The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland

First, I have to comment Amelia, the event planner that we worked so closely with at the Ritz. She went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure our events were perfect! Between scheduling Zoom calls (I was an out of town bride) to staying in constant touch with us via text, she truly is the most incredible event planner and an amazing asset to the Ritz. You are in good hands with her! Beyond Amelia's incredible work, the rest of the Ritz staff ensured that I felt like absolute royalty during both events. They were beyond helpful in transporting decorations, flowers, and gifts. If given the opportunity to have my wedding over again, I would choose to have it at the Ritz.

time I was travelling out of town every week for client work and lived in Chicago. We had limited weekends to get things done and Emily and her team were extremely flexible and supportive. The communication was always clear. We knew what was done and what we still needed to do. The tasting was a blast and we felt very valued. In the final days the Ritz team made sure we were comfortable with all the plans and were available for all questions. On the day Emily was on hand to handle any last minute details and the reception was beautiful. The attention to detail was incredible and we constantly heard positive feedback from our guests in the weeks after the reception. We had a fabulous time and would absolutely recommend the location and the people to anyone looking for a reception venue. Thank you!

edding. The wait staff was so helpful. They even sent us brand new dinners to our room when they saw we hadn't had much of a chance to eat. Most of our guests were from out-of-town, so we wanted the night to be something worth traveling for, and it was! Lindsey, our planner, was very helpful throughout the whole process. She even made sure that we had a Bridal ready room for my bridesmaids and myself to get ready in the morning of. It was a great day all around.

When we were choosing a venue, we were looking for a place that would make for a truly wonderful experience for our guests (as almost all were traveling from out of town), The Ritz Carlton truly wowed each and every one. if you are looking for a venue to take care of EVERYTHING for you the day of your wedding so that you can relax and enjoy yourself, then you must get married at The Ritz Carlton !

Severance, to the Botanical Gardens, to other hotels, to the Club at Hillbrook, and none compared to the Ritz-Carlton in the combination of elegant appearance, luxurious service, and downtown glamour. The convenience of having a hotel wedding cannot be understated, but the fact that the Ritz-Carlton is tucked away grants it an exclusivity and a uniqueness that completely differentiates it from other hotels. From our initial visit to our tasting, and other planning meetings in between, we were treated like royalty. This treatment continued for our guests and wowed everyone who attended. The hotel is completely renovated as of late 2016, and the ballroom is impeccably decorated - the furniture (especially in the pre-function space) looks like furniture that you might pay to rent for a party. The food is exquisite not only in taste but in decoration. The white-gloved butlers who assist guests throughout the night make an incredible impression, and the hotel is simply gorgeous. The hotel is just the most incredible package when it comes to hosting a wedding. In addition to this, the brunch the morning after in the Riverview Room was incredible - not only is the spread wonderful, but the room set up looks more beautiful than I could have imagined! The staff moved all of our floral arrangements into the room so that we could enjoy them again, and they brought all desserts from the evening prior and to-go bags for guests so that nothing went to waste. Everything is presented with complete grace and beauty - I cannot stress enough what a wonder it was to have my wedding at the Ritz!! Working with Janna Woo, the wedding coordinator at the Ritz, is seamless, and she is incredibly kind and helpful in making sure that every element of the wedding goes smoothly and just how the bride imagines. I would recommend the Ritz to any bride wishing to have a glamorous, downtown wedding!!

ored to how it looked in the 30's. It's loaded with character and charm. It's a great venue for a couple who wants a unique wedding. The service was absolutely outstanding, they have a wedding butler standing by on the wedding day to take care of the bride/groom's needs. The guests were all commenting on the terrific service. It's not a cheap venue, but compared to the other hotel run venues it's not much more for a way better looking venue, excellent food, and outstanding service.

wedding coordinator Emily, was such a pleasure to work with and showed poise at every step. We had the ceremony in the Ball room and the reception to follow. I was very skeptical about the room change over. But they did! And they made it look stunning.

visits were all over the place: Rock & Roll HoF, Severance Hall, Botanical Gardens, country clubs, museums, and several downtown hotels. After weighing the pros and cons of the various locations and considering that Ohio Mays can involve dreadful weather we decided to keep all wedding-related activities to a small area (i.e., Public Square). We also decided that having a hotel reception made the most sense and narrowed our final selection to the three Marriott hotels on Public Square: The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland, The Renaissance Cleveland Hotel and the Marriott at Key Center. When push came to shove the Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland (R-C) was our final decision for three key reasons: 1) The Ritz-Carlton brand is synonymous with beyond excellent service and high quality experiences 2) The R-C had the least "hotely" feel of the three hotels 3) Valet at the Renaissance is a nightmare following an event The customer service aspect of the Ritz-Carlton was evident from the moment I submitted the online request form for a wedding. R-C responded back to me within hours, whereas the Renaissance and the Marriott both took several days (in the case of the Marriott I submitted my RFP three times before finally receiving a response). We promptly scheduled a walk-through as the last stop on a whirlwind Friday of venue visits—and I guess the saying is right, save the best for last. Maybe we were tired after talking to many venues and driving around Cleveland. Maybe we just wanted to make a decision. Or maybe it was the welcome champagne when we arrived in the lobby to meet with David? Who knows what "it" was, but I truly feel we made the right decision for our non-destination wedding in Cleveland. Our event coordinator, Emily, was fabulous. She was so professional at all times—and did an excellent job of rounding up the cast of characters involved in the wedding planning process. I cannot say enough positive comments about Emily. All details leading up to the "day of" were coordinated through Emily (which is why her professional attitude and organizational skills were key). I gave her the names of our florist, cake person, photographer and DJ, and she took it from there. It was fabulous having the built-in coordinator because I truly had little to worry about. Two days before the event we dropped off several boxes of gift bags, menus, favors—and Emily took care of everything. The only negative experience we had during the "planning" phase was directly related to a hotel management change, not the event planning team. We were told when we signed the contract we could reserve an unlimited number of rooms that would simply be let go one month in advance of the wedding if unreserved. When the time came to reserve our block we were told we could only reserve 20 rooms and had to push the sales staff to get a block of 50. Emily was unfortunately stuck in the middle of this situation and eventually she was able to secure our 50 rooms. It was aggravating but worked out in the end. The event itself went fantastically well! Guests enjoyed the party, my fiancé and I were unstressed and the hotel staff kept our glasses full. It was an overall wonderful experience and the R-C definitely lived up to their reputation of excellent service and high quality experiences!

However the food served at our event was not great. I have to say, that the food we requested was not what they usually offer in their packages, so it was a real stretch for them. Regardless, we had THREE different tastings with the chef to get the food right and we were pretty happy at the final tasting. But the food at the event was nothing like the tasting. And even our guest made some comments about the food. I think if we had served a menu that the chef was more used to making maybe the food would have been better but we're still very disappointed at the quality of the food served. For the price we paid we expect higher quality. Also you should expect to be heavily overcharged for minor additions.

We plan to use the Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland for future events, and highly recommend them to any bride and groom who desire the best of the best.

I was 110% satisfied with everything. In fact, it was better than I imagined. The service was top-notch from the first showing we had there, to the tasting, to the big day! The food was great and with them, anything was possible. The only downside, the dance floor could have been bigger.
