The Southerland-Burnette House

Welcome! We are delighted to offer the Southerland-Burnette House, in Mount Olive, NC, to our community and beyond as a historic wedding venue. The Southerland-Burnette House venue offers a quintessential setting for any wedding event. The property's classical revival-style house is enveloped by a beautiful landscape and anchored by our iconic century-old magnolia. We offer packages for intimate indoor and outdoor weddings and receptions for up to 150 guests. Our bridal suite with complimentary tea and treats for the bridal party, is also included in our wedding packages. We also offer the perfect setting for wedding showers, bridal teas, bridal luncheons, rehearsal dinners, and engagement parties. Our story is rooted in love and family. In 1996, as my husband and I were planning our wedding, we wanted a reception venue that was unique and special. Even though the Southerland-Burnette House was not a venue at that time, the owners graciously allowed us to use this beautiful home as the setting for a perfect ending to our wedding day. The Southerland-Burnette House has held a special place in our hearts ever since. Our family was able to acquire the house in September of 2021 and we wanted to create a welcoming space where others could celebrate special occasions in the same historic home we have come to love. As a family business, we are dedicated to helping family and friends gather in a beautiful, elegant venue to make magical memories they will treasure for a lifetime. We are especially grateful that we are able to offer our services in a beautiful venue listed on the National Register of Historic Places and are able to preserve a piece of our town's history.
