The Ruins at Kellum Valley made our wedding dreams come true! It’s truly a magical place with stunning views and the most amazing staff. Our guests continued to talk about the wedding for months after, saying it was the most beautiful and most fun wedding they’ve ever been to. DeAnne went above and beyond, answering my millions of questions with kindness and patience. I have hundreds of favorite things about this venue, but to list a few: there are multiple ceremony site options to suit your style; the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception can all take place in different walkable areas of the property, making it fun for the guest to explore the beautiful venue; the staff is a well oiled machine, making everything run SO smoothly; a lot of the details are included in the package - the cake, catering, tables, linens, chairs, silverware, golf carts for elderly transportation, a contingent rain plan, a day-of coordinator; two designated areas for the bride and groom to get ready the morning of the wedding; and there’s an amazing prop room to help complete your wedding aesthetic. Because of the venue's amazing services, you could get away with only needing a photographer (I highly recommend The Stewarts Roam - featured in my review photos), a DJ/band, and a florist (I recommend Flowerbuds, they're local to the venue and work there all the time). I could not recommend this venue more! 10 out of 10, 10000%.
Our daughter’s wedding seems like a fairy tale, as I remember the details from May as a blur, but I will also remember the beautiful setting and loving support from Deanne Major and the staff at The Ruins at Kellum Valley! The day we met for a tour of the grounds and facilities at The Ruins, Carson and Andrew fell in love with the location because of its prominent position with a soft view of the north Georgia mountains, the open field bordered with arbors of trees, the farmhouse and barns, and of course, the historic ruins and pool deck. They were sold on the location; my husband Frank and I were sold on the way that Deanne Major assured us that with vast experience, organization, and contacts, she and her staff could guarantee a lovely wedding, no matter what the circumstance. THEY DELIVERED!
Because of a history of success in the hospitality field, Deanne remained a calm and prepared whisper above the static chaos of wedding preparation! Every time I asked a “what if” question, she answered with a confident, “We take care of that!” What a relief! With that experience, staff, and director, Haili, we saw that many small details “fell into place,” as we were caught up in the joy of celebration! The collaboration with Honeybrook Catering, Cynthia Cakes and Cookies, and Flower Buds was extraordinary! We were absolutely pleased with not only the service and product quality, but the way that they worked together to create a beautiful experience! I didn’t even need a planner! All the big details were handled with competence!
We are thankful to Deanne Major for giving us the promised product. That was so important, as the time that we were planning the wedding was scary and uncertain. Covid-19 was a constant dark cloud over our thoughts of perfect plans. never wavered or questioned that everything would be lovely and as near perfect as you could deliver. We did battle through a painful year of Covid circumstances and last-minute threats (bride and groom’s house destroyed by a storm 10 days before the wedding, reports of 17-year cicada emergences, and sudden gas shortages), but the day of the wedding was PERFECT! Mask mandates had been lifted, there was enough gas in the area, cicadas did not show, and the weather was magnificent for May! It was a dream come true as prayers were answered!
It’s smart that with a limited number of weddings a year at this venue, they can ensure that The Ruins at Kellum Valley will be a part of a dream-come-true experience for some star-gazed couples!
The venue and staff were amazing the whole year while planning our wedding! They answered every single email promptly and were very organized and prepared for everything. Everything was stress free, thanks to them. Our day couldn’t have been more perfect.
Had the most wonderful wedding day at Kellum Valley! Absolutely beautiful venue with the most friendly staff. DeAnne was amazing and answered everyone of my million questions and emails in a very timely manner. The wedding day went so smoothly and I wish I could do it all over again!
We are Florida residents but our favorite place is “the mountains” we love the North Georgia area so much that we wanted our wedding in our favorite area. Being from Florida I actually didn’t even visit The Ruins before booking. I searched several places online and The Ruins stole my heart...and all I did was look at online photos. I actually didn’t physically see the venue until the tasting I did a tour and when I tell you the online venue photos do this place NO JUSTICE I MEAN YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO EVEN REALIZE THAT THIS PLAVE IS SO MUCH MORE THAN PRETTY ONLINE PHOTOS. It’s absolutely stunning. The stock room with all the beautiful decor was awesome and I literally stopped buying decor after I took a look at what all they had, the food catering is some of the best food I’ve ever tasted and the cake was phenomenal. Then the wedding day came...we had Kallie(not sure of spelling) as our coordinator for the day. Let me ya if your lucky enough to have her for the day consider yourself so lucky because she was more than I could have ever asked for!!! I was truly able to ENJOY my wedding day and had NO STRESS at all thanks to her. Between DeAnne and all her staff our wedding day was beyond any expectations we could have ever dreamed. I had a vision of my wedding day and they made it happen. I would recommend this place to ANYONE wanting the perfect venue.
DeAnne and her wedding coordinator Haili were amazing. Everything was absolutely perfect, and they did not miss a single detail that I wanted included in the day. They were so easy to work with and some of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. I love everything about the Ruins at Kellum and would 100% recommend it to anyone without any reservations.
DeAnne and the staff ensured our wedding was magical! They were always responsive throughout the planning phase, and day of was present when they needed to be and phased out when they werent needed. It rained on our day, but DeAnne and her crew (Amber was our day of coordinator) were AMAZING about ensuring we got into the Ruins for our reception. I would LOVE to live it all over again, and wouldnt change a thing. SO happy we chose The Ruins and Kellum Valley Farm.
The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm not only made our special day amazing, they also made the planning as simple as possible. Everyone was fantastic to work with and always available for any questions or concerns. They have all of the logistics figured out and the package/options they offer takes away so much of the challenges that come with planning. The property itself is also beautiful and immaculately maintained. It is clear that DeAnne and her team really care about the couples, the venue and making sure that everything goes off without a hitch. Our day of coordinator, Haili was also amazing - she kept everything running so smoothly even with some surprise rain showers. She had such a great attitude and had the perfect balance of fun and focused. Everything went off without a hitch and I never felt stressed or worried that it wouldn't be the way we had envisioned. The food was great, the set up was beautiful, the staff was friendly and we had the best wedding! I highly recommend this place and would love to go back for someone else's wedding! We really couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you to DeAnne and all of her staff for such an amazing day!!
This venue is Beautiful! Everyone who came was in awe of its beauty! This was the only wedding venue we look at due to the uniqueness of it. DeAnne was amazing! She is so friendly and will to answer all questions, no matter how many times you ask. If you are a go getter and can plan/coordinate the majority of your wedding then this is the place for you! Almost everything that you can think of for a wedding is included with this venue and that is so helpful, but you do not meet or are able to talk with your coordinator until the rehursal night. This was a bit stressful and hard to explain my vision to her in the hour that you get to rehearse the entire thing. The day of the wedding was breath taking and they were so helpful with getting everything exactly like I had asked and getting guest where they needed to be. We did seem to be pushed out of the bridal sweet at the end with all of our items being set outside the suite and not allowed to go back in. Drinks were served for dinner down by the pool and our older guest had to keep going down the hill to get refills. They also started cleaning up the reception site while we still had guest there and were dancing. Like I said this is an amazing venue with so much uniqueness and beauty and it was a perfect fit for our vision!
I fell in the with this venue the second I saw photos of it and I knew I had to have our wedding there. Going in person exceeded our expectations and we booked! Deanna and her team are amazing. Her husband was so sweet and helpful too. And Pearl (their dog) is th sweetest! We got so many compliments on the food and the beauty of the venue. Having the food and cake tied in was a stress saver too! I would highly recommend The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farms!
We chose The Ruins at Kellum Valley because of the beautiful stone ruins and mountain views. The staff couldn't have been more understanding, supportive & patient. Our guests gave us nothing but the best feedback on how amazing the food was, how attentive the staff was, how smoothly everything went and how it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Thank you for making our day the best memories ever.
From the moment I saw pictures of the Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm online looking at venues, I fell in love, and the love only continued throughout the entire planning process with DeAnne and on the wedding day with my awesome coordinator Amber and all the staff. Once you visit Kellum Valley, no other wedding venue will compare. The catering, cake, chairs, tables, etc, and many decorations are all included, which was a breath of fresh air as it took a few things off my wedding planning to-do list, and DeAnne was so so so helpful every step of the way, always responding so quickly to all my questions with helpful responses and referrals to other venues in the area that were all phenomenal (especially Flower Buds!). I wanted a wedding day where my guests, family, bridal party, and me and my (now) husband could all take the time to enjoy the special magic of the day instead of running around stressed about the little details, and boy did the whole staff at Kellum Valley deliver. The Ruins are truly a special place, and we had the most magical, romantic, relaxing, and special wedding day! While there are a whole selection of ceremony sites, we chose to have the wedding in front of the ruins, and they made the most romantic and unique backdrop to our ceremony. Our reception for dinner and our epic dance party was in the ruins and our guests could not stop talking about the beauty of the venue. I loved the string lights and candles set up throughout the ruins during dinner and dancing. We also selected the option to have our rehearsal dinner under the tent at Kellum Valley the night before the wedding - it is a great space with long farm tables and we catered from 'Cue BBQ in Cumming. Everything about the whole weekend went off without a hitch. Thank you so much to DeAnne and the whole team at Kellum Valley - they do an amazing job!
My husband and I were married at The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm in mid September and booked the venue a year prior. Throughout the year, DeAnne was a pleasure to work with and quickly replied to all of my frantic emails. There are really no words to explain how amazing she and her staff are at KVF. Planning was such a breeze and using their catering, cake, and staff made coordinating so simple. The food was the best, the cake was beautiful, her staff was knowledgeable and very easy to work with, and we were able to BYOB. Our wedding day was amazing and our friends and family are still calling to talk about the natural beauty of the venue and How much the loved the rustic, but elegant vibe of the wedding! My mother and mother-in-law quickly made friends with DeAnne and her husband and our wedding party spent the day playing with their sweet dog, Pearl and we are loving spotting her in the background of our wedding photos. Our wedding day was 100% perfect and I would recommend this venue to everyone!
We found our perfect venue for our perfect day in Kellum Valley Farm! DeAnne and her team were amazing to work with. From start to finish, we had a great planning experience that was made easy and fun.
Our wedding was in May and the views were spectacular. The Ruins are beautiful, unique, and add a picture perfect historical charm. We also couldn't have picked better and more delicious vendors for dinner & cake if we would have done it ourselves. Our guests are still raving about our cake!
Speaking of our guests, they did have to travel from other states to attend your big day. I will be honest that I was worried about how our guests would feel about that but after the wedding, everyone was in awe of the location and understood completely why we chose Kellum Valley Farm as a destination.
On April 28, 2018, Lauryn and Andrew were married at Kellum Farms. I have to tell you, everyone is still talking about what a special day and place it was. Thanks so much to you and your staff for creating such a unique and awesome day. Kellum Farms is beyond beautiful. Everyone who looks at the photos wants to know where it is. They cannot stop talking about it. Their wedding planner for the event was amazing. She nailed everything and seemed to be everywhere at once. Your son, the gentleman bartender, stole my heart. He was so cool, calm and collected even when trying to keep up with so many folks wanting things from him. He is a treasure. You made my night with the special Deep Eddy rum glass. I am so sorry it was broken, but I enjoyed it tremendously while I had it 😊
Thank you again for creating such a special place where special memories are created for a lifetime. Lauryn and Drew wanted a special day and they succeeded with your help. It is branded in my heart forever.
Kellum is a beautiful wedding venue! DeAnne is amazing! She answers all your questions through out the whole experience. My beautiful was so amazing and went smooth and perfect! It was everything my husband and I dreamed of! All my guests were in love with the venue! I’m so grateful to Kellum and their staff for making my big day so special! Thanks DeAnne :)
I absolutely LOVED this venue so much! DeAnne was wonderful and so professional. She has so many props/decorations that you can choose from in case you have any last minute needs. The venue itself hardly needs decorations because of the aesthetic it already has with the greenery/the ruins. Haili was my wedding day planner and she was incredible! She made sure I didn't have to worry about anything that day. I highly recommend this venue to any future bride who's looking for an outdoor option. I cannot even say enough good things about this venue and the entire staff. My husband and I were so pleased with how smoothly everything went that day (especially considering it rained all day until right before the ceremony started)!
I never even looked at another venue. It was dreamy, secluded, and quiet. It was incredible that you did not have to search for the 42397 details that you did not have time for because it was all included here! DeAnne was very kind and helpful and very prompt to respond to questions and needs. I think the coolest part was that they allowed us to use everything in the prop room and that was a major help in cost! I had a very large wedding 300+, and they were awesome to help us accommodate all of our guests . The food was incredible, cake was beautiful and it was a dream! I have all positives except for just a few minor things. We used the farm tables and they informed us there would be a $25 fee to move each table which is a bit silly considering anyone could do that, and informed us staff only could move the tables. I understand liability etc. but $25 to move a table is a bit much. We also at the very last second were informed we would have to have all of this burlap or table cloths on the long tables because of the candle wax. We had planned to use candles the entire time and they never said a word about it until the last minute, and that was more costs to us that we did not plan on. We also were informed that we could not be on the site until 8 or 9 I believe which is really hard for the girls because we started pictures at 11 so that would be a bit of an inconvenience for a large wedding party, or a very early wedding. Other than these minor issues that are very simple to change or workout this place is phenomenal and I HIGHLY recommend it.
Our wedding experience couldn't have been any better thanks to DeAnne and her team at The Ruins! From the planning process all the way down to the big day, we had more help than we could've imagined. They used their experience to give us the best possible experience we could have. DeAnne was always very available if we had any questions and was very easy to communicate with. Not to mention, the venue is breathtaking! The team at Kellum Valley Farm did an amazing job decorating and enhancing the already beautiful scenery. There was not a minute on our wedding day that we had any worry or doubt that anything would be less than perfect. DeAnne and her team genuinely care about each couple and ensuring the experience they have is one they will never forget. We were so blessed to have used The Ruins and have the help from the gracious people who work there!
My husband and I got married here in August and it was everything we ever imagined and more. From booking the venue, my 500 questions, the day of our wedding, and even after the wedding DeAnne was an absolute joy to work with! The venue is absolutely stunning during anytime of the year, has so many different picture opportunities and has everything that you would need. DeAnne recommended a list of multiple vendors and I was so happy with each of them! If you’re looking for a place to start your forever with breathtaking views and pictures, the ruins at kellum valley farm is the place to be!! We will forever cherish our wedding day because of this venue and the people that are with it.
DeAnne and her team is amazing! From day one, I got such positive vibes from The Ruins and from DeAnne. My parents and my now husband visited the Ruins when it was pouring, but that didn't stop us from touring the property. When I stepped inside the Ruins I knew this is the place where I wanted to get married! The place is magical, even when it's raining.
After we gave DeAnne the deposit, I was working directly with her and telling her my vision. I emailed DeAnne so many times throughout the months, about details and questions. I asked her so many question but DeAnne replied to me right away. I was welcome anytime to visit the property! Another reason why I love the Ruins is their prop room, you can use anything in that room, for your wedding! There are cake stands, many vases, bird cages, picture frame holders, chalkboard signs, and many more.
I would also like to mention that the view at the Ruins are amazing! You have so many different backgrounds for photos, you have the mountains, the southern home, woods, large pasture with horses, barns, and of course the Ruins!
The food is remarkable, you get to have a taste test before you pick your menu. If you really want something else that isn't on the menu, the chef can make it for your special day. Also the Ruins can be BYOB, which was perfect for us because my dad makes home brew!
We fell in love with this place the first time we visited and it did not disappoint! The venue is just absolutely gorgeous all on it's own, we kept decor simple and it was easy and perfect. The staff here is incredibly kind and helpful from the the very beginning planning stages, throughout your big day. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the people who work here, including the vendors the venue frequently works with. Our big day went so smooth and turned out exactly how we imagined thanks to all their help! PS bad storms from the recent hurricanes had come through the week of our wedding and caused power outages and lots of debris on the grounds but you would NEVER know because DeAnne, Joel and their team made sure to have everything looking it's best for our wedding! Can't thank them enough, book this place!! It's perfect <3
My husband and I got married here on June 17,
2017 and we absolutely loved this venue. DeAnne and her team took such good care of us that we didn't have to worry about anything the day of. DeAnne was very responsive to all our questions and made the process very easy for us. The venue is absolutely beautiful, not much decorations are needed, and our guests just loved the beautiful farm, ruins, and views. I highly recommend The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm for any bride and groom who wants a venue that is professional, will support you, beautiful location, and amazing food. Still to this day our guests are raving about the food.
My wedding was better than I could have ever imagined thanks to the Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm. They made everything so easy and stress free. Everyone had an amazing time and I still get asked about my venue! I couldn't recommend them enough for your wedding. It was perfect and all thanks to them
As a little girl, I had dreamed of my wedding day. This venue was better than anything I could have dreamed of. I LOVE the venue so much. Once my husband and I tour the property, there was nothing that could compare. The Ruins are beautiful, and offer something different than the traditional southern barn wedding. The venue offers multiple ceremony sites, plenty of parking, props, linens, catering, cake, a day of coordinator, bar tenders, tons of amazing photo opportunities, and a tent as a plan B for rain. Getting married is stressful enough, and the all inclusiveness of The Ruins made planning a breeze. I cannot explain how amazing the food is. Almost everyone from my wedding has complimented the food. It is by far the best food I have ever had at a wedding. The owner, DeAnne, is quick to get back to you when you have questions. The venue is just incredible, and I am so happy I picked it for my wedding.
Kellum was absolutely amazing! Deanne and her staff were fantastic. Everything went off without a hitch. I fully recommend the beautiful ruins!
Getting married at Kellum Vally was a great experience! As a busy bride to be, they made everything so easy. The venue is beautiful. Especially in the Spring!
AMAZING VENUE, the scenery, the staff, the food. Everyone commented so many times on how beautiful and unique this place is. Plenty of parking and lots of cabins around the area to house everyone. It was perfect for our laid back day, we even opted for essentially no decorations or flowers and no one noticed because the nature around it all is so stunning. Having the venue, food, tables, chairs, cake, linens and decorations all coming from one POC and one source of billing made planning a million times easier. (The chef does GF, and REALLY well!)
AND we were able to have our pups right by our side the whole day!
Book this place, you will not find a better value or more beautiful location.
The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm could not have been any more of a perfect venue. Everyone is so fantastic to work with, especially DeAnne and Joel (the owners). They are the nicest couple and so easy to communicate with, even when I was rapid firing off questions to DeAnne, which she always answered promptly and in detail. Everyone at the venue is so on top of things and handled everything perfectly and efficiently. The list of vendors they provide was such a huge help and every one of those that we used was great as well. We received so many compliments from guests on everything from how beautiful the venue was to how fantastic the food was to how great our photos turned out with the mountains in the background. You will fall in love with the venue and people as soon as you step foot on the property.
This venue is the best of the best! My goal in planning my wedding was for it to be stress free for everyone, including my mother. That is exactly what it was. Every detail was covered and handled. My day went off without a hitch! DeAnne is the sweetest person and has such an easy personality. With this venue you get the most amazing views and scenery in North Georgia, the most unique reception area, the BEST food ever and a stressless wedding!! I wish everyone could have the experience I had!! Highly recommend! Did I mention the pictures?? We have the most beautiful pictures from our wedding because of the scenery. If you go visit, you'll fall in love immediately.
My husband and I got married here this October. We would highly recommend DeAnne and The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm. They did such an amazing job - DeAnne was always there to answer my 5o million questions and concerns, and they really helped make the ceremony and reception special and uniquely ours. The ceremony and reception space are absolutely stunning - if you're looking for a unique wedding this is it! The only downside for us was a cold-front came through on our weekend and it was colder than we were hoping - so it is a gamble being all-outside (they do have a back-up tent and did have two heaters). The person who does the cakes is okay, we ordered extra desserts and they didn't come out that great, but the cake itself turned out beautiful on the outside and just as we asked her to make it! We were so happy with how everything turned out for us, it really is a stunning wedding venue with such wonderful people there to help you all the way through the crazy wedding process! We would definitely recommend!
If you want a venue that not only is magically beautiful, but is also filled with wonderful people to work with, look no more! The Ruins holds such a special place in my heart. The staff orchestrated the wedding of our dreams, and I never could have imagined how smoothly the entire day went. DeAnne is an angel, Cynthia makes the most delicious cakes, and Matilda organized everything perfectly. We love everyone at The Ruins and would recommend this venue to everyone we know! Truly do not have enough words to describe how blessed we are to have had our wedding here.
Where to start! This place is perfect for a wedding. My husband and I live in California, but we were able to arrange the wedding seamlessly with the help of Deanne and her team.
I had always dreamed about getting married out in nature, but did not go into planning knowing a whole lot about wedding venues. Although my husband is from Atlanta, we got engaged up near the North Georgia Mountains, so I was determined to get married there. After taking a trip around the are, we visited numerous venues in the area (with some being too cramped, not properly suited for a wedding, or just too pricey!). As soon as we took a tour, I knew this was "the one"..A word in favor of getting married in North Georgia-- it is not as overdone as having a wedding in Savannah nor is it full of tourists. We had a lot of family from out of town, and we ended up renting a cabin lodge. The beauty of Asheville, only an hour away from Atlanta.
By choosing the ruins, I liked that we had essentially 3 or 4 venues in one-- there were the mountains, the field/barn, the house, and the magnificent ruins. This made for great photo opportunities!
Deanne and her team were exceptional throughout the whole process. She answered every email, every question, and helpfully shared her 'rolodex' of vendors she has successfully worked with when asked. On the day of the wedding, the wedding coordinator was great and made my job very stress free.
The caterer was fabulous-- he is a great chef and uses organic and local ingredients. We had so many compliments afterwards, with many guests saying that it was the best wedding food they had.
Most importantly, we heard rave reviews from our guests, who thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the venue and the wedding/ceremony/reception itself (which was in part due to the great organization!).
It's just a great place to get married, I could not recommend it more.
My husband and I got married this past October and let me tell you, the Kellum Valley Ruins are breath taking. It is perfect for a fall wedding! The leaf color stands out vibrantly among the mountains. The entire experience with DeAnne and her coordinator was phenomenal. From the first visit to the catering tasting to the final set up. She went above and beyond to make sure my day was special. She even had a multitude of props in her prop room at our disposal. For the most part everything is included (minus flowers, photographer and dj). But Cynthia did more than I could have asked for on my cake. I loved it! Not only was the cake good but the caterer speaks for himself. Everything we tried at the tasting was on point and so was our food on the wedding day. I couldn't have asked for more. You can't go wrong. Thank you DeAnne!
I couldn't imagine our wedding being anywhere else. The Ruins at KVF is a magical setting. Words cannot describe the fairytale this place becomes once the sun sets. The entire process was pretty easy because of the owner DeAnne. She is incredibly sweet, professional, and helpful. She was so welcoming at every visit, so thorough in every email reply, and just a great person overall. I wish we could have had a little better guidance & communication from our day of coordinator during the rehearsal and wedding day. Perhaps if we could have been in contact with her a few weeks leading up to the wedding to iron out details. We had some different circumstances - I don't see this being necessary for most families, but we could have used the extra guidance. I also wish there was better phone reception. It was impossible to make or receive calls at the venue - which can be seen as a blessing and a curse. Other than those few minor problems, everything was a dream. I'll never forget our wedding day and the kind people at KVF. I would recommend getting married here to anyone looking for a whimsical outdoor wedding and reception. Thank you for everything!
My daughter was married on 10/22/16 at The Ruins at Kellum Valley. The entire experience from initial visits, tasting, rehearsal, day of and clean up was outstanding and extremely professional; I highly recommend this as a wedding venue because of DeAnne and the gorgeous setting at The Ruins at Kellum Valley. This is the thank you I sent De Anne:
Thank you again for hosting my daughter’s wedding at your amazing property, the ruins are stunning, as is your property; it is truly a spectacular setting. What made the day and the entire 15 month process work though, was your patience, experience and kindness. You and Joel made this stressful, unknown, complex and at times almost overwhelming process manageable. It worked out, just like you said it would. You patiently answered every small question we had, you forgave the tasting time screw up and more over, you were always gracious.
Your staff was professional and worked very hard. Every staff person was kind, helpful and quick to assist our needs. Cali expertly ran the long day, each time we spoke she was knowledgable and calm, she really wanted to make the day as stressless as possible and wanted the logistics to run as smoothly as I did. Trey ran a great bar as did the young woman ( unfortunately I have forgotten her name), they kept the drinks flowing, carded questionable patrons and always had a soda ready for me. Trey was also very helpful Sunday morning when we cleaned up our many props and decorations.
James’ food was delicious, to a person they have remarked on his delicious lasagna, I know some are scouring the internet for a recipe! Cynthia’s cake was a delight, I gave away sections of the leftover cake to family members today- they were thrilled and enjoyed it more today as they were too full Saturday night!
Both the P.... and J..... families thought the wedding at the Ruins at Kellum Valley was a unique experience. Every guest really commented on the natural beauty, history and how smooth the experience was.
My comments are undoubtably not the first time you have read such praise, I wanted to thank you though and let you know that I am truly grateful and appreciative for all your efforts on our behalf.
Sincerely,
Dee J.
Mother of the Bride
My husband and I have been married for almost 6 months now and it still is hard for me to put in words how much i absolutely love this place. I will i could relive my wedding again. Everyone always says something always goes wrong at wedding but i can honestly say it was 100% perfect. DeAnne literally took care of everything. The bridal room was very comfortable and easily accommodated my bridesmaid and family. The ruins was literally straight out of my dreams. If i custom a perfect location to be able to get married this would be it to the T. We had our ceremony in the front of the house facing the mountain view and it was breathtaking. My guest kept telling me it was the most gorgeous wedding they have ever been to. So if you are looking to have a mountain view, southern wedding with people who you can trust to make your wedding a perfection DeAnne and her team at kellum Valley are what you are looking for.
What a wonderful experience! My husband and I knew the first time we visited Kellum Valley that it was the perfect place for us to get married! DeAnne was easy to get in touch with whenever I had any questions during the planning process and we came to visit closer to the wedding day and Joel showed us around the grounds to give us a better handle on our ceremony location. (They have so many ceremony location options!!) They made my wedding day completely worry free! The day of, they did everything! I picked the props I wanted and they made it happen without me saying anything and it was BEAUTIFUL and rustic which was just what we wanted! I used all their recommended vendors and everyone was phenomenal! The catering they provide is so, so good! I have so many compliments from guests about the food! I can't say enough great things about my experience prior to and the day of. The setting and people at Kellum Valley Farm were excellent. I can't recommend them enough!!
The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm is absolutely the most beautiful and special place in the area, and it's beauty is only enhanced by the staff that works there!! My husband and I were able to achieve the wedding of our wildest dreams with the help of the wonderful staff - the best part was we barely had to purchase decorations because the venue is naturally incredible! DeAnne answered every question (sometimes without being asked) incredibly fast, the caterers went above and beyond, Cynthia makes the tastiest desserts, and Matilda captivated my family/guests and helped the day go by without a single kink!!! They all made us feel so very special and celebrated from the moment we chose the venue until the moment we left as one. I will recommend this place and these people a thousand times with complete confidence!
I got married in May 2016. It is a beautiful breath taking location with an amazing mountain venue! It is unique and that is what my husband and I were looking for. DeAnne, Joel, and staff members were very nice and accommodating! All of our guest talked about how beautiful and magical the venue was! Highly recommend it!!!!
Kellum Valley was the perfect choice for our wedding! We were looking for beautiful scenery in a somewhat unique setting, and Kellum had just that! We looked at 10-15 venues, and knew immediately when we visited Kellum that it was exactly what we were looking for. The grounds and view are breathtaking, the ruins are unique and DeAnne and Joel were so helpful and very easy to work with. They were very laid back and easygoing, but made sure we got everything we needed. It wasn't stressful, and DeAnne answered any and all of our questions in a very timely manner. The day of the wedding we left the guestbook, our favors and a few other various decorations and the team at Kellum set everything up with very little (if any) direction. All in all, it's the perfect venue if you're looking for a gorgeous, peaceful and unique setting in the mountains. We had guests keep telling us after they had never been to such a unique and charming venue.
Words can't describe how truly grateful we are for DeAnne and the rest of her staff! I probably turned into their worst nightmare for them on my wedding day since there was a threat of rain, but I still wanted my vision of everything set up in the ruins. So, naturally, we got our first dances in and then it started pouring down rain. Every single person working there then moved tables and chairs down from the Ruins into the tent and made sure our night was not ruined by the rain! I don't know how to ever fully show how thankful we are for each person who helped us out on our day. As much as I wish we had perfect weather, it still will be one to remember and we would re-do it at Kellum all over again...even in the rain! Thank you all so much!!
When my husband re-proposed to me and told me he wanted us to have a real wedding (I had open heart when we got hitched), I knew two things - my photographer and venue. As a wedding photographer myself, I really wanted to work with someone who I knew would hear me and be a delight to be around. Everything was perfect from the meetings, DeAnne's patience with all my questions, the FOOOOD omg, the decor and the sweet Georgia mountains we rested under. DeAnne and her staff are incredible and you feel like family the minute you meet them. I adore everything about my experience with Kellum Valley and recommend it to anyone getting married. So thankful for these beautiful people and their help in creating my perfect wedding.
I just got married this October and Kellum Valley Farm made it a truly amazing experience. My husband and I both lived out of state during our engagement which can make planning quite difficult but DeAnne and her staff went above and beyond to help pull everything together and and were extremely flexible with our schedules. I couldn't have asked for a better venue and can't thank them enough for making our wedding so wonderful. (plus it is absolutely gorgeous!)
Kellum Valley is the perfect rustic, mountain retreat to host any type of wedding year-round. DeAnne and Joel are pleasant to work with. Matilda is the backbone serving as the day-of coordinator. Her lively spirit and passion for weddings truly shows as well as her expertise. Without Matilda running the show, I couldn't have imagined things going any smoother. I am grateful for Matilda and her team making our wedding day extra special. Keep in mind this venue is semi-all-inclusive and their ability to bend to customizing your event isn't as flexible as I had hoped BUT overall, our day was perfect thanks to the DeAnne, Joel, Matilda, and their staff at Kellum Valley.
Kellum Valley is the best place to get married! DeAnne and her staff are amazing and everything went flawlessly! They even let me be a psycho bride and wait until the last min to see if the rain would stop to have my wedding outside!! Everything about this place is beautiful! We had the best experience and would do it all over again here if we had too!!
I can't express how amazing Kellum Valley was. The entire property is gorgeous and would be a great backdrop for any ceremony and reception. DeAnne, Joel, Matilda and the entire staff went above and beyond answering any questions we had leading up to the wedding and the weekend of they blew us away. The weather was not the best and everyone was so flexible and made the best out of a not ideal situation. Highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a beautiful outdoor space.
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Kellum Valley Farm on September 5, 2015 and I could not have asked for it to go better!
I found this venue on The Knot and planned my wedding there from out-of-state, which can be quite cumbersome, but this burden was significantly reduced by the responsiveness of the owner of the venue, DeAnne. She was wonderful beyond words, responding to all of my questions and concerns, always treating me and my family members with a warm and welcoming disposition. I shared with her my ideas and she made every one of them happen! Not to mention that when I did happen to be in town for one thing or another, she made herself available to meet with me. The prop room had a variety of beautiful pieces that helped make my wedding appear exactly as I had imagined it would. Set against the incredible backdrop of the farm, which is nestled in picturesque mountains, my pictures turned out beautifully. The day-of, it all went so smoothly, and I had nothing to worry about but getting myself ready and walking down the aisle.
Of particular concern to me was finding other vendors in the area, but DeAnne took care of that as well:
- The caterer she works, James, with was phenomenal - my guests all raved about the food (which is rare at a wedding), and the caterer even made some dishes not normally on his menu at our request with no additional hassle or charge.
- The baker DeAnne works with, Cynthia, was equally amazing. I've never had such moist, delicious cakes and cupcakes, and they looked stunning. Each cupcake flavor had a different color frosting and Cynthia arranged them so beautifully that the dessert table could have been featured in a magazine.
- DeAnne also referred me to her usual florists, Flower Buds, who were creative and also produced magazine-quality arrangements on a jaw-dropping flower budget.
In the end, all of this was accomplished with my $25K budget for a 100-person wedding, which included all of my travel and accommodations both for the wedding and scouting trips. I cannot thank DeAnne and her staff enough for helping to create my dream wedding. If you are looking to have a vintage-inspired, rustic outdoor wedding like mine in North Georgia, look no further - this is the place!
I don't think I could ever imagine a better venue than Kellum Valley. It is not simply a beautiful setting, nestled in the North Georgia mountains, but also accompanied by the most amazing staff that is determined to make your big day be the absolute best it possibly can. I don't think I could ever thank DeAnne and her staff enough for making my husband and I's big day go off without a hitch. They took care of every detail-- the food was magnificent, the cake was superb, and I was never worried on what to do next because they had it covered. This venue is more than just a beautiful setting to me. It's an entire experience within itself, all thanks to the wonderful people who own and work at this venue. I could not have imagined a better place to hold the most special day of my life!
My husband and I knew the day we met with DeAnne that Kellum Valley was the venue we wanted for our special day! Kellum Valley is so beautiful and DeAnne is awesome. She made me feel so good about everything and I knew she would make sure everything would be perfect!
Everything ended up being so perfect and I could not have asked for anything better. I have had so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was. I am so happy that we chose Kellum Valley! I was very impressed with everything DeAnne and her staff did to make everything beautiful and so perfect. I did not have to worry about anything!
I am so glad we chose this venue! I probably emailed DeAnne 4583503458 times and she responded to each one in a timely manner. Matilda helped our day run so smoothly and stress free. I cannot say enough great things about this venue. They made our wedding day the best day ever. It was exactly what we wanted and we had so many guests comment about how beautiful everything was. Their vendor were great! Especially the catering, delicious!
We got married in October 2014 at The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm and I cannot brag on this venue enough. First, it is an extremely unique venue with natural beauty that requires no decoration to exude its magnificence. We still have guests to this day complimenting us on how beautiful and unique it was. Not that it needed any decor, but the variety of props that they offered for our use helped tremendously. You literally had a hand in how you wanted everything to look and I loved this. It was an added bonus! Second, with owners like Deanne and Joel, it made the process of wedding planning much less stressful. They were so organized throughout the entire process and extremely accommodating with anything we needed. They were so pleasant to work with and always made time to see us and visit with us when we requested to do so. Deanne always took the time to answer all of my questions, and I sent many emails! My husband loved hanging out with Joel while us girls worked through the details. Third, the vendors and staff that we used through Kellum Valley were not only very professional but provided quality products and services. The food was delicious delicious delicious...and the display did not disappoint! The cake was everything I thought it would be (and more) and tasted amazing. Matilda was our Wedding Coordinator and she was AMAZING. She made sure things ran so smoothly, I never noticed if an issue came up…and she wanted it that way. I will also add that we had our Rehearsal Dinner at this venue as well and the food was just as delicious, the service was just as wonderful, and because it was located at a different location within the venue under the tent, it didn’t give away the beautiful surprise of the ruins for the Big Day. It is a day I wish I could replay over and over. I owe every bit of it to Kellum Valley, Deanne, Joel and Matilda for the wedding of my dreams!
I can't say enough great things about this beautiful venue and the wonderful people who own it (DeAnne and Joel), as well as those who work for them. My husband and I had the most beautiful wedding day...it was a dream come true! DeAnne and Joel make sure all the "t's" are crossed and all "i's" are dotted. We had no stress whatsoever that day because we knew they would take care of it all with no worries. I do remember walking down the aisle and getting emotional because of how beautiful our set-up was for the ceremony, the mountains in the background, and knowing I was about to marry the absolute love of my life. We would not change anything about our wedding day. It was the most perfect day. Thank you DeAnne and Joel for everything!!!

In one word, Magical! Kellum Valley was stunning! I was married there in Oct 2014 and it was my dream venue. The reception in the old Carnegie School Hall and the wedding in front of the cotton wood tree were such charming and unique spaces.(not to mention the other 9 spots to pick from) Even if our plan A site did not work out due to weather they had plan B (a gorgeous tent with massive chandelier and walk in rustic barn) at no additional fees. My wedding was a cool fall night and the venue was perfectly romantic, lit- up with candles and a fire (provided by the venue). The food was superb! I recommend the pork loin w/ GA peach glaze and the salmon en croute! The cake (which is included in the total cost) was delicious and you can have your pick of any style! I can not give enough praise to DeAnne and Meridith and her team. They made my wedding day perfect, stress free, and full of joy. They made the rehearsal dinner easy and entertaining. They were flexible with my schedule and really welcomed my wedding party. The venue itself boast tons of unique and beautiful decorations, and provided all the tables, chairs, linens, and labor (at no extra cost)! They provided places for the bridesmaid and groomsmen to get ready and relax beforehand (check out the cute barn...made for great pictures of the guys getting ready). DeAnne was dependable and replied back to all of my inquiries in a timely manner. They go above and beyond what you could every want or need. My mother and father fell in love and were so impressed with this venue and the professionalism of its staff. The pictures do not do it justice. If you are looking for a romantic, unique, and memorable venue Kellum Valley is it!
It took us a while to find our perfect venue. After weeks of nonstop searching, we found the Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm. From the moment we set foot on the property, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. The grounds are beautiful and the picturesque mountain views are hard to beat if you are looking for an elegant, outdoor venue. DeAnne, Joel, Matilda, and the entire staff were always helpful and accommodating from day one. Joel even made the effort to walk our dog for us throughout the evening! The hospitality was impeccable and they took care of every detail. As others have mentioned, the prop room is awesome! You can use anything you want in there to have the Pinterest-worthy wedding of your dreams. Our guests could not stop talking about our wedding for weeks afterwards! The food and cake were sooooo delicious and we took the option to take a to-go container home for us and donate the rest of the leftovers to a homeless shelter. When it started raining half way through our evening, the staff quickly moved the entire party under the tent to make sure we could enjoy ourselves. Thank you Deanne for all that you and your staff did for us. We had the experience of a lifetime, and anyone would be lucky to have such a beautiful and memorable wedding.
I am so glad that we chose Kellum Valley Farm as our wedding venue! From the instant we saw the property, we fell in love with it. It is a truly beautiful location with so much to offer-- a lovely farmhouse, a big white barn, a mountain view, a beautiful pool with a cute pool house, and of course the ruins! There are so many rustic details throughout the property in addition to just the beauty of the property itself.
In addition to being a great location, we had nothing but good experiences with the staff. DeAnne and her team were friendly and helpful throughout the planning process and on the day of our wedding. She returned emails quickly, met with us several times, and provided a detailed planning sheet that covered all of the details of our wedding day from start to finish. I am OCD and usually like to do things myself, so I have always been nervous that on the day of my wedding I would be stressed and wouldn't be able to enjoy the day. However, on the day of I was able to focus on enjoying the day, because I knew that I could trust DeAnne and her staff to take care of everything and realize my vision for the day. They did a wonderful job and our wedding day was amazing! All of DeAnne's vendors were great and easy to work with. The food was great, the cake was great, no complaints at all!
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Kellum Valley Farms!! We got so many compliments from our guests on the venue and food. We wouldn't change a thing about our wedding day and highly recommend this venue!
Kellum Valley was the only venue I visited, it was love at first site. My husband and I are beyond pleased with our wedding day. When asked how our wedding was my response is "perfect". We were married May 23, 2015 and the weather could not have been more perfect. Our guests continue to rave about how beautiful the venue is. DeAnne, Joel, Matilda, and the team they bring in to help were amazing. Every last detail is considered, even details you never thought of. Aside from the amazing mountain view and ruins there are so many other spaces to take pictures and have the ceremony to fit your personality. I used the recommended vendor list and am beyond happy with our choice of DJ (Nigel Looney) and photographer (Photo By Gannon). The caterer they use is fabulous, the menu has enough selections for any taste preferences and everything we tasted and chose was amazing. Matilda was our coordinator, she was there to help us through our rehearsal and make sure everything ran smoothly the day of, every bride needs that! The price they give cant be beat and is set without hidden fees or additional costs for small details like linen colors and DeAnne has a full prop room of decorations for use at no additional cost. My vision for my wedding was twinkly lights everywhere and that's exactly what Kellum Valley offers. Our day was better than we imagined it could be and we cant thank everyone enough for there hard work and dedication.
Wow, almost a month since we married here and the amazement is still in our minds! What an absolute beautiful place for a wedding reception and ceremony. We would like to thank Deanne and Matilda for doing a wonderful job in preparation and hosting our wedding May 2, 2015. Everything from the food, cake and decorations all were perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better day. These memories will last forever and we appreciate your help in making our day special. We received so many compliments and comments regarding the venue of how beautiful it was and supported with great staff. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone locally or out of state! Be are blessed to call this place our wedding venue.
Love, Karen and Alan Stubblefield
There is really no way to explain how fabulous DeAnne and the entire Kellum Valley Staff is, until you meet them for yourselves! They are truly the very best at what they do and I cannot say enough good things about them! We are from the Tampa Bay area and decided to do a destination wedding , so I consulted with DeAnne via e-mail regarding all of the information, and solely relied on photos since we were unable to make the trip to Georgia. We booked the venue site-unseen, which sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen, but DeAnne answered every last question with incredible detail and made me feel completely confident in our decision. The venue is stunning and immaculate...the photos just do not do it justice!! You are the only bride that day and do not have to share any attention with anyone else which makes everything more intimate, and completely about YOU! The food is also top notch, we knew that once we had our taste testing our guests would be pleased, but everyone could not stop raving about how delicious their meals were! You will have a unique, one-of-a-kind wedding that will be so refreshing from the same old "catering hall" type wedding. I know KVF will far exceed your expectations, as they did ours!
You will not find a better location or value for your dream wedding! The Ruins has everything covered for you. My wedding planning was so seamless and easy to enjoy. The moment we stepped foot on Kellum Valley Farms, we knew it had the feel we were looking for. The setting puts you at ease, the staff is phenomenal, and the views are absolutely stunning. Anything you need help with, this venue will go above and beyond for you! We could not have had a more perfect experience at Kellum Valley farms. It was priceless to me as the bride to have my wedding experience be stress-free and they made that happen. I was so impressed with this wedding venue and you will be too.
DeAnne and the Kellum Valley crew did an amazing job for our wedding. They are very experienced and it showed. Mathilda was our coordinator, and man, she made it happen! The venue is just gorgeous. People are still going on about what an amazing wedding venue we had, weeks later. The caterer is also excellent. Thank you all for making our wedding so perfect!
Our daughter got married at Kellum Valley Farm this summer. DeAnne, Joel, and all of the staff made our daughter's dream wedding come true. DeAnne answered hundreds of questions for us throughout the process. They were very professional and did everything as promised. The venue is a beautiful mountain setting, We used all the preferred vendors and were pleased with all of them. The food by Honeybrook Catering and the cakes by Cakes by Cynthia were delicious. Everyone loved the food. The wedding was truly magical from beginning to end. All of our guests complimented us again and again that evening about what a beautiful wedding it was. We are still receiving rave reviews a month after the wedding! You can't beat Kellum for a beautiful setting and a fantastic setting. Even our fifteen year old son said when he gets married, that Kellum will be his wedding venue! You can't beat the compliment of a teenage boy! It must have been amazing.
The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm is such a gorgeous venue! We got so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful it was.Unfortunately, my background in event planning left me with a few things to be desired. My number one regret was not hiring my own day of coordinator. Since the package was "inclusive" and included a day of coordinator I thought this would have been sufficient. Instead, I was worrying about things getting setup and my sister/MOH had to leave from getting ready at one point to give directions. Unfortunately, this cascaded and caused additional timing issues to the point where she missed out on things (which I feel absolutely terrible about!). I also received a few negative comments from the bridal party/family on the attitude of DeAnne's day of coordinator. We were the first wedding of the season so they were getting back into the swing of things, and I know everyone has their bad days but attitude sets the mood!
The food was absolutely delicious! I only wish we had been able to taste more than one item per category at our tasting. We decided to switch a dish last minute - but hadn't gotten the chance to taste anything different! The cake was delicious as well. However, I was slightly disappointed with the "decoration" of the cake. We paid a couple hundred extra (decoration & flavor was not included!) for a sub-par border. At the end of the day, the cake was super yummy though!
Another thing to note is the sound limitations. If you're looking for a place to party & jam out - this may not be the place for you! Our DJ was told several times to turn the music down. (To a point where we couldn't even hear the words in the songs on the dance floor! It kind of killed the mood.). I understand they have neighbors they need to be respectful of, but I was slightly disappointed.
The Ruins is a gorgeous venue & DeAnne is super sweet so it's definitely worth checking out -- just make sure you ask LOTS of questions! I signed the contract under the impression the venue was "inclusive" only to find out things here and there that were not included (ex: paper napkins over cloth, no cake decoration/flavors included, extra for bonfire, additional tables for vendors, ect.). All the little stuff does add up. A bride would also definitely benefit from a pre-wedding meeting, just so DeAnne & her staff on all on the same page as the bride and so there are no questions or confusion on the day of!
Kellum was the perfect fit for us. We wanted an outdoor wedding, but we wanted more than just a mountain view. There is so much charm at this venue! The view of the mountains is gorgeous, but the ruins are so unique and memorable. Simply magical at night with all of the twinkling lights and candles! There are many locations on the property to hold your ceremony and we chose under the cottonwood tree on the lawn. So intimate and charming with the white chairs and mason jars hanging from the tree. LOVED this ceremony site!
The staff at Kellum is outstanding! DeAnne was professional, organized and always quick to respond to my many questions. She helped us with everything along the way, including recommending several great vendors. The day of the wedding the staff continued to impress. They were very organized and kept everything/everyone “on task” to keep things running smoothly. Even with the rain, everything seemed to happen seamlessly. I was able to just “be a bride” and not worry about the details. I felt comfortable and confident that they had everything under control.
I can’t say enough good things about The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm! Beautiful property + extraordinary service = perfect wedding day!! :)
I can't begin to tell you how fantastic DeAnne and her team are! The venue is amazingly gorgeous, the food was superb and staff was great! I can't recommend Kellum Valley enough! My guest still call me to tell me it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever attended.
Absolutely the BEST wedding venue in the Northeast Georgia Mountains! They made all of my wedding dreams come true. Our wedding was perfect in every way. The staff, DeAnne and Matilda, were amazing! The Ruins were picturesque under the dark, stormy skies. I will definitely be referring all brides to DeAnne and the staff at Kellum Valley.
I can not fully express my absolute happiness with Kellum Valley Farm. My husband and I had such a great time and could not have been more pleased with the final result. Our wedding was perfect in every way. The staff, DeAnne and Matilda, were amazing behind the scenes (especially with the craziness and downpour of rain). They even made it possible to have the ceremony outside (although there was heavy rain before and after) with very cool heads under the pressure. I will be letting everyone know what a great choice it was to pick Kellum Valley Farm for the most important day of my life thus far.
Could not recommend this venue more! Wonderful staff, beautiful property, and all reasonably priced.
They are flexible with temperamental brides and help indecisive ones make decisions(I was both at one point or another).
I would recommend this to any bride looking for: rustic, colonial, country, hippie, romantic, or princess style weddings. They also have lots of decor in house for you to use.
The easiest choice for me to make for my wedding was Kellum Valley as my venue.
t's been three blissful months since my husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at Kellum Valley Farm. The place itself is beyond beautiful and the absolute perfect backdrop for your special day. However, a place is just a place and I always believe it's the people that seal the deal! And I can't say enough about the wonderful and thoughtful staff at Kellum. DeAnne answered every single question I asked (and I asked a lot. :) ).
Joel was fabulous and let me take pictures with the cute horses and goats! And last but not least, Matilda the Warden. Best Wedding Coordinator ever! Even our Deacon gave her a shout out during the ceremony.
It doesn't hurt that the catering company they partner with is beyond delish. Best Food EVER. Thank god we nom-ed down at the tasting since we didn't have time to eat on the wedding day. :) Although, Matilda was amaazing and packed us a to-go box so we could enjoy all the wedding food!
I would recommend any bride to make Kellum a part of their wedding day. You absolutely won't forget it. Thank you Kellum!
I feel so lucky that I had my wedding reception at Kellum Valley Farm. My fiance and I searched for weeks for a rustic outdoor venue that would fit our fall wedding. We found EXACTLY what we were looking for at Kellum Valley Farm.
STAFF - From the very first interaction with the Kellum Valley staff, I knew that this venue was different from the rest. DeAnne was so kind and helpful trough the entire wedding planning process. She would answer every question (and I had a million), with great detail and always was there to help. The weeks leading up to my wedding, she made the final details so easy to "check off" my list. The day of the wedding, her whole team was extremely helpful, friendly, and fun! I didn't worry about a single thing the very second that I stepped on the property. I didn't even know there was a slight drizzle during my wedding ceremony because the staff hurried to dry the table linens, chairs, and other decorations before I arrived.
RUINS/VENUE - The ruins are one of the most unique venues I have ever seen. If you are looking for an intimate and romantic setting, you must use Kellum. Each time we went back to the property during the planning process, we found something new that we loved about it. During the wedding, almost every guest came up to me to tell me how great the venue was. The photo opportunities are endless - the ruins, the mountains, the pasture, the horses, the barn - I could go on for days!
DECOR - Aside from the absolutely beautiful property, the inventory closet that you can borrow from (for free!) is amazing. It was so easy to decorate and accent the table settings using the venue's props. There were other venues that charged for items a la cart, but not Kellum! DeAnne and her team have an eye for style and will help decorate as much or as little as you want. They have the best props and decorations - old wash tubs, window frames, and chalk boards. It was a huge time and money saver for us.
FOOD/CAKE/BEVERAGE - We were a little nervous at first that they require you to use their preferred caterer, but after our first tasting, all of our fears were set aside. The food is so delicious and the chef has a real passion for what he does and for serving food at Kellum. We loved it so much, that we used the same catering company for our rehearsal dinner. I received so many compliments about how great the food was from guests during and after the wedding. I also absolutely LOVED my wedding cake. Not only was it gorgeous, it tasted great. I know everyone says this, but really it was the best wedding cake I've tasted to date. Also, It also was a huge help to our budget that we were allowed to bring our own alcohol.
I would recommend this venue to any bride looking for a magical and romantic wedding venue, tucked away in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains. Kellum is absolutely the best.
As soon as my husband "to be" and I stepped out of the car and saw the breathtaking view of the North GA Mountains from the venue, we knew it was going to be hard to resist! After we spoke with DeAnne and took a tour of the beautiful and rustic Ruins, we were sold!! From the delicious food tasting and the prop room FULL of magnificent decor, to the "on top of it" wedding coordinator the day of the wedding, we could not have asked for a better experience!! In fact, we recently visited the venue on our first anniversary and the place still seems simply magical. I would highly recommend The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm!!
I started looking for wedding venues before I was even engaged! I found The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm during my search and instantly knew this was where I wanted to get married. This is such a gorgeous wedding venue I don’t even know where to begin with what to say! The venue its self is beautiful and has SO much to offer. There is a gorgeous farmhouse when you first arrive at Kellum with ruins located behind the home from an old dormitory from the 20’s. There is also a barn, pastures, and amazing views of mountains in the background. I know many people have commented on the decoration room, but it has everything you could want and more in there. From antique tables, vases and signs to candle holders and lanterns there is so much to choose from to help make you wedding décor unique.
There are so many locations to host the ceremony throughout the venue it is hard to decide! I loved the old cottonwood tree in the front yard to get married under and then have the reception inside the ruins and around the pool. Of course it decided to rain on our wedding day and the staff at Kellum made my day much easier. We were able to delay the ceremony about 20 minutes and we still got married under the tree, but held our reception under the tent they always have up and in the barn. They decorated the tents and barn so beautifully I forgot that it was even raining! Their attention to detail is amazing and really took the time to make sure everything looked good.
I can’t speak more highly of DeAnne!!! She was easy to contact and was able to answer all of my questions in a very timely manner! She has some amazing vendors included in her package first being Honeybrook Catering, the food was delicious and I had several guests compliment on the food. The cake is also included and it was delicious!! She was able to recommend some other vendors including our florist who was Flower Buds. The flowers from our wedding still make me smile because they were so tastefully put together and everything and more than I could ask for. The wedding coordinator, Matilda, is fabulous!!! She helped to keep the day moving smoothly even through the rain!!
Everything about The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm was perfect! I could not ask for anything more, it was truly a fairytale. I loved how unique and special my wedding was. If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue then you have to choose Kellum!!!!!!!!
The Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm is truly the most unique wedding venue in North Georgia. The views are absolutely breath taking. We got married on 10/27/12. Our wedding was FLAWLESS. People tend to tell brides horror stories about all that went wrong on their big day and we are proud to say that NOTHING went wrong on our day. We both got to relax and just enjoy every moment because Matilda took care of everything! Everything ran very very smoothly. I can't rave enough about how perfect KVF is. If you are looking for a unique, gorgeous, well run wedding venue then you have found the right one!
If you are looking for a wedding straight out of Pinterest, this is your venue. The scenery is amazing, and the owners provide a room full of vintage decor, from table decorations to wagon gift carts. They allow you to bring your own alcohol - HUGE money saver. And their preferred cake vendor and catering (honeybrook catering) provides amazing food and service. Everything is outdoors and beautiful, they have a rain plan of a gorgeous white tent with an amazing chandelier at no extra cost. We had so many compliments at the wedding and afterwards of the amazing ambiance. We honestly could not have picked a better venue. Deanne and Joel Major (the owners) were very responsive leading up the wedding, and a huge help the day of the wedding. They provide a wedding coordinate too, we had Haley - she was flawless. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone looking in Atlanta/North Georgia. You will not find a better deal for such a gorgeous venue.
