairly COVID-safe, with lots of room outdoors to hang out. We can't conclude without mentioning the food. The breakfasts were varied and bountiful, the passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious, and the dinner was sensational. Some people told us it was the best steak they had ever eaten. My aunt wanted the recipe for the vegetarian mushroom dish. We really wanted to serve good food, and the Red Fox came through for us.

e. We were looking for a venue that could host a 55-person wedding entirely outdoors, due to covid concerns. Ashley, the Red Fox's events coordinator, was a dream to work with. She was super responsive by email and phone and very friendly and professional. Our wedding was an absolute dream. The courtyard gardens were a stunning location for a wedding ceremony, and the reception tent was lovely. We brought in a seven-person band, so the stage and dance floor took up a decent amount of room in the reception area. All of our 55 guests were comfortable during cocktail hour + the seated dinner + dancing reception. If you are planning a larger wedding, I would just be aware that the tent is not a huge area, so if you choose to have a band it will definitely cut into the available space. Perhaps the best compliment we got from guests was related to the Red Fox inn's staff. Multiple guests told us how kind, helpful and responsive the staff were to whatever questions or concerns they had. The mother of the groom lost an earring in a grate just an hour before the ceremony, so she called the front desk. A staffer came running with chopsticks and saved the day by fishing out the earring! The bartenders and wait staff were so friendly and attentive -- a relief to us given concerns about the current hospitality worker shortage across the country. The food and beverages were top notch. The cake, provided by the Salamander resort, was delicious. And the cottage, which is provided for use by couples as part of the wedding booking, was charming. To sum it up, choosing to have our wedding at the Red Fox was the best decision. It was not cheap, but the end result was well worth the investment. Two thumbs up from some very happy newlyweds! :)

sts on the beautiful surroundings at the Inn, the food (the food is amazing) and the wonderful staff. We were able to spend four days at the Inn and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. The events team does a wonderful job checking in throughout the planning process and their experience in running events and working with vendors and planners shows throughout all the small touches that are part of the wedding package. The garden space was beautiful for our wedding ceremony and they were able to accommodate our guests for a reception with excellent attention to detail and COVID measures. Each space is unique in the Inn buildings and outside. The grounds lend themselves to wonderful photos and it was so nice to have the ceremony and reception in one venue for our older guests. We highly recommend this venue but most importantly all of the team at the Inn who made our day and overall stay very special.

made the process seamless and helped us across all aspects of the decision-making in the months leading up to the event. They were prompt in all email communications and helped drive the planning process, from selecting the cake/style to the menu to decor and ceremony/dinner music. I also can't speak highly enough about their day-of coordination and on-site staff. The morning of the wedding they notified me of a last-minute change in the menu, and they had custom menus reprinted in time for the ceremony. Our guests each had a hand-written welcome note in their rooms on the wedding day, and my fiance and I received two bottles of champagne in our rooms over the course of the weekend. Their day-of events manager made the coordination seem effortless, even without a wedding coordinator. The three-course dinner and Barboursville wine also made for an incredible dining experience. Impeccable service and an amazing venue location. We'll be returning for future weekend stays and highly recommend them for hosting your event.

Stunningly appointed (and very large!) rooms made the wedding night lovey and getting ready so fun and easy. Highly recommend!!!
