We had The Smoke Pit cater and bartend our wedding and everything was amazing. The staff was very professional and the food was DELICIOUS. Our friends and family loved the bbq, especially the cornbread and brisket. My husband and I were super excited to have leftovers.

The bride and groom knew from the beginning that they wanted barbecue, and The Smoke Pit was an excellent choice. Having been to receptions where the food was subpar, we wanted the food to be something guests would enjoy. Alan at The Smoke Pit was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. The initial meeting allowed for a tasting of popular meat and sides, provided lots of information, and answered any questions. He was so pleasant to work with and quick and helpful answering all my emails. It was evident in our communication that he was going to do everything he could to make sure the reception buffet was exactly what we wanted and ran smoothly. Having a bartender we could use was also so helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests continue to rant and rave about how good it all was. Everything seemed to run smoothly and any issues that needed addressing were handled promptly and professionally. It was the perfect and highly praised choice for a mostly Southern crowd who eat a lot of bbq!

enu. We are very particular about our brisket and will go out of our way to visit BBQ restaurants that advertise having good brisket. We were not disappointed.
Alan made the booking process very easy. He is very knowledgeable and has a system in place. We were surprised to hear that he does over 300 events a year, but after meeting him and seeing his team in action, our shock disappeared. He arranged a tasting where we tried generous portions of the menu and provided a thorough explanation of what we could expect leading up to the wedding and day-of support. When we tried the food, we were pleasantly surprised by the chicken quarter with the Alabama sauce, as we are not bone-in chicken lovers. It made it on our menu with the brisket.
Our guests were very impressed with the quality of food and efficiency of service. Everyone working that day was kind and polite, and quick to replenish food on the line and clear plates from our guests. The bar tender was super nice, and the Lead checked in with us frequently. I appreciate that the team took the initiative to set up a space that worked best for them and set up in the house and garage without disrupting the flow of the event.
We would highly recommend The Smoke Pit for any event catering. It is extremely cost-effective and well worth the price. Alan and his team know their business and how to run successful events. We plan to visit the restaurant when we are next in town. Thank you, Alan, for your service and providing a unique dinner option that fit our wedding.

The day of the wedding, the food was excellent and there were plenty of leftovers. The next day my family was raving about the food and service, especially the chicken and even ate some of the leftovers that morning! Some even said it was the best food they ever had at a wedding.
If you are looking for professionality, great value and excellent food, LOOK NO FURTHER!!

On top of having the best service and food, there was way more then enough food left at the end of the night that the guests were able to take food to go AND we had plenty to go home with us as well. I can’t thank them enough for making the experience the best we could have asked for and more.

less emails to our wedding day, I never doubted our decision to use them. Alan made sure to coordinate all of our wants and needs extremely well (I’m sure he also did this in spite of a very busy schedule.) You can tell he works very hard and manages his time well to be as efficient as he is.
We had a gas shortage this particular weekend in NC and they made it work! All of the staff who worked my wedding event from the Smoke Pit were awesome! They were prompt, kind and accommodating. Everyone at my wedding was very impressed with the food & the service. The food was basically all gone at the end of the night- which makes me very happy! I could not have asked for a better situation! Thank you guys so much!
