We had both our ceremony and reception in the Grand Ballroom and we are so happy with how everything turned out! The hotel is already gorgeous, so decorating was a piece of cake. Many of our guests stayed in the hotel through the weekend, and everyone was so amazed by the beauty of the architecture. It's also a very convenient location for out-of-town guests who might want to explore downtown Louisville.
The wedding coordinator Taylor was beyond helpful to us! She assisted with so many little pieces of the day, from making sure our dessert table display was perfect to helping us decide the best layout for the reception. She answered every question with detail and patience (and there were a lot of questions), and made us feel so prepared and relaxed for the day. I would trust her with anything. There was a small issue on the wedding day and the cocktail hour space was no longer usable, but it was no stress to me because Taylor and her team handled it wonderfully. We ended up moving the cocktail hour to the Rathskellar, which was gorgeous and a real crowd-pleaser. We would highly recommend the Seelbach for a wedding!

We loved having our wedding in the Medallion ballroom at the Seelbach! The staff across the board were incredible. From the valets to the receptionists to the servers! Taylor was our main point of contact and she was amazing. She was extremely responsive and always helped me with any questions I had. The food and drinks were also amazing and everyone truly goes above and beyond for you during your event. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

I can’t recommend the Seelbach highly enough! Heather Roney and her staff made sure we had the night of our dreams, and were so helpful throughout the whole wedding planning process and also on the day of. The venue itself is gorgeous, and we absolutely loved our experience there. We had our ceremony in the Mezzanine ballroom, and then had our reception in the Rathskeller (gorgeous pictures, especially in the Rathskeller!!). A 10/10 experience for sure!

The Seelbach was the most beautiful wedding venue! My wife and I could not have chosen a better place to get married. We chose this place because of the literary history of 'The Great Gatsby' and we're happy we did. The staff, led by Heather Roney, was incredibly kind, fun, professional, and made sure every one of our needs was met. If I could attach a photo of how beautiful the Rathskeller was, I would do it in a heartbeat. Please take my word for it that it was the most incredible place to get married.
Again, thank you, Heather and the rest of the incredible Seelbach staff!

We used the Seelbach to get ready in for our wedding. It was beautiful! We booked the Fitzgerald suite which came with a king bed room, a parlor, and a room with two queens. This was where the girls got ready the day of! We chose this for the amount of space that it had. It was plenty big enough for the bride, 8 bridesmaids, 4 hair and make-up people, and 2 mothers. Not only was the hotel beautiful with very vintage style furniture but the lighting was great as well! My photographer raved about the amount of natural light that came in through the windows and how it made for beautiful pictures. The guys got ready in suite 210-212. It was perfect!

Getting married at the Seelbach was an amazing experience. We had our ceremony and reception in the Rathskeller Room. The room was beautiful with the architecture of the clay pottery on the walls and ceilings. We barely had to do any decorating since the room was so beautiful. Heather from the Seelbach was an absolute joy to work with. She made having a wedding at the Seelbach fun and easy! The bridal party was able to get ready in the Blue Room and the groomsmen in the Davis room before the wedding. It was perfect to be able to get ready on site for the wedding and made things very easy and go smoothly. The Seelbach had very good food choices for the appetizers and our plated dinner. Alcohol packages also had many great choices as well. Before the wedding, we were able to do a food tasting and change a few things to better suit our guests. The food tasting was a great way to try the food before the wedding. During the food tasting, Heather also helped create a timeline for us for our reception. This allowed our reception to feel more organized and go very smoothly. Heather also help set up a room block for our guests to make reservations at the Hotel. The staff at the Seelbach were also a pleasure to work with. They helped flip our room quickly after the ceremony so that guests were able to go back into the room to sit and relax before the start of the reception. They also served our guests appetizers and wine while waiting for the room to be flipped. They did a wonderful job serving the plated dinner and cake to our guests at the reception. Everyone was so kind and made our day feel so special. We were also given a junior suite and bottle of champagne for our wedding. They gave us a lovely room and the champagne was great! We would highly recommend getting married at the Seelbach!

The Seelbach is a gorgeous venue with a wonderful history and breathtaking architecture. My daughter was recently married there and her wedding was absolutely gorgeous!!! I really couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect place for her to be married!
Heather was wonderful at helping us through each step of the process and such a pleasure to work with! She always kept the communication open and she never made me feel like a bother. She always made me feel like I was the only client she had! She was a joy!
We had several guests that stayed at the hotel and they made us feel so special and they were very accommodating of any of our needs.
The staff were very professional and everything was flawless! My daughter's ceremony and reception were in the Grand Ball Room on the 10th floor and we had 120 guests and it was very comfortable. From the ceremony to turning over the room for the reception (which seemed to only take minutes while we were getting family photos taken in front of the fireplace) to the cocktail hour, to the dinner hour etc. Everything ran like a fine oiled machine and I love that!
The day after the ceremony, we had 25 for brunch at Gatsby's restaurant in the lobby. The staff were wonderful there and the food was delicious!! We had a great buffet with omelet station, waffles, french toast, bacon, eggs, croissants, etc.
Thank you Seelbach for making one of the most wonderful memories of my life!! I will be forever grateful!
I highly recommend the Seelbach!

Venue was gorgeous, elegant and historic. Awe-inspiring and full of character. Guests raved about the impeccable service and delicious food. Heather Roney and her staff kept My Bride and I feeling like Kings and Queens, and she guided us in planning the wedding to make sure nothing was forgotten about. Heather and her staff were also more than willing to personalize elements for our needs, and was quick to respond to any correspondance. Friendly staff all around, and we felt like the most important people at The Hotel anytime we were there, both in the planning process and during our wedding weekend.

Heather!! She is the most fantastic wedding coordinator/person you will ever meet!!!! My fiancé and I had our reception here. At first we visited a few hotels around the downtown Louisville area since a lot of our guests were from out of town. Once we walked into the Seelbach we saw the grand staircase and instantly fell in love! Heather was extraordinary and there are not enough words to describe all her help! I would recommend this hotel and Heather to anyone anytime!! Heather....we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! Xo

I don't even know where to begin! We hosted our wedding reception at The Seelbach and hosted all our room blocks there and they also provided all food and beverage. We even hosted a bridesmaid's tea here the day before the wedding! Everything was more perfect than I ever imagined. Working with Heather made me feel so secure and I knew we were in great hands. The staff was amazing. I couldn't imagine hosting our reception anywhere else! Amazing service and staff!

Heather Roney is wonderful to work with. She was always prompt, helpful and anticipated our needs. I cannot say enough great things about her and her staff.
The banquet staff was also top notch. The banquet captain took such great care of us and was so thoughtful and polite.
If I could go back- I would do it all again exactly the same!

The Seelbach was the perfect venue for my wedding. From the moment my guests walked into the lobby, they were impressed with the beautiful hotel, the history, and the accommodations. Heather Roney is so professional and helpful. She made sure everything was perfect. No detail was too small to go over and she met with me several times. The food and drinks were fabulous and my guests raved about it, as well as the wait staff. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue!

We held our wedding reception in the Grand Ballroom at The Seelbach in early November, 2015 and it was absolutely perfect.
The staff at this venue is top notch and we couldn't have been happier. Heather was super easy to work with and ensured our day went off without a hitch. She always answered emails and phone calls in a timely fashion, was always super friendly and helpful, and really made us feel like she was as invested in our wedding as we were! The rest of the staff - from the front desk to the servers and bar tenders - were all incredibly professional and helpful as well.
You will pay a little more at this venue than others in the area, but it is worth it. The food is exquisite and was prepared and presented exactly as it was in our tasting. Along with that the level of service that was received made it worth every penny. Our gifts, wedding crystal, and leftover cake magically appeared in our room before we arrived back at the end of the night so no one in our wedding party was inconvenienced with dealing with those items. Heather made sure our vendors all arrived and were in place throughout the day, assured the tables and floral arrangements were set up properly, and that the room as exactly as we talked about. I didn't even need to set foot in the ballroom beforehand as she updated me throughout the day and let me know all was in order. We were also able to go through Heather for every aspect of the weekend which took so much of the stress and headache out of the planning. She was able to help with special meal requests, special room accommodations with our block, and getting a brunch set up the next morning at the last minute.
I received so many compliments from so many of our guests about how wonderful of a time they had, how beautiful the room was, and how much they enjoyed the food. Ensuring our guests had a great evening was our main concern and the staff at the Seelbach made that happen and provided us with the perfect wedding day!

Heather at the Seelbach did a tremendous job walking us through all the details of wedding planning, coordinated with our other vendors, and helped to truly make my experience at the Seelbach unique. I had my wedding here recently and was very impressed with everything the Seelbach did to make our day perfect. We had plenty of both in-town guests and out-of-town guests, and everyone was thoroughly impressed. The Grand Ballroom was the perfect place for all three parts of the wedding - ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The only frustration was that we had too many guests that needed rooms, and so our block (and block rates) ran out very quickly.

My husband and I had our first date at the Oak Room, a very nice restaurant at the Seelbach so I decided to check it out as a venue. We had both the ceremony and reception in the Grand Ballroom and were overall quite happy with the experience.
Heather Roney is the wedding sales coordinator at the Seelbach. She is friendly and knowledgeable. Every time I contacted her with a question she got back to me within one workday. The rooms are pretty nice and with the wedding group rate were reasonable for a nice hotel in such a good location. Some guests did have issues with booking their rooms and checking in. I'm not sure if they had inexperienced people working the front desk or what, but I would generally not expect these issues as such a nice hotel. Most of our guests did stay at the hotel as it was a bit of a "destination" wedding and there was also a big knifemakers event, so perhaps this was due to high volume that weekend. That being said, the booking problems were resolved quickly by Heather and all guests did end up with rooms (some even got complimentary upgrades) so everyone ended up happy.
The Grand Ballroom is absolutely gorgeous on its own, so I did not have to spend too much on flowers and decorations. The food was fantastic, we picked the beef filet and chicken cordon bleu. There were vegetarian and kids options for those who needed it. The apps were also very good. Lots of compliments from guests on the food as well as the event space. The service staff at the reception was excellent. All very friendly, efficient, and made sure the bride was happy at all times and had a drink when needed.
Guests liked the location as it is in downtown Louisville adjacent to Fourth Street Live. The Oak Room has a fabulous brunch and the hotel bar located just off the lobby has great drinks and is a nice place for people who aren't quite up for the madness and costs of Fourth Street.
I highly recommend the Grand Ballroom if you're looking for a traditionally classy, beautiful event space.

We had our reception in the Rathskellar Room of the Seelbach and it was gorgeous. The room itself is so lovely, it hardly needs any decorations. It is a one of a kind room that transports you to a romantic setting no matter what time of day. It is super expensive, for us at least, so just a heads up on that.

The Seelbach is a landmark venue for my family already having had my sister's wedding in the Medallion Ballroom. It is such a beautiful, historic venue for guests to arrive and stay. The Seelbach did a wonderful job accommodating all requests by my other wedding vendors and worked seamlessly with each of them. The food was fabulous! I got multiple compliments on how tender and perfectly cooked the beef tenderloin was and that's not an easy task when serving 300 people. They did a wonderful job preparing all food and even made a specialty drink I requested for cocktail hour, I simply gave them the recipe and they perfected it. The hotel is a little old and could maybe use some updates on their guest rooms but overall we had a great experience. Everything was extremely organized thanks to the event coordinator they have on staff and any complaints were immediately addressed. The only disappointment came from the staff. The servers seemed a little disgruntled to be there, but I'm not sure how much we can control that in today's world...
I had the wedding of my dreams and would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone wanting a grand wedding!

The Seelbach is absolutely gorgeous! If you are undecided on where to get married look into the Seelbach. I can't say enough about the event coordinator there, Katie Clark, she did an amazing job, she made the wedding planning as stress free as possible for me. She responded to emails in timely manner, was very reliable and was very flexible on making what I wanted fit. I knew things were going to be taken care of when it came close to the wedding, which took a ton of stress and worry off of my shoulders. If price is an issue (we all know weddings can get very expensive quick) or you feel pricing on something there is a little steep, the Seelbach will work with you. Katie did a great job negotiating prices with me and my family. The staff was also very friendly and great to work with. The hotel offers a very timeless and classic setting for your wedding, it is absolutely gorgeous! I felt like a princess, the place is very surreal, especially when everything is set for your wedding. I would recommend everyone take a look and talk to the Seelbach for your future event/wedding.

The Rathskeller room of the Seelbach Hilton is amazing and the staff at the Seelbach could not be more accommodating. Guests at our wedding loved the food and cleaned their plates. The Seelbach allowed us to have the room from the early morning forward to mid-night and their staff was positive!

We toured the Seelbach's Grand Ballroom as a possible reception venue for our 2011 wedding. We loved it. We were given a week timeframe to make a decision and bring a deposit back. After emailing multiple times about menus with no reply, we gave up on Seelbach. This is the time when they're supposed to be wooing us, right? If we couldn't get an email reply within a week A YEAR out from the wedding, how is it going to be in the weeks leading up to it? Customer service wins every time.

We chose the Seelbach Hotel because of the Rathskeller room downstairs. It is a historic hotel with numerous gorgeous venues for a wedding but our first choice was this ceramic room because of the atomosphere. We used candles for centerpieces and didn't need much more decoration because of the permanent tiles. Our guests were impressed by the high quality of food and service. The bar was always fully stocked and the drinks were AMAZING! Our Wedding contact at the hotel was most professional and caring. She met with us throughout the planning stage, prepared a tasting for the entire family and was always available for questions. The guest rooms were newly renovated and our guests LOVED staying at the hotel.
