Great venue and location. However the director, Leslie and her staff (Satchel) fell very short of expectation. They did not follow through on promises made, were not the best at commucnation and admitted to over serving guests at the event. Be sure to get everything in writing before booking. The BnB had many issues with it including ac, again be sure to get a good agreement signed before booking.
I loved The Riley Building’s location and everything about the space! We just had a difficult time with the management. Between the time we booked the location and the wedding, there were at least 3 different managers, only one of which showed up for a single site visit. We were also asked the same questions regarding our liquor package from multiple people, which didn’t install much confidence leading up to our wedding. While I thought the wedding was a success, I didn’t find out until afterwards that the AC wasn’t on when guests arrived and it was hotter inside than outside (our wedding was in June). I still loved the space and I think it’s a really cool venue, so I hope they get staffing figured out or at least improve their communication.
As you all know from reading the reviews. My name is Brandon Cohen have ran “The Riley Building” for almost 2 years. I have terminated my contract due to failure to being paid my owed amount! They have now held over $40,000+ of my commissions and pay from me for over 3 months..I turned this venue from a simple wedding venue to what it is today. Please be careful with each contract moving forward with them. They are not answering and lawyers are silent. This is why I am posting this, not only for them to see, but for you to be cautious about anything agreed upon with them! Read reviews and you will see my name Brandon Cohen all over it. I wouldn’t just be doing this for no reason Thank you.

The Riley is a beautiful and unique venue right in the heart of downtown Austin. We absolutely loved the location, which was not only super convenient for our 90% out-of-town guest list, but the city skyline was a gorgeous backdrop for our rooftop reception. A crucial selling point for me was the fully retractable glass roof in the case of inclement weather. I am not a fan of tents, and the Riley's rainy day backup plan does not take away from the beauty of the view. The team at the Riley is great. Brandon was super responsive to all communication, and he and Jordyn really bent over backwards to help us when an issue came up the month before the wedding. I also booked the Riley House next door for my bridal suite, and Satchel was so helpful with any questions we had, reachable by text at any time of the day or night. If you're looking for a modern, city vibe for your wedding, this venue is absolutely ideal.
We had our wedding at The Riley Building in October 2022, and it was amazing! The Riley is an extremely versatile space. We had our ceremony and cocktail on the rooftop, dinner on the second floor, and then reception back on the rooftop. The coordinators had great communication throughout the process and we couldn't have been more happy with the entire weekend. Highly recommend renting The Riley Building for your next wedding or event!
We had our reception at The Riley in February 2022. It was a cold and rainy night, but with the weatherproofing of the rooftop and the heaters made it so the party continued without any setbacks! We originally planned a wedding at The Riley building in February 2021, but had to cancel due to Covid. They were super flexible and mad it an easy choice to keep the booking at The Riley. The space is exactly what we were looking for and you cannot beat the location! Carly was easy to work with and I can not recommend The Riley Building enough!
I got married at The Riley Building on NYE 2021. We loved that the space is industrial and offers a blank-slate to customize - we brought in a ton of greenery and went for an "industrial-garden" vibe. We also loved that the space is weather-proof - the rooftop is retractable, there's mesh siding on the rooftop if weather is bad, there are heaters/fans. We really appreciated this since TX weather can be unpredictable, and weather was completely removed as a possible concern. The events director, Carly, was communicative with both myself and my wedding planner throughout the entire planning process. She was very flexible in letting us come to the space to check it out with vendors or so I could show my family when they came into town in the months prior to the wedding. Our guests all loved the space and the backdrop it provided for the event.
