I can’t recommend this venue enough! We held our wedding here about 3 weeks ago, and we were truly blow away from the venue & its team. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and it offers a unique and upscale cozy vibe for a wedding. Doug and his team were fantastic to work with through every step of wedding planning. They also did an outstanding job during our wedding. They paid attention to every detail, coordinated with our other vendors, and were so polite and accommodating during our wedding. The food was also excellent! Their bartenders are top notch, and even accommodated making our signature cocktail requests. Our guests are still raving about our wedding, the food & drinks, the staff, and how stunning the Stotesbury Mansion is. If you’re looking for a venue and team that will listen to all of your wants and needs and execute them without bearing additional stress on your end in a beautifully maintained historical home, then I recommend using the Stotesbury Mansion as your venue. We’re forever grateful for Doug & his team!
My husband and I don’t know how it took us so long to find Stotesbury Mansion when looking for a venue! It should be at the top of Philly’s lists. The venue itself is beautiful and provided an unconventional reception where the guests could roam around the many rooms and floors in lieu of traditional sit-down in one room. Doug was fantastic, communication with him was effortless from beginning to end and he truly eased a lot of stress and anxiety throughout the planning process and wedding day. We were blown away, our guests were blown away.
I can’t tell you exactly how Stotesbury came onto our list of venues but, we’re happy it did. The space was the perfect intimate setting for our 80 person wedding – not too small, not too big.
Bernice at Feastivities is an absolute pro when it comes to putting on events. She was calm and calculated as we debated moving our date from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic. Planning our wedding from two time zones away, she was on top of email, quick to get back to us with answers and guidance. Our reception ran so smoothly, if any hiccups occurred, we didn’t know. The staff were kind and friendly throughout the night, ensuring that tables and guests were tended to. We highly recommend Stotesbury and Bernice for a mid-size affair.
We recently hosted our daughter's wedding at the Stotesbury Mansion and had such a great time. It's a pretty small venue and we were told to keep it to a max of 110 people otherwise they really couldn't promise a dance area. Our total guests came at 102, 11 tables plus small sweetheart table. I really couldn't imagine one more table, it would be tight, but there was enough room for dancing and weaving in-between tables for the conga line, lol! The service was also in the ballroom and they did an excellent job flipping the room for dinner. Bernice was very thorough and Jim(Offshoots) was excellent. He really transformed the rooms into an enchanted evening. My daughter decided to go with dueling pianos(Philly Keys) and they MADE the wedding ! Two pianos plus she added a drummer so it was like a band and it was an "all request" night. We never left the dance floor. We are all still talking about it! If I had to pick a negative about our night at the Stotesbury it would have to be that there is no bathroom on the first floor and the elevator is very tricky for older people to figure out
My husband and I just recently got married at the Stotesbury. It was beautiful! My family and friends were completely taken aback by how amazing the home was. The staff was great to work with and always professional. PLEASE PLEASE use offshoots for your flowers. It was the best experience we could have asked for. Unforgettable!
We had our wedding at Stotesbury Mansion and used their exclusive caterer, Feastivities. The mansion is beautiful and has such historic charm! We wanted our wedding to have a fancy house party feel and as soon as we saw Stotesbury we knew it was the place for us! We chose to have a chef bars and carts style reception. This set up would allow our guests to mingle and roam around the mansion all night without having the lull a formal seated dinner reception might have. Throughout the planning process, we dealt directly with Feastivities. They made the planning process easy and always answered all of our questions. The food was excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed our private tasting at the Feastivities headquarters along with the tasting that was held with other couples at Stotesbury. On the night of our wedding the food was just as delicious and many of our guests let us know how much they liked the food as well! The staff was friendly, professional and always made sure we had food and a drink! We were slightly nervous our family and friends would not understand the flow of our wedding since it was not a formal sit down dinner but they thought it was so fun! The party started at cocktail hour and went non stop until the reception was over! From the billiards room to the ballroom, our guests had a blast and so did we! We highly recommend Stotesbury Mansion and Feastivities for your wedding!
An absolutely gorgeous and historic venue in the heart of Philadelphia. Our wedding day was made even more wonderful by the caring staff of Feastivities and Offshoots. Jessica and Lexi were present through the whole event to ensure that our night was wonderfully stress free and they were both so professional and warm. Jim from Offshoots, the recommended florist, created a floral, literary, candlelit wonderland that we could not have even imagined when we initially spoke to him about wanting books and candles for our centerpieces. I cannot recommend this venue or this staff enough!
We had our wedding at Stotesbury Mansion on October 12, 2018 and LOVED it! We had friends who got married there last year and that's how we became aware of the venue. I passed it many times before that without knowing what a gem was on the inside. Stotesbury is a 5-story mansion, 3 stories of which you get access to when you have an event there! The bottom floor has a foyer, front room, and ballroom. The ballroom is where our ceremony and dining during the reception took place. The 2nd floor has a bathroom and the library where the second bar and our photo booth was set up. The 3rd floor has the bridal suite with a second bathroom and a billiards room. We had 60 guests for a sit down/buffet dinner, but the space can accommodate up to 120 I believe if you prefer "performance station" dining over assigned seats at tables.
Ryan, the bar manager at Stotesbury and Owen our catering manager and day of event manager from Feastivities were both super accommodating. We had only 3 months to plan our event and both of them were quick to respond to calls and emails and to set up meetings. Feastivities is the required caterer for Stotesbry and for us, this was just fine! We loved our tasting and all of our guests were very impressed with the food. The space is so amazing- we utilized all 3 floors and the guests kept going on about it. It's also beautiful so it doesn't take much to dress the place up.
I've seen previous reviews about things being disorganized at Feastivities. This was not our experience at all. We had Owen from the start of the process to the finish. He was there for the event and stayed to the end, going above and beyond to make sure our experience was positive and his staff were kind and helpful. I would highly recommend Stotesbury and Feastivities!
Wow!! I cannot say enough how absolutely STUNNING and accommodating this venue was. It took my breath away seeing this space for the first time...I started twirling and couldn't hide my excitement. Stunning ballroom, ideal for parties of 100 or less. If you want a dance floor (duh!) 90 is the perfect number. Such cool history to this space as well. And can we talk about how reasonably priced it is for being in Rittenhouse Square?! It's a true gem. Highly, highly recommend!!
A wonderful venue -- very historic -- with very responsive, communicate planning staff. Our wedding was ~120 people, so the venue was perfect for what we were looking for. Intimate, unique to Philadelphia, the feel of a "really nice!" house party. We received so many compliments from our guests as well that it was a unique experience.
The Stotesbury mansion is an outstanding historic venue in the middle of Center City. We held our wedding reception here in late September, with cocktail hour in the foyer and Dolley Madison room and a formal seated dinner in the ballroom. The ballroom is actually fabulous with all the elements of sophistication of a long gone era. The mansion as a whole is the perfect backdrop for formal photography. Your contract actually allows you and your bridal party to arrive before the events the starts, so that you can take those perfect shots. There so many spaces (the library, the billiard room), that you have to carefully plan how to use them. 80-85 guests for a formal seated dinner seems to be the optimal size, with more guests you will have little space for dancing. The exclusive caterer is Feastivities, but that is actually a plus of choosing the mansion for your wedding or event. Festivities is just great (you can read my and the other many great reviews here at The Knot!) Definitely a venue that will stand out and will always be remembered by your guests and youself!
We are so happy that we found this beautiful venue. The space is reflective of Philadelphia's history, adorned with decadent moldings, warmed with fireplaces, and was made personal through all of our unique items placed throughout the space. We received many, many compliments on the architecture, decor, etc. from our guests, especially on the ballroom. The Feastivities team that you work with through The Stotesbury Mansion is organized, clear with communication and accommodating. We would highly recommend this venue and the Feastivities Team to anyone looking for an elegant space with delicious food and a stress-free experience!
After having our wedding here this past September, I cannot say enough good things about the Stotesbury Mansion. We worked specifically with Hannah, who helped us along every step of the way, from when we booked to the day of the wedding. Hannah and Annie made it a seamless event, and made sure that both of us felt comfortable with everything that was being decided on in each step of the planning process. All of the preparation that went into that day paid off, and all the staff there made sure that everyone was taken care the entire time. I was so relieved to be in such good hands, and it allowed me to have a stress free wedding day, and enjoy every moment of our special day. Thank you so much to the Stotesbury Mansion!
We just had our wedding at Stotesbury mansion August 20, 2016 & it was nothing short of amazing. The girls I worked with were so helpful & accomodating from the day we booked the venue to the final minutes of our reception. They made sure everything was going ok for my groom & I, it definitely made us feel special. The food was delicious & all of our guest raved about how gorgeous the venue was. We had so much fun on our weekend & I would recommend Stotesbury to anyone who is looking to get married in the heart of Philly. I couldn't have asked for a better time at our wedding.
Me and fiancé love love loveeeeeee this venue ! We are so happy we get to book this venue for our wedding in the upcoming year !
Stotesbury Mansion is a gorgeous venue. It's located perfectly off Rittenhouse Square where you can conveniently get tons of photos.
I had my wedding there in March 2016. The building itself is beautiful and doesn't even need much décor (just need lots of candles and a some flowers). My guests thought that the venue was so classic and amazing.
We had nearly 100 guests, which was a good size (nearing tight squeeze). There was just enough room on the dance floor.
I love that you get all three floors with a pool lounge and bridal suite on the third floor. Also, there's a neat, old elevator that people are allowed to use.
Don't be fooled by the great venue pricing (especially for off season dates), they catch you with the exclusive bar and caterer. The exclusive bar package gets to be very expensive, though I will say that the service was great. Also, while the caterer is pricey, Feastivities was amazing to work with and their food was phenomenal.
The only big complaint would be the bathrooms which were very outdated and the toilets were very slow to flush, but I think the toilets are being replaced in two weeks so future guests will not have this issue.
Overall, this is a great venue that has an intimate, classic feel. It became a pricey affair, but I wouldn't have gone anywhere else.
This place is gorgeous! We wanted a unique (read: no hotel ballrooms!) venue for our wedding and this definitely fit the bill. I loved the stations-style reception we had. Guests were able to roam throughout the gorgeous mansion all night. We had desserts spread out, chefs roaming around with prep carts, and a cigar bar in the upstairs billiards room. The party wound up being both extremely elegant and VERY fun. Karen from Feastivities was super flexible with everything we asked for. We really customized the entire event to be "us" and she was very patient and accommodating every step of the way. The food was incredible and everyone let us know that all night. It was fun, presented gorgeously and completely customized to what we wanted. They put together a plate of hours de vours for my (at that point) husband and I so that we would be able to enjoy them as well, but the server just kind of stood in front of us and I guess expected us to scarf them all down minutes after arriving. I asked if she could set them aside at a table behind the DJ booth for us (which we had put there for this very reason) but she didn't. The waitstaff was also VERY overzealous with clearing away drinks. I understand the need to be prompt with doing so, but I shouldn't lose my drink every time I set it down to hug a family member :-/ They were also a bit unorganized in passing out the champagne toasts. Most of the bridal party (including the bride and groom) didn't have champagne to toast with because of it. Just be clear with your event planner that bridal party glasses should be handed to them after they're announced into the ballroom...seems obvious but worth mentioning I guess. Nothing will go perfectly with such a big event I guess and overall the wow factor of the building itself is what I really wanted. Everyone's still talking about our wedding which makes me really happy! If you want something different and elegant that you can completely make your own this is IT!
Stotesbury Mansion was a beautiful venue for our October 2014 wedding with just under 100 guests. The venue itself features three floors (all part of the rental) including the ballroom, foyer and sitting room, library and coat room, and billiards room and bridal suite, which allowed us to comfortably transition our guests from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception without having to drive anywhere--a lifesaver in Center City! We had so many great photo spots to choose from, including a short walk to Rittenhouse, and the Feastivities Events staff made coordinating everything a breeze. Highly recommend!
The site was beautiful and everything that I desired. The event planning company I used however was preoccupied and inattentive. I was assigned 3 different planners for my event. Worse yet the planner was changed the night before the event and she was preoccupied with other events she was planning. I was so disappointed.
We had our wedding reception at the Stotesbury, and it was absolutely beautiful! With 140 guests, the Mansion was the perfect size. The ambiance was perfect, and the Feastivities staff worked so hard to make the night flow seamlessly. On top of all of that, the food was to die for! I definitely recommend the Stotesbury Mansion for wedding receptions!
This venue was gorgeous - all of our guests commented on what a perfect location it was, and such a unique and special piece of history, preserved in all its splendor! Stotesbury made our wedding something really special!!
We had some trouble initially with receiving call backs or emails in a timely fashion, and had to request to be switched to a different contact caterer. However once this was done, our day went very smoothly and we were very happy. The food was excellent, and the site was ultra cool.
