THE SMOKE PIT

Of all the caterers we tasted, communicated with, and spoke to, the smoke pit was our final and best choice. They were so professional, the food was immaculate, and the service was so smooth. You can’t beat a classic BBQ dinner with the best Mac and cheese ever!

We had the smoke pit catered for our wedding and I can’t say enough when it comes to how happy we are with the service we received. The staff were EXTREMELY attentive and made sure that everything was perfect for me and my husband the whole night. The food was off the charts amazing and the guests were raving over every single food item. The desserts were also out of this world. On top of having the best service and food, there was way more then enough food left at the end of the night that the guests were able to take food to go AND we had plenty to go home with us as well. I can’t thank them enough for making the experience the best we could have asked for and more.

We LOVED having The Smoke Pit as our caterer and bartenders. The initial tasting was really fun, and we went home with a lot of delicious food! You really cannot beat the price, the taste, or the service. Alan, the catering director, was so communicative through the entire process. Our guests were RAVING about the food, and The Smoke Pit provided plenty of food so that we were lucky enough to be able to save some leftovers, even with people grabbing seconds!

Excellent food, staff, and experience! I can’t recommend them enough. Alan was so attentive to all my questions and requests. The food was incredible. My guests are still talking to me about how good it was. Highly recommend.

We used The Smoke Pit to cater our wedding rehearsal dinner in May 2022 and the food was PHENOMENAL! We served a group of about 35 and had burnt ends, pulled chicken, Mac and cheese, green bean casserole, and potato salad and every single thing was delicious. Our guests loved it. I also thought it was incredibly fairly priced and they communicated well with our event planner.

I had my wedding at Sky Retreat in Purlear, NC on May 16th,2021. Working with Alan was seamless and I highly recommend working with this caterer. From our catering tasting to countless emails to our wedding day, I never doubted our decision to use them. Alan made sure to coordinate all of our wants and needs extremely well (I’m sure he also did this in spite of a very busy schedule.) You can tell he works very hard and manages his time well to be as efficient as he is. We had a gas shortage this particular weekend in NC and they made it work! All of the staff who worked my wedding event from the Smoke Pit were awesome! They were prompt, kind and accommodating. Everyone at my wedding was very impressed with the food & the service. The food was basically all gone at the end of the night- which makes me very happy! I could not have asked for a better situation! Thank you guys so much!

The Smoke Pit was amazing! Alan made the whole process so easy. He is great at responding to your messages and helping to make any recommendations for your menu. The food is incredible and everyone at our wedding was raving about it.

We had the Smoke Pit cater our wedding on 9/5/2020! As a bride with food allergies I was worried about what I was going to be able to eat, but Alan was amazing to work with and ensured that my food would not be cross contaminated! I also had other guests with food allergies and they took care of them also! The carter staff was super friendly and helpful! I would use them again in the future if we need anything!

Working with Smoke Pit was great! Alan is very knowledgeable and offered lots of tips/advice for things we wouldn’t have thought of. You have complete control to making your perfect menu, as he has menus items other than bbq as well. The food was great for our wedding! We also hired a bartender through them, as all their pricing is extremely reasonable!

Alan was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process! He was flexible and accommodating to the last minute changes to our invoice when we decided to add hot drinks for our guests to enjoy prior to the ceremony. We had out of state and international guests who were thrilled to try some authentic BBQ. The servers were professional and made sure everything was perfect. There was even enough food to serve members of the Renaissance Festival staff. The Queen herself even grabbed a plate! I'd highly recommend the Smoke Pit to those looking to cater their next event.

We loved The Smoke Pit! Alan was awesome to work with! Any question I had, he would quickly respond and helped clear up any confusion. The food was absolutely amazing! It was just like if you had ordered in their restaurant! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed it, as did we! We took advantage of their bartender package and we are so very glad that we did! Thank you to everyone that helped to make sure that everything ran smoothly when it came to the food and the drinks! We will definitely be using The Smoke Pit again when we need anything catered.

There was some lag in between responses, and the set up was late for the rehearsal, but the food was great.

We love The Smoke Pit! The food was delicious and plentiful! Jeremy was our main point of contact for the wedding and he was so easy to work with and get in contact with. He helped each step of the way and never minded the crazy hours I attempted to contact him! The guys y'all had sent our venue, Colin Creek Farm in Mocksville, NC, WERE AMAZING. They worked so hard and were so nice. I'm not sure their names now, but they were absolutely fantastic! Thank you again!

The food was amazing! The service was great. Didn’t have to worry about anything on the wedding day. The chicken and Mac and cheese was sooo good. They also offer a bartender package, which helped us out.

Absolutely loved our food for the wedding, this place was affordable, and a delight to work with! definitely going back there all the time now!

Hired The Smoke Pit to cater our wedding and we were so happy! The food was just as delicious as it is in their restaurant and the staff went above and beyond during service and clean up of the venue.I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for rustic, country food for their wedding!
