This historic property was once the White Sulphur Springs High School and has been lovingly renovated and converted into an elegant and exclusive hotel. Now featuring 30 rooms, versatile event spaces, and a rooftop bar, the venue is an inclusive and welcoming place for locals and out-of-town guests alike. The Schoolhouse Hotel has a number of locations where you can host your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Indoor ceremonies with up to 80 guests are held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, a tranquil setting that is just steps away from the hotel. For outdoor exchanges of vows, the front lawn is available for 150 to gather and provides iconic views of the school’s façade. The main ballroom, once a gym, can accommodate as many as 300 in its cavernous interior for dining and dancing. Receptions and rehearsal dinners are also held in The Varsity Club, the venue’s on-site restaurant that seats 118 guests. For truly spectacular soirees, you can head to the roof and enjoy craft cocktails and premium wines as you take in the stunning woodland views. My husband and I recently got married at The Schoolhouse Hotel, and our day went better than either of us could have hoped for! We held our indoor ceremony at the methodist church...

next door and our reception within the Schoolhouse. Their church is lovely, and though I was a bit skeptical of the mint green walls and carpet at first, it ended up matching well with our wedding colors, and the carpet could easily be covered up with an aisle runner as needed! The photos of the ballroom do not do it justice, it is a gorgeous reception hall that would go beautifully with any wedding theme. Unfortunately I cannot speak on the hotel rooms themselves since our wedding happened to be during a time that they were already completely booked for a separate event. However, we did receive a large discount on our rental price because of it, and there were plenty of extra hotels in the area for our guests to stay at! Their new event coordinator, Angela, was brought on a month before our wedding due to their previous coordinator retiring. Even with the late notice, Angela and her team were AMAZING! She reached out immediately and was readily available to discuss all the last minute details with us, and worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly. I cannot recommend her and her team, as well as the entire venue, enough!

We recently held our daughter's wedding at the Schoolhouse -- and it was outstanding. From an event perspective, the hotel staff was outstanding -- from the first contact with them...

last year, to the run-up to the event, to the actual execution. Marsha in particular was extremely helpful and competent. That extended to all the staff, who were friendly and proactive in ensuring the wedding was a success. The ability to rent all the rooms in the hotel made it a special event where we had the whole place to ourselves. Throw in good food and drink, a nice ballroom, and ending up at the hotel roof bar for the end of the celebration. Highly recommended.

etween events. The entire staff, from the front desk to the bartenders, were so kind and helpful to the family and all the guests. Marsha, the venue event planner, went above and beyond not just on the day of but in the 12 months before while planning. Every request I made was fulfilled (like very specific specialty cocktails) and it's hard to believe the venue has been up for less than 2 years with the service they were able to provide. The aesthetic of the entire place is so tasteful but fun and the photos turned out amazing. The rooms have a few quirks with the ADA accessibility but they provided a sheet at check in to help navigate and my guests were able to figure it out. Can't wait to come back and visit on an anniversary!
