The staff-

y single person that we came into contact with was amazing and genuinely kind. Our coordinator was Shay and she was the star of the show. She was by me every moment I needed her. She was a great advocate for me when things went a little sideways with some of our other vendors. Just all around an amazing person and you would be lucky to have her be a part of your day.
The rooms-
We had a pretty decent sized room block and we also stayed at the hotel. The rooms are very well done, embellished with beautiful decor. I think it was the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed it. All of our guests commented on how nice the rooms were as well. No one had any complaints, and for a group that big, it's pretty impressive.
The event space-
They just did a major renovation and it is breathtaking. If you are looking for a historic venue, this is your best option. The best features are the giant chandeliers in the ballroom. We were in the Continental for our ceremony and the Venetian for our reception. It was very convenient that everything was on the 14th floor, so no crazy elevator transfers. It was perfect for what I wanted.
The food-
We opted to do stations as our meal. We had a mashed potato martini bar, a pasta bar, and carved turkey as our main meal. We did hummus, veggies, bruschetta, and other crudité options. I have worked in catering in the past, and I have to say that this is the best catering food I have ever had. 10/10, no notes.
The other highlight was the Red Piano. It is such a cool bar with amazing drinks. We went there after our rehearsal and after the wedding (it was NYE so it was open later).
Overall, I highly recommend getting married here. I did not want a barn, and other venue types are hard to find in Oklahoma. I have to say, I think I picked the best possible venue.

Cheryl Jackson and Shay Mechling were both amazing throughout the entire planning process and our wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. The food was delicious and the bar staff kept the drinks flowing all night long. The hotel suite was beautiful and was the perfect place for our family and friends to gather before and after the wedding. We highly recommend the Skirvin and its wonderful team to any couple looking for an elegant and historic venue in Oklahoma City for their big day.

ole event feel special, especially after the remodel (the updated colors even ended up matching our wedding colors). There were also so many great photo opportunities around the hotel, so it made portraits and candid shots feel effortless and timeless.
Planning was a little hectic at first because we had two contacts leave, so it took some time to pin down the right person. Once we were assigned to Shay Mechling, everything improved immediately. She was personable, responsive, and consistently there when we needed her, and she also thought of details we hadn’t considered.
The food was excellent and our guests truly raved about it, which mattered a lot to us. That said, there were some mix-ups related to guests with food allergies, so that process could be handled more carefully. We also heard a few complaints about plates being cleared before some people were finished eating.
Bar service was a highlight. The bartender was excellent and made our guests feel genuinely taken care of. One area the Skirvin could improve is offering better choices for linens and table décor, as the options felt limited for the overall caliber of the venue.
Despite a few hiccups, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend the Skirvin, especially with Shay on your team.

It was so comforting to know that I could email a list of questions--however small or big and they would all get answered. They also helped make many of my ideas come to life. They are truly experts when it comes to weddings and understand what works and what doesnt. The catering staff were very open to any special food requests which I loved. Everyone raved about how great the food tasted, how great the setup of the food looked, and that the food was promptly ready when guests arrived. Everything the night of was taken care of and our evening went flawlessly. We were able to order chocolate covered strawberries and wine late that night when we finally returned. We were also able to put a tag on our door and order breakfast in bed at a time that we chose. got to taste everything and make modifications, willing to go above and beyond. Just be careful when catering, we had some people order a child's plate when an adult plate had been given to their child so we got charged double for about 20 kids who were old enough for the adult plate but wanted the child plate and never sent the adult plate back. That was the only bad thing about the Skirvin, but it did cost us $750 extra... Just be careful of that, otherwise the Skirvin is fantastic!

of the hotel is neat and it is beautiful inside. We ate in their restaurant which is nice, although pricey. Also the waitstaff seemed a little rude to me. It was a little busy for my tastes when we stayed here our first night because there was a basketball tournament downtown and a wedding going on at the hotel, but it was still a very nice stay. Also the parking and getting to the hotel was complicated because of construction so we ended up going into the back entrance, which wasn't what we were supposed to do. Whoops!

ow great the food was. Marci and Mark were a pleasure to work with and I feel that they made every effort to ensure that the reception went as planned and was even more beautful that I could have ever imagined. The staff was quick and efficient as well as friendly. The guests were blown away by the hotel in general...it's beautiful. As for the price...I feel it was a great value. We priced a couple of other places but the Skirvin does not charge for room use (one place we checked was $2500 just to use it!), they only had us choose two courses instead of three as we had a cocktail hour preceding the dinner, and the per person bar package was a value a well. I was forced to choose the 10-20k option but for 110 people to have a plated steak or fish dinner, an open bar for 5 hours, coffe and tea service, valet parking, and all the little extras we ended up spending about 14k including taxes and service fees. Well worth it!!
