I truly cannot say enough about this venue!
The staff-
Every staff member was amazing. From the front desk, to the housekeeping staff, the catering staff and the sales team. Ever...
y single person that we came into contact with was amazing and genuinely kind. Our coordinator was Shay and she was the star of the show. She was by me every moment I needed her. She was a great advocate for me when things went a little sideways with some of our other vendors. Just all around an amazing person and you would be lucky to have her be a part of your day.
The rooms-
We had a pretty decent sized room block and we also stayed at the hotel. The rooms are very well done, embellished with beautiful decor. I think it was the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed it. All of our guests commented on how nice the rooms were as well. No one had any complaints, and for a group that big, it's pretty impressive.
The event space-
They just did a major renovation and it is breathtaking. If you are looking for a historic venue, this is your best option. The best features are the giant chandeliers in the ballroom. We were in the Continental for our ceremony and the Venetian for our reception. It was very convenient that everything was on the 14th floor, so no crazy elevator transfers. It was perfect for what I wanted.
The food-
We opted to do stations as our meal. We had a mashed potato martini bar, a pasta bar, and carved turkey as our main meal. We did hummus, veggies, bruschetta, and other crudité options. I have worked in catering in the past, and I have to say that this is the best catering food I have ever had. 10/10, no notes.
The other highlight was the Red Piano. It is such a cool bar with amazing drinks. We went there after our rehearsal and after the wedding (it was NYE so it was open later).
Overall, I highly recommend getting married here. I did not want a barn, and other venue types are hard to find in Oklahoma. I have to say, I think I picked the best possible venue.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue for our big day. The historic charm of this downtown hotel fit the elegant style we envisioned for our wedding. The recent top to bo...
ttom remodel enhanced the facilities without compromising the historic charm. Cheryl Jackson and Shay Mechling were both amazing throughout the entire planning process and our wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. The food was delicious and the bar staff kept the drinks flowing all night long. The hotel suite was beautiful and was the perfect place for our family and friends to gather before and after the wedding. We highly recommend the Skirvin and its wonderful team to any couple looking for an elegant and historic venue in Oklahoma City for their big day.
We had our wedding at the Skirvin and overall it was a great night and everything went smoothly. The venue is stunning and has that classic, elegant downtown feel that made the wh...
ole event feel special, especially after the remodel (the updated colors even ended up matching our wedding colors). There were also so many great photo opportunities around the hotel, so it made portraits and candid shots feel effortless and timeless.
Planning was a little hectic at first because we had two contacts leave, so it took some time to pin down the right person. Once we were assigned to Shay Mechling, everything improved immediately. She was personable, responsive, and consistently there when we needed her, and she also thought of details we hadn’t considered.
The food was excellent and our guests truly raved about it, which mattered a lot to us. That said, there were some mix-ups related to guests with food allergies, so that process could be handled more carefully. We also heard a few complaints about plates being cleared before some people were finished eating.
Bar service was a highlight. The bartender was excellent and made our guests feel genuinely taken care of. One area the Skirvin could improve is offering better choices for linens and table décor, as the options felt limited for the overall caliber of the venue.
Despite a few hiccups, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend the Skirvin, especially with Shay on your team.
While we did have hiccups with the venue and a few serving staff the hotel overall was fantastic. They addressed the minor issues and made the day amazing. Planning staff was incre...
dible and on top of their jobs every time we had a meeting or anything. Beautiful space and had great guest accommodations.
The Skirvin was so helpful in the planning process for the wedding. They do have a lot of rules for what you can/can’t bring in or do, but they pair you with an event coordinator t...
hat knows those rules backward and forward. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because communication wasn’t ideal on the day of. Other than that, having the Skirvin as both and venue and caterer was awesome.
We absolutely loved our Wedding at the Skirvin!! Wouldn't have had it anywhere else!!
The Skirvin Hilton in Downtown, Oklahoma City provided me with my dream wedding. Everything from the service to guest accommodations were exceptional and my coordinators were the b...
est as they helped me throughout my entire planning process. I could not have asked for a more elegant wedding and the Skirvin made me feel like a princess and treated my guests like royalty. If you’re looking to have an extravagant wedding I highly recommend the Skirvin.
The Skirvin Hilton exceeded all expectations as a wedding venue. We were beyond pleased during the planning of our wedding and on our wedding day. Thanks to the wonderful staff, e...
verything was easy, fun, and excecuted to perfection. Everyone was so knowledgeable and flexible from start to finish. We constantly get complements on our venue choice. The food is delicious, and the wine is delectable. Not to mention, it’s the most beautiful building in Downtown OKC. You can’t go wrong with the Skirvin!
The Skirvin Hilton Hotel went above and beyond to make our wedding day so special. The venue is beautiful, the staff so professional and food is delicious.
My wedding guests rav...
ed about our buffet and how delicious our food was, which made me extra happy to hear! The staff was so easy to work with in ensuring my wishes were meant, and were also so accommodating with my vendors.
The second floor ballroom is so elegant minimal decorations is needed.
I would recommend the Skirvin Hilton Hotel to any couple seeking a venue. They have everything that you would need-history, elegance and delicious food.
Thank you Skirvin for making our wedding a memorial day!
Cant wait to go back on our 1st anniversary! They gave my husband a free upgrade since it was our wedding. Everyone was so nice and it was gorgeous! Definitely a way to finish t...
he night off!
The Skirvin was excellent and really made sure my special day was perfect. We had about 250 guests come which the Ballroom was the perfect accommodation. Many of my guests also st...
ayed at the hotel which was very convienent. Debbie and Jenny at the Skirvin were SO great and made sure to answer all my questions and timely. It was so comforting to know that I could email a list of questions--however small or big and they would all get answered. They also helped make many of my ideas come to life. They are truly experts when it comes to weddings and understand what works and what doesnt. The catering staff were very open to any special food requests which I loved. Everyone raved about how great the food tasted, how great the setup of the food looked, and that the food was promptly ready when guests arrived. Everything the night of was taken care of and our evening went flawlessly. I can not say enough great things about the Skirvin, I know there were several staff involved that made the night go so great! The ballroom looked beautiful and all my guests had a great time!
We staied at the Skirvin the night of our wedding. After a long a stressful day I had no idea what to expect at a hotel. What I didn't expect was the beautiful decor, extremly frie...
ndly staff and amazing rooms. We are just common people and we felt like we were real top-notch people. We got the same great service as the executives that were staying at the hotel along side us. The beds.. amazing, the shower... so cool...everything in the room, decor, hallways, entry, and valet parking was planned and executed with the guest in mind. Everyone was prompt and so personable. Loved it and would love to go back!
We actually used our room for my bridal suite to get ready first. They were extremely accomodating in all our little needs like a newspaper, a comb, tying a tie and they even trie...
d to get a security ink tag off a shoe for us. As for our actual stay, it was great! Bed was divine! We were able to order chocolate covered strawberries and wine late that night when we finally returned. We were also able to put a tag on our door and order breakfast in bed at a time that we chose. Everything was perfect!
We had our reception on the 14th floor. Absolutely beautiful! The service was excellent, food delicious, and they were very accommodating with special request.
Working with the Skirvin was fantastic. I had a little issue with my main contact changing three times, but they are pretty good at transferring information on. Food was fantastic,...
got to taste everything and make modifications, willing to go above and beyond. Just be careful when catering, we had some people order a child's plate when an adult plate had been given to their child so we got charged double for about 20 kids who were old enough for the adult plate but wanted the child plate and never sent the adult plate back. That was the only bad thing about the Skirvin, but it did cost us $750 extra... Just be careful of that, otherwise the Skirvin is fantastic!
The room was phenomenal. We could have stayed in all night and not needed anything - there was a separate bedroom from the living area and the bathroom was to die for. The history ...
of the hotel is neat and it is beautiful inside. We ate in their restaurant which is nice, although pricey. Also the waitstaff seemed a little rude to me. It was a little busy for my tastes when we stayed here our first night because there was a basketball tournament downtown and a wedding going on at the hotel, but it was still a very nice stay. Also the parking and getting to the hotel was complicated because of construction so we ended up going into the back entrance, which wasn't what we were supposed to do. Whoops!
$200 for queen bed. Nothing special but great service.
The Skirvin was wonderful to work with. My wedding turned out beautiful, they definitely try to upsell but I'm sure most vendors in the wedding business do that!
We picked The Skirvin Hilton Hotel:Have the ceremony and the reception
Guest could get rooms and not have to driverooms to get ready in...
Top reason we choose The Skirvin Hilton...
it's beautiful.
The staff was wonderful and made our wedding weekend perfect!!! I would pick The Skirvin Hilton Hotel again and again!!!!
Best place to have your wedding reception. Everyone was very easy to work with. If you decide to use skirvin for your reception ask for Marci or Kerrie Lee
The hotle was so beautiful and easy to work with!
We had our wedding reception on the 14th floor of the Skirvin in the Venetian Room on October 9th, 2010. It was amazing! I am still hearing from guests how beautiful it was and h...
ow great the food was. Marci and Mark were a pleasure to work with and I feel that they made every effort to ensure that the reception went as planned and was even more beautful that I could have ever imagined. The staff was quick and efficient as well as friendly. The guests were blown away by the hotel in general...it's beautiful. As for the price...I feel it was a great value. We priced a couple of other places but the Skirvin does not charge for room use (one place we checked was $2500 just to use it!), they only had us choose two courses instead of three as we had a cocktail hour preceding the dinner, and the per person bar package was a value a well. I was forced to choose the 10-20k option but for 110 people to have a plated steak or fish dinner, an open bar for 5 hours, coffe and tea service, valet parking, and all the little extras we ended up spending about 14k including taxes and service fees. Well worth it!!
