I was initially hesitant to reach out to someone I didn’t know to officiate our wedding, but Robbin immediately put me at ease. From the very beginning, he took the time to get to know us as a couple and met with us on multiple occasions to make sure he understood our relationship, our vision, and our preferences for the ceremony. He was incredibly thoughtful about incorporating everything that was important to us while still making the ceremony feel completely natural and personal.
Robbin also ran our rehearsal and did an amazing job making sure everyone knew exactly what they were supposed to be doing on the wedding day. His organization and calm presence made the entire process feel so easy and stress free.
On our wedding day, Robbin somehow made it feel like my husband and I were the only two people in the room. The ceremony was the perfect mix of sentimental, playful, and full of joy. It felt so genuine to us and reflected our relationship perfectly. We couldn’t have asked for a more meaningful or memorable ceremony.
Not only did we absolutely love Robbin, but our guests did too! We have continued to receive the highest compliments about our ceremony, with many guests specifically mentioning how wonderful Robbin was.

I am equally supportive of same-sex couples as well as couples that may be of differing ethnic backgrounds, or religious beliefs. Traditional or not' religious or nonreligious, all ceremonies are special.

was so personal.
In fact, the first time we'd been face-to-face was at the rehearsal the day before! We both live out of state but came into Michigan for the wedding. Robbin had met with us on Zoom a few times beforehand, first to discuss what we wanted for the ceremony and, several weeks later, to go through his plan and speech in more detail--a touch we very much appreciated. He was curious and interested in our personalities and the story of our relationship, eager to incorporate readings we wanted, and ready with advice and guidance on the flow of the ceremony.
Robbin has a worksheet for couples to fill out before the first meeting with some information about what they want in the ceremony and details about their relationship: how they met, what they love about each other, challenges, etc. All that got woven into the ceremony in a thoughtful and natural way. He was funny but didn't steal the spotlight--the occasional jokes showed understanding of our relationship and, if anything, heightened the focus on us.
He was so warm and friendly every time we spoke and seems genuinely happy for us.
A note: Robbin was wonderful about honoring different traditions. My husband is Catholic, as are many people in both our families, and I am one of those vaguely "spiritual but not religious" people. We both wanted some kind of ritual. Robbin offers a handfasting ceremony with a symbolic braided cord that we both found deeply satisfying. (He explains the significance of each color if you're interested in that approach.)

I think this is the detail anyone considering Robbin should hear: we had tons of people ask us after the ceremony how Robbin knew us so well. "Is he your neighbor? A family friend?" No - he's just an incredible professional and friendly person who's a rock star at what he does. We also had many people say they loved our hand fasting component of the ceremony and even remarked that they'd looked for someone to do it for them on their day too but couldn't find someone. Robbin does it all. We wouldn't change a single detail about our ceremony and we're grateful to Robbin for supporting us and glad we got to learn a bit about him, too!
PS - Robbin is also very good at covertly handing tissues to you if you need them during your ceremony.

eone that could make it seem like they had known us for years. Someone that would take in all of the personal details about us and tell a story. He had people laughing, smiling, and crying throughout our ceremony - all for the right reasons!
We also presented an odd request - to do a tequila shot during the ceremony! This is something that had a story behind it was very special to us. He absolutely nailed it and worked it into his speech so flawlessly so that it made it seem normal.
We also had a unexpected event happen during our ceremony that he handled very well. He was professional and compassionate, we got so many compliments on how he acknowledged the incident, then proceeded without missing a beat. He was truly the prefect person for the job and I would recommend him every single time.

After reading his reviews and description on the Knot, he seemed like a great fit for my husband and me. After meeting him in person, it solidified it even more. He was so willing to learn about us--our ticks and our strengths-- and what makes our relationship special. His resulting ceremony was INCREDIBLE; a mix of heartfelt & genuine, and yet light & entertaining. We got so many compliments, and a lot of people asked if he knew us personally. We'll always hold a special place in our hearts for the man that married us! Robbin nailed it and we are so grateful for him.

Just from speaking with him on the phone, I knew he was the one I wanted to officiate my wedding. Robbin is very flexible and accommodating when it comes to scheduling. We met with him after work hours on a weekday which worked for us and I’m sure most working couples. After only one meeting, he put together the most beautiful ceremony. It was like he had known us for a long time and our guests felt that way as well. All we asked for was a simple ceremony that was personal and reflected us.. and Robbin did just that! Our guests were smiling, laughing and crying (in a good way) throughout the ceremony all thanks to Robbin! Please check one item off your to do list today and call The Rite Officiant! children! He included them in something called a ribbon ceremony where our children were each represented by a color. They loved it! There was not a dry eye at the ceremony! The vows that Robbin created for my husband and I were personal and beautiful. I could not believe he could blend making our marriage ceremony about my husband and I and our family. The day of our wedding, I was incredibly nervous, like all bride's are on their big day, Robbin made time to make sure I was alright. He was very comforting and I cannot stress how important that is. Another quality of Robbin's that I valued was his ability to make us all laugh in a time filled with heavy emotions while also remaining professional.
