The Roof Raisers variety band

We play contemporary and classic pop, rock, r&b, C&W, jazz and latin songs. We have played for over 1000 wedding receptions. The band started in 1986 and is led by drummer / vocalist Gene Glover. Gene has a masters in music degree from UNT. Our goal is to be fun, flexible and easy to work with. We keep our cost down by owning our own sound and lighting system and the truck that moves our gear. We can play a wedding with the core 6 piece band or expand up to 12 pieces. We can provide extra services for your reception. We charge extra things as a line item and not an "all or nothing" price. We can provide high end music and entertainment at a very affordable rate. We can learn a special song or two and each reception is customized to every couple's personal taste.

Gene Glover and his band NEVER let us down!! From the day I spoke to him through the wedding night...Roof Raisers were Awesome!! Gene worked with me tirelessly to make a great playlist. His band even learned a new song for "the first dance"!!...

Very good value for the money spent. Many of our guests were so impressed that they will use them for their son/daughter's wedding. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!

sax players will come out onto the dance floor during some songs too to amp up the dancing, start a congo line, lead a line dance, whatever! They also didn't flinch when a college friend of ours asked them during the cake cutting if he could sing "Some Kind of Wonderful" with them (which was one of the highlights of the whole night!). Now, two months later, our friends still talk about how amazing our band was and how much fun they had because of the music :) Can't ask for more than that!

First of all, I have to list my bias, which is that I am a big music guy. And I have very specific ideas about what makes a good band/party in terms of the music. The Roof Raisers met and exceeded all of my expectations. First, they were very e...

asy to work with. Gene, our contact person and drummer in the band, met with us early and discussed what we wanted from our wedding. They were willing to learn a few songs for us, and during breaks, played songs we wanted from an ipod. As for the quality of the music, the band sounded fantastic. Singers, horn players, drums, guitars, everything worked. Also, they know exactly how to get a party going. At about hour 3 of the reception, I stepped back from the dance floor and looked to see that EVERYONE was dancing and enjoying themselves. At the end of the night, there wasn't a single person that wanted the party to end, and our band was the biggest part of that. I can't thank them enough and would hire them for any other event in a second.
