The Starling

We absolutely loved our time at the Starling. The venue was gorgeous and the people were great to work with. We were able to use the venue for our wedding and reception, and got to use the boardwalk outside for our cocktail hour. So many of our guests commented to us about how picturesque this spot is in the heart of the Third Ward. Mallory (the venue coordinator assigned to us) was easy to contact during the planning process and was even easier to find during the reception. She always made sure we were taken care of, whether that was dealing with people, decor, or simply making sure that we were drinking water.

We cannot stop raving about our wedding day! We just had our wedding at The Starling on 9/29/23 and our family is still talking about how awesome the venue was! They make it so easy, have wonderful partnerships with Tall Guy and a Grill and MKE Airwaves. Huge shout out to the Brenning Brothers (The Starling venue coordinator - Nick & MKE Airwaves DJ Jack) for making the process smooth, the day magical, the drinks flowing and the dance party hopping! We highly recommend this venue and all their collaborations in support of Milwaukee as a community!

Absolutely everything about the venue and the people running it is fantastic. We could’ve have asked for a better team to guide us through throwing a party this past June after we got married in 2020 during Covid. Olivia was an incredible coordinator and everything ran like a dream on the day of the reception. The venue even catered to our “Crazy Hour,” a Colombian wedding tradition. The space is truly stunning and everything we wanted it to be. Having the riverwalk right there gives the perfect little escape when it gets too hot on the dance floor. Truly every vendor here goes above and beyond. It was a perfect day we’ll always remember!!

The Starling is such an amazing venue with fantastic team members! Each and every one of their staff is professional and talented. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was special and went seamlessly. Mandi was specifically amazing - always answered my questions promptly and would make helpful suggestions. Highly recommend it!

We were absolutely thrilled to choose The Starling as the venue for our wedding! The sleek and modern ambiance created an extraordinary setting that we were looking for. Not only was the venue remarkable, but the team behind it was equally exceptional. From the very beginning, we experienced great communication that instilled a sense of comfort throughout the entire planning process. On our wedding day, Matt, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that every moment was perfect and checked in on us. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour on the boardwalk, which was great! The bar staff crafted delicious drinks. Without hesitation, we recommend The Starling for hosting your wedding or event. The Starling paired with Tall Guy & a Grill and Milwaukee Airwaves, it felt like we hit the jackpot with these three extraordinary vendors.

Abby Acken was amazing. She made our day the best air could be and her communication is second to none. I wouldn’t of changed a thing about it.

We booked Starling for our early October wedding based on the amazing location in the third ward, the outdoor ceremony space with indoor reception area, and great expectations about what the space would look like once renovations were complete. All of those things were true and lived up to our vision for the day. However on top of all of that, this venue was a home run due to the amazing staff and the collaboration we felt as planning and details were finalized. We worked with Tyler - I don’t think he ever used the word “no” with us. He always was willing to hear out our requests and constantly wanted to do whatever would ease our minds. I felt so comfortable going into the wedding day (even without a separate planner) because of the customer service I felt from this team. Not to mention the great execution on the day of with Starling but also their exclusive vendor partners in Tall Guy and Milwaukee Airwaves. Everyone went above and beyond and we didn’t want the day to end.

We were lucky to be one of the first several couples married at The Starling, and the Two Birds Event Group did not disappoint! First a HUGE shoutout to Tanner, whom we worked with leading up to the event, and to Tyler who led our Wedding day as event coordinator. We had many questions throughout the process as we were planning our big day ourselves, and The Starling team was there to answer each and every one, and did not make us feel like we were burdening them. They truly did all they could to help make our day special, even down to letting us come in to perfect our signature drinks. (Speaking of drinks, they also have such an amazing array of cocktails and draft beers! And the bartenders were so, so friendly) The space itself turned out perfect! We loved the layout, as it was an easy transition from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception. And then inside it feels to flow seamlessly from reception dinner to the dance floor, to the bar. And the space lends itself to allow additional seating for our guests who weren’t on the dance floor, to relax on the other end of the bar. Also, if you choose to have your ceremony on the boardwalk in summer, as we did, there's a good chance that boats will go by and cheer for you- which we found to be so much fun. Also for my husband and I, it was a nice “ice breaker” in a sense, and helped relieve some nerves and tension. Overall, The Starling team was just amazing, so truly, thank you again for helping make such a beautiful day/evening for us.

Tyler was absolutely wonderful when my fiancé and I toured the Starling! Since it is still being renovated he was completely transparent about the vision and showed us their inspiration board. Transparency about pricing was also something we appreciated. Overall, if you are looking for a group that truly cares about your event give them a chance! We only decided to not go with them because of wanting somewhere closer for our families.
