photos because what was done to our photos is completely unacceptable for a wedding photographer to send as ‘finished photos’. There were clone circles all over our photos. Some covering our faces and others had our faces in the sky. It looked like the photos were edited with eyes closed. Again, I would NOT (can’t emphasize it enough) recommend The Studio I Do. I will add a few of the many photos we got with the clone circles.

ut trying to get ahold of Gene is like pulling teeth. He was prompt to respond and answer questions before we booked, but then would take days to weeks at a time to respond. He ghosted us for nearly an entire month right before the wedding to the point we were trying to find a last minute replacement, and only finally responded three weeks before. Day of he was late, but still was able to get all the photos within the time limit so no real issue there. My biggest complaint is that we are now six months past the wedding and he still hasn't finished our photos or sent the USB drive copy. We haven't been able to order our canvas photos either as we don't have all our photos to choose from. He is ignoring my messages for, again, days to weeks and then will give a promised deadline but not follow through. Pleasant enough to work with, but must be terribly disorganized to be dropping the ball like this.

lot of fun at the reception. We received so many compliments on them from family members and guests. They kept us on schedule and calmed any fears I had along the way. The reception went perfect and was so much fun thanks to their energy and sense of humor. They were worth every penny! ad engagement pictures. Gene asked me to send him ideas that I wanted to be sure we got. I sent him a lot of ideas and when we showed up for our session, Gene had them memorized! He coordinated our session and told us how to pose and where. Then we got all the edits within a week! There wasn't a single one (of 600) we didn't like. After that we could not wait for our wedding day because we knew he'd be just as efficient then too. Gene and Sam were fantastic. We got all the images that I wanted for our wedding day and some that we never would have thought of!! We've had numerous compliments on our reception as well. Gene and Sam kept the crowd entertained and caught some great pictures of the crowd! I HIGHLY recommend them to everyone. Why get a separate DJ and photographer when you can get both in the same package with the best photographer in the Sioux Falls area! :) The best part for me was that he doesn't put his name across the whole photo and you get full printing rights. I didn't want a photographer that ruins my photo by putting their name across the whole image or an entire corner. Gene is personable, funny, organized, professional, and a great photographer. to, he was on board immediately. He was so professional and fun! And his assistant Sam was also great! He worked with the bridal party a lot throughout the day and they all said they had a blast. Sam was so kind to me and made sure that I was happy. Gene really caters to his bride and delivers a beautiful end product.

Upon reviewing the pictures, I noticed he focused most of his editing on background contrast which showed NO detail of the dress, flowers and tuxes. There were many pictures with very unusual poses, he was not directing us or giving ideas of areas to take pictures. We kind of walked around and took a few, walked a little more and snapped a couple along the way. Also, as stated in my photography contract, I was to get a free canvas of my choosing included in the booking price. I have emailed Gene directly multiple times and there has been no response. Overall, he had a good attitude day of, I wished I would have spent my money with someone else.
