Everyone is incredibly kind and helpful, extremely supportive and professional on the big day and throughout every moment leading up to it. The owners Brian and Trish are truly incredible, easily two of the most amazingly thoughtful and down to Earth people on the planet. Last but not least, everyone had an amazing time. The guests raved about the space for its stunning views, romantic and quiet atmosphere for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and vast space for people to mingle and dance during the reception! I could go on about the space and the people who make this place so special, but their reputation and number of happy couples speaks volumes! I met my fiancé shortly after moving here and on our first date I told him “I had to get married at this place called the seclusion.” Little did I know it was just a hop skip and jump around the corner from him! Here we are a little over a year later and we have officially booked our wedding at the seclusion for 2023. Brian was nothing but kind, generous and personable during our search. We are extremely excited to be able to share this beautiful place with our friends and family on one of the best days of our lives.

wedding. I got engaged in July 2019 and knew The Seclusion would be the place we'd get married. The owners of The Seclusion, Trish & Daniel, are the nicest people you will ever meet. Not only did they take facetime calls from my husband and I to explore the grounds - since we live in Brooklyn, New York - they answered every question we had and offered great advice for possible vendors to use. Once we booked the venue for our wedding day (November 14, 2020) we scheduled our engagement pictures for November 2019 - this would be our first time visiting the venue in person. We were BLOWN AWAY once we got to the venue - it was absolutely breathtaking - the views, the details of the venue, and meeting Trish & Daniel in person were great. They allowed us to get ready in the bridal suite for engagement pictures and we were able to freely use the grounds. Walking through the venue you saw details that were so personal to Daniel & Trish, which made it very special. Everything was created with such intention and thought that you really felt the hard work and love that went into making this venue. Getting married during a pandemic was definitely not ideal, but Trish & Daniel kept us up to date on all guidelines VA and Rockbridge County put in place as well as the measures they are taking to make their guests feel safe and happy. Even during the pandemic Trish & Daniel continued bettering their venue. After each wedding or event they took feedback and made immediate changes - an example of this being the amazing sound system that was used for outdoor ceremonies and the flagstone walkway (aisle) - which were added bonuses we did not have when signing the contract. Because we had large floral arrangements - The Seclusion allowed us the time needed to set these things up as well as being super inviting and receptive to all vendors we picked. The day of the wedding all we kept hearing was 'how did you find this place?' 'This is the most amazing venue i've ever been to.' Our guests were finally able to experience the Seclusion. The bridal suite was so incredibly beautiful and cozy for a day of getting ready. Because of all of the windows it was perfect lighting for makeup & hair artists we had hired for the day of. The groomsmen quarters were wonderful for the guys - they had a fire pit, cornhole, guitar, & tv to watch all the college football & golf they wanted. What was probably the best part for us, because of the pandemic, was the incredible outdoor space our guests were able to use to remain properly socially distant while still enjoying the ambiance of the wedding. The outdoor fire pits were a huge hit - we even had s'mores that added to the experience. My husband was adamant about having a cigar & bourbon bar - guests were able to stay warm by the fire, sip bourbon, and enjoy a cigar with the beautiful nighttime sounds of a mountaintop. The Seclusion is a magical place that will not only have you in awe but also make it an unforgettable event for your guests.

Trish and Brian (the owners) walked us through where everything would be and how it would look. Everything turned out exactly as they explained. The venue is everything that we had hoped it would be and more. I cannot tell you how many people told us how amazing they thought the venue was and how many people went on describing all of their favorite details. Aside from the beauty of the venue, not enough can be said about the breathtaking view of House Mountain. The views make for an incredible backdrop if you decide to have your ceremony at the venue (highly recommended!). On top of all of that, we cannot say enough about how incredible Trish and Brian are. They are fun, thoughtful, and incredible to work with. They helped make the entire process painless from start to finish. We cannot recommend the Seclusion enough. Truly a perfect place to be married.

The area is just beautiful and the design and presentation of the venue takes it to another level altogether. The drive up the mountain is just the first gorgeous surprise. The owners have built and decorated incredible accommodations for the groomsmen. Not a single detail has been overlooked. Everything the groomsmen would need to prepare for the day is at their fingertips. The furnishings alone; leather sofas, genuine cowhide rugs, are simply gorgeous. As beautiful as the groomsmen's cottage is, it pales in comparison to the bridal loft. Picture an elegant off-white beautifully furnished area where no detail has been spared. There is a spa like shower, built in beauty bar for hair and makeup professionals, elegant furnishings and a breathtaking overlook into the reception venue below. We sipped mimosas and listened to beautiful music on the Bose stereo system. The loft has ample windows with a breathtaking view of the mountains. It is stunning! The guests had the time of their lives! The inside is beautifully decorated with chandeliers, long elegant tables, leather sofas for conversation areas tucked into alcoves and a fireplace that is just stunning. The decor extends outside and has gorgeous furniture across an expansive porch with views of the mountains. There are stone fire pits and outside seating where our guests relaxed, roasted marshmallows, smoked cigars, etc. This is place is one that has to be seen to be appreciated. I can only say that no detail was overlooked in designing the space. I met the owners on multiple occasions and they were both kind and incredibly helpful in working with us to bring everything together. After working with them, it was clear they were very talented and skilled in making this venue a reality. Their laid back manner made us feel so at ease throughout the entire process. My guests were so impressed by the venue that I actually introduced the owners at the reception. This is a 5 star venue! We looked at over 30 venues and none can begin to compare to this one. Absolutely stunning! When looking for a wedding venue or other event, don't miss this one! The Seclusion is as good as it gets!

The venue is so beautiful that we didn't have to spend money on decorations, it's already perfect. I truly wish every couple could get married here. Trish and Brian are also the most humble and caring owners. When we first saw the venue it was under construction. Throughout the construction process they kept us in the loop as to what work was being done and kept our minds at ease that the venue would be perfect by the time our wedding day arrived, and it most certainly was. I also have to add that they are beyond generous. We were on a tight budget and to save money we were going to use disposable plates. The owners ended up buying plates that we were able to use!! This action simply blew us away. You will not regret having your wedding here and it is worth every penny!

Not only does she care about the venue, she also cares about the couples using it! I love that she’s interested in the details of every single wedding. Trish went above and beyond when we asked for recommendations for caterers, hotels, wedding planners, florists, etc. She has made our initial wedding planning seamless and fun. We CANNOT wait for our special day and to follow the success of this new venue in the coming months!

They are building this venue for their daughter to be married at, which is so sweet on its own and we are very happy that they decided to do so!
