The Sullivan House

The Sullivan House and Block Island Catering were tremendous!! We got super lucky with a beautiful (although hot) day for the wedding! The Sullivan House looked fantastic and provided the beauty we wanted for our wedding. Linda was very helpful for the planning process and day of wedding stuffs, and the entire staffed knocked it out of the park! Definitely recommend this venue for a BI wedding!

Sean & Linda truly went above & beyond for our wedding week. While a lot is left to the last minute with seating charts, vendor coordination, last minute guest cancels... Sean & Linda were calm and collected through it all and put me at ease that everything would work out. They were extremely responsive that whole week and offered to help when it was outside of their job description. By the end of the weekend, they felt like part of our family. The venue also speaks for itself. You couldn't have a prettier view in New England than the Sullivan House. The proximity to the beach for pictures in the dunes & the wraparound porch create a truly unique experience. I wouldn't do anything differently! Best weekend ever.

Even before I met my fiancé, the Sullivan House is where I always pictured getting married. Life, however, brought us to live in Florida, even though Block Island always held a special place for the two of us. When our spring 2020 Florida Keys weddings plans (and postponement plans) fell through, we reached out to a friend who had gotten married at the Sullivan House who put us in touch with Sean. We had about four weeks to put our microwedding plans together in order to line up with our families’ summer vacation plans, and Sean could not have been more helpful and accommodating. He was flexible in the planning process, allowing us to pivot along with the ever-changing restrictions of summer 2020. In the end, our 30 guest ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. Sean, Linda, and the entire team were true professionals — without knowing the back story, many guests would have thought we spent months planning what ended up being the most perfect day! The food was delicious, service wonderful, and we felt well taken care of through the entire process. Thank you!

I honestly could not have asked for a better wedding. Of course, The Sullivan House is a spectacular venue, situated between two bodies of water on one of the most beautiful islands along the eastern seaboard. How can you go wrong? However, Sean and Linda do not rely solely on the naturally gorgeous location of their establishment. They do everything they can to ensure that the bride and groom plan their wedding in an organized and detailed fashion, offering helpful pointers along the way. They are the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. So many people talk about how planning their wedding is a nightmare. As someone who generally dislikes planning large events, they made it so very easy for me. I actually enjoyed the process (as did my husband)! The food is incredible - Sean is a gifted chef. The staff were so kind and welcoming to our guests. I can't tell you how many people came up to me to say that it was both the most beautiful AND fun wedding they had ever attended. Linda deserves special kudos for making sure that the ceremony and reception flowed seamlessly. There were no hiccups. So many couples say that they don't get the chance to eat/dance/drink during their own wedding. Because of Linda and how she organized everything, we had ample time to enjoy food, mingle with our guests, and let the joy and beauty of the day sink in. I honestly enjoyed every single moment of my wedding, and nothing felt like it went by too quickly. Finally, the Sullivan House is a great choice if you want your wedding to be more than one afternoon. We arrived on Thursday, had our rehearsal dinner on Friday, and the ceremony and reception on Saturday. Strongly recommend having the rehearsal dinner at the Sullivan House, as it allows you to settle in to the weekend (and they do a great job). Having it be a weekend, versus just a day, made the entire experience that much more memorable and lovely. I could write a novel about how much I love this place. We plan to return to celebrate anniversaries :) Thank you so much, Sean and Linda!!
