We had our rehearsal dinner at The Refinery and they were fantastic! Joy was responsive, easy to work with, and super helpful along the way. The venue was a beautiful, modern setting in the best location for our guests right in Culpeper. Highly recommend.

We had our NYE wedding at The Refinery and it was an absolute dream! Here’s why: 5-star Service & Style When you book at The Refinery, it is truly an all-inclusive package. I HIGHLY recommend booking the package with Bride and Joy. The venue already has so much in terms of décor and ambiance, and Bride and Joy is the icing on the cake with amazing ideas and rentals to really bring out the couples’ personality. The package also includes your day-of coordination team, which I can honestly say, is worth its weight in gold. The team is just incredible. Joy came with the bridal party for the “First look,” and gave recommendations of the best places to take photos, and held up my dress while we were walking around. During the planning stages, we had so many challenges with COVID. We planned our whole wedding from abroad, and Joy was so responsive, accommodating and flexible. She has everything down to a science; she asks all the right questions, offers solutions, and puts all of the right planning in motion to ensure your wedding day runs smoothly. She was even able to open up the new dancefloor in the venue right before our big day! Because of the COVID situation, many of guests were not able to attend. Joy offered to record the ceremony and upload it for our loved ones to watch. Our family and friends appreciated being part of our day even though they were not able to attend in person. The venue is also just stunning. The upstairs is fantastic with absolutely gorgeous bride and groom suites. It was amazing to get ready in such a lovely space. The downstairs area, arbors, greenery, reception tables, bar and beautifully decorated bathrooms are all perfect. There is even an outdoor area where you can order drinks from the bar through a window. The venue is so stylish and chic! Zero-stress Wedding Day I can honestly say that we were able to 1000% just enjoy our wedding day. I walked in the door on the day of the wedding, and Bride and Joy had set up all of the beautiful decorations. We had last minute décor additions, and Julie helped put together everything. She was absolutely incredible. There was so much going on behind the scenes, and I was oblivious to it all because The Refinery took care of EVERYTHING. At the end of the wedding, the team had all of our belonging and personal items packed and ready to load into cars. Our wedding party was so thankful that all of this was done, so they were able to enjoy the entire wedding. There are so many examples like this, and this service really is what makes a wedding day memorable. Location Hosting your wedding in downtown Culpeper is THE best. There are amazing hotels within walking distance of The Refinery that our guests loved (Suites at 249, Culpeper Center Suites, and airbnb’s with Let’s Go and Stay) and our groom’s party stayed at West Park Gardens. You have everything right downtown that you need for a wedding week: Skin Touch + Therapy Spa; Lotus Nail Spa; and Miss Minerva’s for a bridal luncheon. I was able to buy last-minute gifts and items for guest welcome bags all downtown. It is also a perfect back-drop for photos. We had a number of out-of-town guests, and it is so easy for guests to travel to Culpeper with easy access to Dulles airport and the Amtrak right downtown. Our guests loved downtown Culpeper with its breweries and restaurants. Choosing The Refinery was the best decision. It was truly an amazing experience for us and our guests. We can’t thank Joy and her team enough!

The Refinery is an absolutely beautiful space that just keeps growing. We were always excited to see what treat Joy had added since our last visit. That being said, Joy herself is reason enough to use The Refinery for your wedding/event/celebration. She takes the time to get to know you, know what you want out of your day and will do everything she can to make that happen. Our wedding ran like clockwork and we can thank Joy and her amazing staff for that. Our entire night was enjoyable and we were able to focus on enjoying each other and celebrating with our friends and family.

The Refinery not only met but exceeded each of my expectations. I could go on for days about what exactly was perfect about this venue but I'll highlight a few of my favorites: Joy and her amazing team - Joy Orr and her team are absolute ANGELS. They made sure everything was absolutely as we wanted it. Vendor relationships - there are also some awesome vendors that regularly partner with the Refinery and give you great deals to use their services. Plus, they are all local so there are no travel fees. I used NuGen Media for photo/video, Good Earth Flowers, Epic Sounds Entertainment for DJ, Two Sisters Coffee and Classic Catering. All amazing. Venue vibe - Its industrial, romantic, modern, chic and its simple enough that you can make it work for whatever vision you have. The town of Culpeper is also cute, especially at night. We got married 12/4 and all of the xmas lights were up. Our pictures down town turned out amazing! Additional package - Take advantage of the Bride and Joy package that you can add on. When we used it, it included the officiant, day of coordinator, decor, signage, staff, set up, tear down, cleaning, some bar stuff and SO much more. I had no headaches the day of because of this. Yes from Bride and Joy and her team are fantastic! You WILL NOT regret booking the Refinery!!!

The Refinery, Joy, Julie, and the whole team made our wedding so special. The venue is absolutely gorgeous - mixing simplicity, greenery, and the ability to adapt to any wedding style. The full wedding package was helpful with no hidden fees and came with SO much. The best part of the package (besides the fabulous space, getting ready rooms, and area downtown) was Joy and the coordination team. Joy, the owner, is incredible. She was so response leading up to our wedding and made us feel beyond confident throughout the whole weekend. Joy and the team are professional, assuring, positive, and so much fun!!! We highly recommend the Refinery!

Joy and her team are fantastic! They are extremely responsive, Joy answered every question I had and was calm and reassuring even as vendors were canceling left and right- she always had a solution. The day ran so smoothly (at some point I just expected something terrible to happen because it was suspiciously smooth). The ti elites are built with enough flexibility to make sure you aren’t feeling rushed at any point so you get to have the time to enjoy your wedding. The space is beautiful, and a bargain for everything it includes, if you are on the fence about booking- do it!!

Joy was absolutely incredible. The venue was beautiful and so perfect for our wedding. Joy was so easy to communicate with. She made our wedding day flow so smoothly and made sure everything was being taken care of. I cannot imagine how our wedding day would have gone without her. She truly cares about her clients and we can’t thank her enough for everything she did. Every single person at the wedding mentioned how beautiful the venue was. We would recommend The Refinery to anybody getting married!!!

This by far is one of the best venues you will ever find. The venue is absolutely stunning. Everything you need for the perfect event is here. Nothing can compare to Joy's hospitality, bright smile, and professionalism. I mean honestly Joy by herself without the venue is exceptional. Her staff is icing on the cake. She helped make everything so much easier. From her assistance with the pre-planning to the day of coordination for my wedding. She goes above and beyond for her clients. She makes you feel at home, and like family. This is one of the best decisions I could have ever made when it came to my wedding. Joy if you're reading this know you are amazing, and I am so glad to have met you. The love is in your work and it shows. Thank you for making my day so very special!

I don’t even know where to start but to say how Joy & her team are absolutely amazing. From the first tour at the venue I knew I needed to have my wedding there and work with Joy. She is truly amazing to work with and so kind and sweet. She truly cares about her couples and making sure we have the best day! Before and during this crazy pandemic she has answered a million plus emails with nothing but kindness and helpfulness. I wish I could get married here again. The wedding venue is absolutely breathtaking & absolutely everything I wanted in a venue (the day of was a dream)! If you are looking for a beautiful, industrial-rustic venue and someone who is going to make you feel at ease and go above and beyond for you, look no further!

The only wedding venue we visited, because we knew it was going to be the best one for our wedding! Everything was easy from start to finish, despite COVID, because Joy handled everything wonderfully. From answering our silly questions patiently and helping us prepare for the day of, to coordinating everything flawlessly day of to create a great event, we can't say enough about how happy we were with our experience!

We had our wedding at The Refinery and we couldn't have imagined a more perfect day. Joy is an amazing person! She's so wonderful to work with and takes care of every detail of the day. The venue itself is beyond beautiful, so we needed very little flowers or decor. I highly recommend Joy and The Refinery! I promise you will have an amazing experience.

Where do I even begin? The venue itself is beyond beautiful. My husband and I fell in love with it from the moment we walked in. It is the perfect mixture of industrial and modern. I never imagined that my wedding would ever be indoors, but now I could never imagine my wedding being anywhere else. Now onto the best part of the venue, Joy. I can't even explain how much she impacted the best day of my life. She answered every question I had throughout the whole process, helped me outline the entire thing, and made me feel at ease when I didn't know what decision to make. We also planned my wedding throughout a global pandemic, so we had at lot of talks on re-scheduling and re-working things so that they were safe and also made sense. When you have to reschedule your wedding and don't even know if you will be able to have it on the second date, you lose some of the excitement. She restored that for me, that's something I could never thank her enough for. As for the day of, everything ran SO smoothly and it was all thanks to her. She told me where to go, what to do, and made sure everyone was where they should be. In the nicest way possible. As a bride, nothing is more important than your day running smoothly and being beautiful. Booking with this venue will guarantee both of those things. If you are even considering this venue, it will be the best decision you make for your big day.

Joy, the owner of The Refinery, was the best thing that happened to us during our wedding planning process. Not only is the venue absolutely beautiful, but Joy goes above and beyond to ensure every little detail of your wedding day is planned and goes smoothly. Joy offers her day of coordinating in the pricing for the venue, along with many decorations that are complimentary. Our initial wedding date was postponed due to COVID, and Joy was flexible and accommodating. She immediately reached out to us and confirmed our new date. Due to restrictions because of COVID, our caterer could no longer serve our cocktail hour and buffet. When Joy heard about this, she immediately reached out to hire extra help at no cost to us, to ensure our day was exactly how we had initially planned. The Refinery is one of a kind, and Joy is top notch. We would highly recommend The Refinery to anyone looking for a beautiful and seamless wedding venue!

Joy and the Refinery Team are dream makers! From the first time we met, I knew we were in perfect hands to bring our wedding day to life. She took interest in the vision that we had and helped us troubleshoot through the logistics to bring it to life. With planning from out of state, Joy was there every step of the way from answering any questions we had, giving us vendor recommendations, assisting with vendor communication to make sure the details we were planning with our vendors would successfully work within the venue and assuring us that we could just be present in every moment of our wedding day and she would run the show for us. The Refinery is gorgeous! It is the perfect balance of urban industrial and romantic charm and sets as the perfect backdrop to bring any vision and style to life. We can’t think of anything we would have done differently on our wedding day. The owner of the Refinery at 120 is the most kindhearted person my husband and I have ever met. When we first heard "Day of Coordinator", we could not think of the right definition of that phrase until we met Joy. She helped us plan every single detail of our wedding from coordinating with other vendors, to planning photo details, DJ info, catering, florist details, photo and video, organizing our families, redirecting our guests etc. Our families were so appreciative of Joy and the way that she handled our wedding. My husband and I are forever grateful to her for all that she did to make our dream wedding a reality. The Refinery at 120 in Culpeper is a great venue with amazing flooring, lighting, and also comes with complementary decorations for great pictures for guests and families. All you need to make your wedding and event come to life is here at the Refinery at 120!! Joy was professional, friendly, detail oriented, funny, and overall just good at what she does and she does it joyfully. We highly recommend The Refinery!
