About this vendor
Hello! We play innocent songs for guilty pleasures. If you can figure out what that means, you're way ahead of us.
We are a 6-piece party band based in Richmond, VA. We've played events from Philadelphia, PA to Jacksonville, FL, and will pretty much go anywhere our van Percy is able to drive us. We love music (duh!), hummus, TJ Maxx, late mornings, diversity, Wawa, and The Pointer Sisters. And while we cannot guarantee you good weather or a punctual caterer, we CAN promise you that we will rock your party and make your event unforgettable (and we'll be on time).

Stop looking and book The Significant Others RIGHT THIS MOMENT. Seriously. From start to finish, they were absolutely phenomenal.
Firstly this team absolutely CRUSHED IT live. Our...
wedding guests would not stop talking about them. We had people coming up to us throughout the night and afterward specifically raving about the band, the energy, the range, and how much fun they were. They had the dance floor packed with all guests of differing ages and they played upbeat banger after banger.
Secondly, they were incredibly personal, responsive, and communicative. They have an enormous set list and were very accommodating with special requests - including allowing and setting up their own keyboard for the bride's brother to use and play on during our ceremony.
Speaking of the ceremony, they also handled all of that audio flawlessly. Everyone could hear clearly, and we had zero technical issues.
What really stood out was that they weren’t just a STELLAR band. They were a great wedding vendor. They were organized, flexible, professional, and genuinely invested in making our wedding great. That combination is incredibly hard to find.
Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be, and this band was a huge part of that. Every single guest seemed to have a blast, and we couldn’t have asked for a better performance or experience.
Absolutely, unequivocally 5 stars. If you’re getting married and want a band that will make your reception unforgettable, hire the Significant Others.
Amazing Band! They kept the dance floor full--all ages-- at our friends' wedding on the Outer Banks Last week. Greta musicians, great vocals across a wide range of music. The be...

Would give them a thousand stars if we could! Booking The Significant Others through Sam Hill Entertainment was the best decision we made for our wedding—they were, without a doubt...
, the number one favorite part of the entire experience for all of our guests!
The band truly delivered incredible vibes and energy. Their musicianship and song selection were phenomenal, creating an unforgettable, electric atmosphere. They kept the dance floor absolutely packed from the first song to the last, and we received countless compliments.
The Significant Others are exceptional professionals who truly delivered a top-notch performance. If you want a truly outstanding, high-energy live band that guarantees an amazing atmosphere for your event, look no further!

I cannot say enough good things about The Significant Others!! We just got married a week ago in September. My guests raved about them all night and have continued to do so in the ...
days following the wedding. My cousin is part of a band and he could not stop praising them. I wished for nothing more than a packed dance floor full of high energy and The Significant Others gave that to us. I knew we scored big when the crowd was chanting for an encore at the end of the night. I could hear them practicing inside when we were taking our first look photos outside and they sounded SO good even from afar, it got me so excited for the reception. My calves were sore for days from dancing so hard all night. They had my 89 year old great aunt out there busting a move and my uncle who never ever dances at weddings was all over the dance floor! It was a magical night that I will cherish forever. I am so happy we went with The Significant Others. I would easily recommend them to anyone looking for a live band, there's no question. One of our guests was already looking to book them for their Christmas party!
The significant others are THE BEST. We got married outdoors in August and it was hot, but the significant others were the ones who brought the real heat!

solutely amazing. They walked the perfect line between being the talk of the party without taking it over. They played every genre with mastery and gave guests of every generation something to dance to. If we had 100 weddings, we’d book them 100 times.
The Significant Others were amazing at our wedding! We had such a fun time, and so many of our guests commented on how great the band was! Highly recommend!!
Cannot express how awesome The Significant Others are! They kept the party going and everyone was commenting on how amazing they were the next few days. They have a large variety o...
f music and I loved that they took the time to learn one new song. They learned on and on and on by Camp for my wedding and it made our first dance as husband and wife even more special. Highly recommend if you want a high energy dance floor!
Everything went perfectly in working with The Significant Others and Sam Hill. The website and forms to fill out before the big day were very straight forward and general communica...
tion with the band was easy. The band was sent up and ready before the ceremony, and the mics and music for the ceremony were exactly the right volume. Once the reception started, the band played exactly the right type of songs for every ebb and flow of the night. So many of our guests came up to us to compliment the band and let us know how talented and fun they were. The volume was a happy medium, allowing those wanting to dance and jam out and those wanting to sit at the tables and talk to do so. The band didn't play the top song on our "must play" list, but their energy and talent for the rest of the night made up for this little error. Overall, I would recommend The Significant Others to anyone and everyone that needs a live band for their event.
Best. Band. Ever.
I can’t even express how fun and good the band was! Our guests are still raving about how much they had all thanks to The Significant Others. The communication le...
ading up was great. I mean how many weddings do you go to where you request “one more song”… the best!
We LOVED The Significant Others!!! The band is responsive, easy to work with, and truly values YOU having the wedding you dreamed of. At the wedding, they were AMAZING!!! By the t...
hird song, I had people coming up to me all night asking “Where did you find this band?!?! They are SO GOOD!” I’m talking everyone LOVED THEM - young, old, just everyone. I was especially impressed with how they were so cognizant of the “flow” of the reception. For the first hour when people were eating and chatting, they played a perfect mix of fun but not too loud or distracting music. But all the guests were still very focused on how good they were. And then they cranked it up for the remainder of the reception and we danced and partied for the rest of the evening. The dance floor was packed for the rest of the night. It was a total blast!! I have to say I have never been to a wedding reception where the guests were applauding and hooting after every song - it was like we were at a concert! And their song selection - perfection. Just SO FUN!! They had great stage presence and honestly, they made the reception! We could not have been more pleased with their performance. We are so glad we picked them!
Some things our guests said about this band: "They were the best wedding band I have ever seen." "This band is incredible, how did you find them?" Over and over we were told the ba...
nd was amazing, and I have to say I agree 1000%. They made the transition from romantic ceremony (with a beautiful acoustic guitar set add-on) to lively dinner to full-on dance party seamless and so, so enjoyable. We chose them because their setlist included some of the classic wedding favorites that we knew our generationally diverse guestlist would enjoy, but also because they perform a significant amount of the songs from our indie darling youth, which made them feel more "us". We were sad to end the night but they played us out with an encore that had everyone jumping around, sweaty, and happy! Absolutely hire this band if you are getting married, they are worth every penny!
In all honesty, my husband and I chose this band because they seemed to be fun and middle-of-the-road in terms of price, but like WOW!!!! They were AWESOME. I couldn’t possibly ha...
ve gone with a better band. They totally had the party going and all the guests were raving about them afterwards. I can’t say enough about how happy I am we hired them. We opted for the extra sax player which was such a fun little twist. They played a great, mellow dinner set, and then knew just when to get the party going. I would highly recommend them!
The Significant Others are a fabulous wedding band! They played songs that everyone knows and loves, and they kept the dancing going until the end of the night. I would highly reco...

ad dancing to them at our wedding! I was a little unsure of what to expect as we had never seen them in person prior to booking them for our wedding, but I was blown away! They had selected the most amazing set list and timed the songs perfectly to get everyone on the dance floor and having a great time. We were able to give a couple of genres that we liked, and trusted them to do the rest...and we were not disappointed! I could not have had more fun if I tried and the reason people are still talking about our wedding is because of this awesome band. I recommend them to everyone that asks and if you are on the fence between band and DJ, i can assure you that this band is worth every penny and will make your wedding unforgettable!
Perfect day and perfect wedding! Couldn't ask for any better!
The band is amazing!! The guys in the band were so easy to work with and made an amazing set list. They played slower music through dinner and then made sure everyone was dancing t...
he whole night. At the end of the night everyone was asking them to play one more song..... which they did! I had a family member request a song and they found me to ask if it was okay. They knew what kind of music we liked and wanted to make sure we were okay with something different playing. The Significant Others are awesome and going to recommend them for events coming up!
We LOVED The Significant Others! This band is amazing and even better live than the clips you can see in their videos. They are very talented musicians with great vocals and a uni...
que playlist with a greater variety of songs than I have seen elsewhere. Our guests were dancing all night and having a great time. We had numerous guests comment on how much they loved our band. My uncle even said he wanted to learn to dance after seeing how much fun everyone was having. They learned a song for us and it was better than the original. Book them--you won't regret it.
Book this band and your wedding reception will never be forgotten- but make sure it's one of the first things you do because these guys are unicorns- exceptionally talented, extre...
mely easy going to work with, highly sought after, and rare to catch (without a booking). Their musical talent, stylistic range, depth of set list, flexibility and ease to work with made them the cornerstone of our reception- our guests could not stop raving about them, and even requested an encore. The band learned a favorite tune of ours for the first dance, and even DJ'd the cake cutting when my Ipod went defunct. Above all else, they are a top notch group of professional guys who can customize the style, energy, and feel for any wedding- no matter your taste. We, and our guests, were overjoyed that this versatility offered us both "Mom and Dad's" slow-song favorites, as well as the newer indie pop dance anthems of our friends. If the objective of your wedding reception is to entertain and have fun, which ours was, book these guys. Not your average wedding band- I look forward to seeing them perform again.
We absolutely loved The Significant Others! They did an amazing job getting everyone out on the dance floor and keeping them there all night. :) Great mix of music. They even did a...
pitch perfect duet with one of our guests! And because our wedding was in Savannah, GA I had at least three guests ask me, "Where did you find these guys!?" I sincerely hope I see them play again. We could not have asked for a better performance. Thank you to everyone for making our big day so special.
