day October 20, 2019 and we did in fact have the perfect wedding. From Karla's first message to me introducing herself and scheduling our first appointment we were taken care of like we were the only event she had to plan. Any question or any concern we had, Karla responded to me swiftly and with as much as care as if we had known each other all of our lives. The weekend of our wedding she messaged and told me to keep calm and I was a rock star (what a smile she put on my face) however, when we arrived that Sunday morning I found out that she, in fact, was the actual rock star. My whole bridal party was overcome with emotion at the beautiful display. It was more than perfect. Karla asked if we had any concerns and at this point I had to tell her there had been a hiccup and the individual that was supposed to play our music was not going to be there and within minutes Micah stepped up without hesitation and said we will take care of you. He meant it. We knew we didnt have to worry another minute about our music. As our bridal party spent the entire day at the resort soaking up the beautiful day, the staff served us lunch and if we needed anything they provided it to us with smiles and sweet words. At 5:45 our wedding went off without a hitch, music included. We had the taco and smores bar for the reception and it was so delicious. The bartender was a delight and the drinks were incredible. He even mixed up something special for my husband and I. It was the most beautiful and perfect night. Micah, Karla, and the staff set the bar very high, I cant imagine any other resort would be comparable. At the end of the day we did make life long friends and intend on being at the resort for the other magnificent events they put on. From the the bottom of our hearts, Cary and I thank you for giving us a perfect day, it was truly magical.

Since being located in St. Louis area, it was difficult to always check in on things like most brides would want to do, but Karla was always open to hearing my questions/concerns via phone and made it very stress-free. I was very particular with what I had envisioned for my special day and I appreciated all the hard work and support from Karla and Micah. Our group was more focused on the party side and let me tell you, the bartending staff (and rest staff for that fact) did not disappoint! All that they do at The Resort is worth it and makes things more easy going in order for you to absorb and enjoy your day/night. I couldn’t imagine having my dream wedding anywhere else in Southern Illinois. I’m still in awe of all the memories and love we experienced with everyone that came and supported us.

The food was fabulous and we’re still getting compliments on it. The bartenders had so many things to choose from, including some wonderful punch flavors. They were super friendly and accommodating. The decor was exactly what we wanted and our pictures turned out beautifully. Everyone keeps telling us that it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. Unforgettable venue. ried at The Resort on June 23, 2019 and it was a literal dream. Karla and the girls set our reception up exactly as I had imagined and I’m SO happy and thankful for how everything turned out - rain included. Karla, Micah, and all of the other staff made the day flow seamlessly - and if there were any hiccups we had no clue. Karla was EXTREMELY helpful to get us anything we needed as well as answer any questions we had during the planning process.
Also, tip! If you are having a laid back reception - PLEASE try the taco bar or pizza bar. Both are phenomenal. Our guests LOVED it and they’re still talking about it.
I could go on with endless love for this weekend place and it’s staff. Go find out for yourself.

nd wedding planner) were when it came to planning our wedding. They really listened to my vision of how I wanted my wedding to be portrayed.
The property itself is just so breathtaking and it really impressed not only me and my husband, but our family and friends. It’s actually really nice that I didn’t have to buy a ton of decorations, which they have plenty of rental decorations as well. When it came to food we really took advantage of mixing several different options because everything was just so tasty! We really loved having the late night snack, I know I’m personally a snacker and this was a great option.
As a bride you always have worries and concerns and I loved that again Micah and Karla listened to me and had several options on how to make me feel worry free.
And let’s be honest weddings don’t usually go “perfectly” and whenever there were hiccups they had such an amazing team to immediately fix anything!
Another great feature to this venue is they have several cabins on the property and I highly suggest taking advantage of them. It was so helpful to be able to have family, friends, and those who live far away to stay in the cabins and have a wedding weekend celebration!
There are so many activities to do on the site, we rented a pontoon boat for the Friday before the wedding and everyone had a blast. There are also canoes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and plenty more fun activities.
Trust me, if you choose this venue you won’t be disappointed!

The lake itself is lovely, and the scenery surrounding the lake is just as perfect. The area indoors is gorgeous as well. We ended up needing to have our reception indoors due to chilly temperatures, and it was beautiful inside as well. Planning was as stress-free as wedding planning can be. Karla was amazing and so responsive. She would always answer my texts with super minor questions any time I needed her. Micah and Karla were both super accommodating and did everything they could to make our day perfect. The space was gorgeous and all our guests commented on how beautiful everything was. The food is delicious. It was even better at the wedding than it was when we tasted it. The bartenders were quick and friendly. Overall, our day was everything We had dreamed of. I would give this venue 6 stars if I could.

I was able to plan my dream wedding thanks to the everyone at The Resort at Egyptian Hills! They helped take care of every detail leading up to the wedding.
On the day of the wedding everything was perfect! The Resort itself is just breathtaking with the natural beauty that surrounds it. All my guests gushed on how beautiful everything was.

lanning a wedding across the country would be stressful. NOPE. Karla and Micah and the rest of the team at Egyptian Hills Resort are AMAZING. They take care of everything... food, decorations (but they also give you the freedom to bring your own), drinks, SMORES BAR (which was amazing), etc.
Karla, the wedding planner, made it so that I and the rest of my family could relax and ENJOY our special day. She took care of the coordinating with the DJ, everything. There wasn’t one moment when I stressed out as the bride.
The prices are reasonable. Especially when they take care of pretty much everything! They are willing to negotiate and work with you to make a decision that benefits everyone. I HIGHLY recommend this resort. The facility is breathtaking, the accommodations are great, the the customer service is on point!

the cabins. Those not in the wedding enjoyed the complimentary kayaks & paddleboards and rented a pontoon boat. The outdoor wedding was lovely and the indoor reception was beautifully decorated. The only time you realized you were in a rural setting was when you looked out at the sun setting on the water. The sparkler sendoff was unique. We all enjoyed it so much we are considering coming back for a family reunion next year. Thank you Karla & Micah for accommodating us in every way...including our Bulldog of Honor!

You no longer need to choose. This place has all of that. I was initially leery with how rural this resort was, I though it would be beautiful but that we would have to camp in tents and pack in our own food.
Not so! Many beautiful little cabins that can accomadate a full wedding party. Huge reception area, amazing platform for the ceremony, spacious dance floor. Amazing food and drink available and really good service. And it is litterally right on the lake!
Micah, clearly you have put your heart and soul in to making this the perfect wedding venue. We had an amazing time.

Everyone at The Resort was always so helpful in the planning of our wedding. From picking out the food that the wonderful Chef Lou would cook for us, to where the musicians would set up for the ceremony and where the guests would sit, everything just went smoothly.
My bridesmaids and I rented a cabin to stay in the night before the big day. It was so much fun to be able to stay on location and have one last girls sleepover. The cabin provided a space for us girls to relax, hangout, share some drinks and get all dolled up for our wedding the following day. The guys had their own cabin to be able to do the same.
We had over 500 guests at our wedding and everyone fit perfectly and was well accommodated!! I can't tell you how many people have told us that we had the most gorgeous, laid back, fun wedding!! The food was amazing, the view was incredible and the staff was spectacular!!
