I cannot recommend Ashley highly enough. She did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I truly felt like the most beautiful version of myself.
From the very beginning, Ashley was kind, calming, and incredibly professional. She listened carefully to what I wanted and somehow made it even better than I had imagined. My hair and makeup photographed beautifully, lasted all day through the ceremony and celebration, and still felt comfortable and natural.
What impressed me most was her attention to detail and her ability to create a look that felt elegant, timeless, and completely me. On such an emotional day, having someone with Ashleyâs talent and calming presence made all the difference.

ow she asked follow-up questions and was receptive to feedback, so we could achieve the looks we wanted. Definitely do a makeup and hair trial! I don't regret doing the trials at all. It's worth it. It was hard finding a beauty vendor that would do only my wife and I, so we also appreciate the flexibility of the company. My wife and I both worked with her for hair and makeup on the day of our wedding, and we both did trials with her. My wife is Chinese, and I'm mixed race with 3A-3B curly hair. Ashley was able to handle our very different hair textures and our different skin issues. My hair lasted the whole night and didn't frizz too much, which was incredible. Makeup lasted through crying and tearing up. My wife's hair was curled for their event and her curls stayed in! Ashley knows how to work magic and make you feel like you. We didn't want to feel like we didn't look like themselves. We wanted to look naturally beautiful and feel good, and Ashley was the person who helped us do that. Also, I love how upfront The Stylist Abroad business is about supporting queer and trans people. Our goal with our wedding was to support artists and support the queer community, and it felt good working with Ashley and her company. We looked beautiful, and we looked like ourselves, and it's thanks to Ashley and her hard work.

One thing I especially appreciated is the stylists donât work more than one wedding per day so I had a lot of flexibility around scheduling and didnât have to worry about my stylist getting delayed or rushing to another booking. Our stylist was Asia, and I loved her. She did a great job, making adjustments I requested after my trial, and was a calm and joyful presence as we got ready. We looked great and our hair and makeup lasted all night.

Hair: Gabriela was excellent. She is skilled, detail-oriented, and very patient. She is so good at what she does that I barely felt her hands on my hair, and it felt like magic when I finished with the perfect hairstyle. She was also flexible on the wedding day, as we made some small changes to what she had practiced in the trial. I got many compliments on my hairstyle and the hairpiece that Gaby helped me choose. My bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law also loved their looks, which lasted through the night including some very intense wedding dancing!
Makeup: Jenna was amazing and an absolute joy to have as part of the getting ready process. She is very experienced, meticulous, and collaborative. She knew exactly what to do for our different skin types, and my makeup lasted long past the end of our wedding reception. She was very respectful of my request for natural makeup and lashes, and found a way to still make my lashes look full. She also expertly handled some pre-wedding skin blemishes and made sure to add moisterizer where needed. My bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law also loved their looks, which lasted through the day, including some crying at the wedding ceremony!

Pretty late in the process, I realized how crunched the timeline was and how many bridesmaids wanted hair or makeup, and Ashley coordinated for Javon to come help too! We had a great time working with both of them and I am so grateful for how everything turned out! All in all, Ashley and I met for engagement photo hair and makeup, my bridal trial, and the wedding. I haven't gotten wedding photos back yet, so photo is from my engagement hair!

question right away, and gave so much insight! For the trial and on the day of my wedding, my girls and I worked with Kim (hair) and Jenna (makeup), and they were both amazing. So kind, so friendly, and clearly knowledgeable! I was deciding between two hairstyles, and Kim was happy to try both in my trial. I had a couple things I wanted to change with my makeup, and Jenna was more than happy to accommodate! I was incredibly pleased with both looks on my wedding day, and everyone looked incredible!! I was definitely very blessed with the weather on wedding day, so that also helps, but hair and makeup stayed in place fabulously! The cherry on top is that everyone was just so sweet and easy to talk to!! Made the start of the day so pleasant and relaxed, and it seems like all my girls had a great time, too! A few reasons we'd HIGHLY recommend working with the Stylist Abroad:
1) Their organization is impeccable! Ashley was such a valued resource for us as we worked to finesse a schedule that involved more than 30 services (we actually hold their record for the largest number of services lol) and trying to not force folks to get up too early.
2) All of our hair and make up artists did an amazing job and were such joys to work with! Shout out to Gabriela and Asia who did our bridal hair and makeup and Kim and Jenna who did an amazing job with the other members of our bridal party.
3) Our bridal party involved folks with a variety of skin tones and gender expressions that have had issues with hair and makeup artists in the past. We were so impressed with the Stylist Abroad's team's commitment to ensuring they had the skills to make everyone feel beautiful and authentic.

Everyoneâs makeup looked beautiful; she was very attentive to all of the details and taking into account our personalities and makeup styles. I really appreciated this as I do not wear makeup on a daily basis. She was also a lifesaver, helping to fix my unruly tan lines from the summer.
Asia was also amazing to work with for our hair and she did it all beautifully.
Asia and Jenna were very friendly and very efficient; they were always on-time and ensured that our morning prep ran smoothly.

I knew we had found the perfect match when we found The Stylist Abroad. Ashley was beyond amazing to work with! She was upfront about the price, the timeline of what we wanted for our day, and how we could best work together. Ashley was a fantastic communicator but an even better hairstylist.
On our wedding day, I had two bridal party members, my sweet 82-year-old Nana and myself, who needed their hair done. Ashley was on time and hit the ground running! Each of my bridesmaids loved how their hair looked. My hair was perfect, exactly what I wanted for my wedding. And Ashley made sure my Nana felt glamorous. Ashley is incredibly talented, and it showed in each up do!

love the air brush makeup, the quality products she used was outstanding, everyone who got their makeup done looked fabulous and it felt so light on. They make traveling to our location easy and feel hassle free. I did not have a traditional bridal party, so she created unique looks for my friends and family. They all looked stunning! From first glance at the website and instagram page for The Stylist Abroad, I was drawn to how much LGBTQIA and diverse representation was present in the pictures and posts. And as simple as it sounds, I loved that the inquiry form asks about preferred pronouns. I was also super impressed that they used vegan and cruelty free products!
In my first conversation with Ashley, I could see how much she cared about giving each person a wonderful wedding experience that matches their style. After we talked about my style, Ashley was able to find a set of beautiful moon and star hair pieces that perfectly accessorized my updo. Ashley is also very responsive, which was crucial with our short timeline.
For the trial and our wedding day, I worked with Katelyn and she is such a talented and wonderful person! Katelyn asked a couple questions about how I pictured my wedding day look and she brought my vision to life. She accentuated all of my favorite features. I felt glamorous and got so many compliments!
As amazing as Katelynâs skill was, the best part was how relaxed and special she made me feel. In all of the wedding day craziness, Katelyn created a peaceful environment and I was able to unwind, chat, and even have some good laughs that helped me get into the perfect mindset to absorb the beauty of the rest of the day.
