Founded in 1997, this group is comprised of several talented musicians who share a passion for live jazz. Intending to preserve this traditional style of music, they have been performing for more than two decades. These artists have played at many of Charleston's most notable venues, including the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island and Hibernian Hall.
The River City Dixieland Jazz Band strives to bring energy and enthusiasm to every event, helping to create a great atmosphere while having fun in the process. They offer a selection of well-known and celebrated classic jazz hits, such as Bourbon Street Parade, and Down by the Riverside. Romantic moments during the reception can be set off with tender tracks such as Its a Wonderful World. With classic songs and talented performers, couples can expect their dancefloor to be full all night.

The best money I spent at my wedding! Our wedding was at magnolia plantation, the veranda house and we booked RCDL band. We kept these fine gentleman a secret and surprised our fam...
ilies and guests. We planned a mardi gras style entrance to our cocktail hour complete with umbrellas led by river city Dixie land. The band was so flexible and excited for our entrance. They absolutely made our wedding and kicked off a great night of dancing. I have no critiques for them except that they should charge more! so reasonable and incredibly easy to work with. thank you Phil and the guys!!!
We had The River City Dixieland Jazz Band play our ceremony and our cocktail hour....all I can say is wow!! These guys are amazing! We held our ceremony outdoors at The Confederate...
Home courtyard in downtown Charleston, so we knew we wanted live musicians for the outdoor space. Being huge fans of New Orleans-style jazz, this band was perfect! After the ceremony ended, we immediately did a second-line style street parade (with the band and all of our guests) down the beautiful cobblestone streets of Charleston to our reception venue (Marion's), which was about four blocks away. It was so much fun to have the band playing our way through the streets....we had such a great time and our guests did too! The band then kept the energy up and played a set during cocktail hour. They are so talented, and you could really tell they we having fun playing for us. They were easy to work with during the planning stages....very receptive to our song ideas and good at giving suggestions. Having them be part of our wedding day made the day so special and memorable for us and for our guests. Would HIGHLY recommend!!
