The Skeleton Root is a working winery located in a historic industrial building in the northern part of Over the Rhine in downtown Cincinnati. Originally constructed in the early 1900’s, the space still honors its industrial roots with exposed brick and concrete throughout. Now repurposed to support winery functions you can experience classically inspired wine-making in the heart of the Cincinnati.
With a passion to bring wine-making back to its urban roots, The Skeleton Root honors the deep wine making heritage of Cincinnati - the largest wine region in the US during the mid 1800s. Our unique spaces offer a one of a kind setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions, rehearsal dinners, and showers. We can support small to medium group sizes, up to 100 guests.

new we wanted to incorporate the space into our own wedding. Having it as our rehearsal dinner space was perfect. Kate was great to work with. We used outside catering, a company they typically work with, Delish Dish, and it was amazing. The wine and drinks they provided were sensational. Everyone raved about the look of Skeleton Root. I highly recommend Skeleton Root for any private event! It is a beautiful place!

And just like that, even with many other options in the Cincinnati area, we couldn't see ourselves getting married anywhere else. The normal retail/day staff, who is AMAZING, was there for our event and they were even MORE AMAZING. I'm so grateful for how hard they worked in insuring that everyone was not thirsty and delivered so well on their service. The owner, Kate, is tremendous and definitely was a key player into how PERFECT our wedding day was. Truly she is there every step of the way and will go above and beyond to achieve whatever we have in mind. Please support this small business! Get some wine, hang on the patio, host some friends here and have a wedding here! We love skeleton and can't wait to be back.

I got so many compliments from my guests on the whole experience and how much fun they had. They staff broke everything down and pack it up for me at the end of the night. I highly recommend them! different spaces of the venue layout make it so unique and intimate. Kate (the owner) and her crew made our wedding day absolutely seamless. We had our ceremony and reception here and there was not a single hiccup the entire day. She was so great to work with and helped me bring to life my vision. Although it is on the smaller side, I loved having a more intimate amount of guests so that my husband and I could personally speak to each and every one of them. We brought some décor, but you really don't need much, if any -- the space is truly that beautiful on its own! I could go on and on about every detail that makes The Skeleton Root amazing - it was a dream. PS. Not to mention, they make amazing wine!!
