The Skin Club

Natalie knows her shizz and was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. During my trial appointment she worked with me to find just the right color palette and a style that felt comfortable and held up for the occasion (I have a lot of hair and get migraines so I was worried about finding a hairstyle that worked.) After the trial, I stopped by my sisters to get her opinion because I knew my husband would think it was too much. My sister and brother-in-law (who's a photographer) both thought it looked nice and would work well for pictures. I told her this and we had a laugh at how make-up can seem heavy when it's done for pictures and guys reaction to it. When we did our first look, one of the first things my husband said was how my make-up looked better than the trial and it was nice to see me as me. Dude, I don't know what see did differently, cause it seemed the same to me, but she did some kind of magic that got my man to say he actually liked it! Her pricing was on the high end of my budget, but SO worth it. In addition to that, she gave me an amazing facial earlier in the week of our wedding and got gunk out of areas that I have struggled with and were hopeless. I definitely will be going back for more. The rest of my party was happy with their HMU and Natalie and Ariel were either on schedule or ahead which made it a surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable morning. (It was also helpful because my mum wanted some adjustments to feel more comfortable.)

I booked a consult through Natalie for hair and make-up 8/8/25 with her contracted Artist named Arleth who has a studio in her home 1-1/2 hours away. She did a nice job. At the end of the trial I requested to confirm her time of arrival 8/30/25 my wedding day and she informed me she was already booked that time/day and referred me back to Natalie, who advised me she didn't know her Artist was already booked. What a scam.

I hate writing bad reviews, but I feel like other people should know. Natalie was nice in general aside from talking bad about my mom to her other makeup artist at the wedding. They said she was late so they didn’t do her makeup, but I asked when would be the latest she could arrive (she said 1, mom got there at 12:30). She still didn’t do her makeup. She technically did her hair but it was horrible so I (the bride) had to redo my mom’s hair on my wedding day even though I hired a hair and makeup artist. The other makeup artist left before she was supposed to. Makeup was okay but not really what I asked for. We did light and natural in the trial and then she said “you like full coverage right?” AFTER finishing on the wedding day. She was very unorganized, didn’t remember what we did or remember who was getting their hair and makeup done (even though she asked and confirmed a few times before the day). She kept calling people who weren’t supposed to, and missing people who were. She showed up to the venue 2 months early because she wrote it down wrong. Then she already had a trip planned the day of my wedding but said she could still do it. She rushed everyone, and everyone had to redo their hair after she left, including the bride. I don’t know if she was just in a hurry or if she truly doesn’t know how to do hair (maybe a mix of both) but it was a disaster. We were late for pictures because we had to redo everything. I saw the warning signs of disorganization and the “it’ll look better the day of” but I really wanted to give her a chance. Thankfully my bridesmaids were amazing and helped me look beautiful on my wedding day, but it sucks that they had to do that when I spent a lot of money on someone else to.

The Skin Club was fantastic! She worked me in for a trial and was accommodating to get me booked with a short turnaround. Natalie and Jaime’s work were fantastic, they were prompt, and they were enjoyable to be around. I had two ceremonies in one day under a covered outdoor patio space (with crazy wind and rain on/off all day) and hair and makeup still looked great for everybody at the end of the night. Would definitely book them again for my big day! My recommendation would be to book early as possible for your trial/contract so that you can get your date on her calendar before they book up, especially if you have a short engagement or turnaround!
