The Sutherland

We hired Lena, one of the full service planners for full service planning. She was professional, responsive, and made the experience less stressful for both the bride and the mother of the bride. As mother of the bride, I enjoyed the whole day because I trusted Lena to run the show and take care of any issues that popped up. The venue itself is stunning. The grounds were well-kept and the staff was fantastic. I highly recommend The Sutherland for any event.

edding day (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception) was huge for us! We wanted to be able to utilize each spot for our day and they made it happen! The House and bridal party getting ready area is spacious and accommodating for large groups. Everything was perfect. I will be reliving that day over and over again! Highly recommend this venue for your wedding/reception!

athtaking, we loved the historical/ plantation type feel. The inside looks like an editorial from vanity fair, there are so many places to take beautiful pictures in the house. Our ceremony was in the walled garden, it is so serene and intimate and landscaped so that it is beautiful no matter the season. I am so thankful for the artificial turf, there was no sinking in the ground, getting muddy or tripping over uneven ground. The Pavillion is so open and airy, the glass doors and high ceilings bring the space together. The staff is beyond professional. Donna is so organized, patient and sweet. She knows her stuff, and during the rehearsal gave great instructions on how to place bouquets or hold and escorts arm so that it doesn't look funny in pictures. She is so detail-oriented and I am so thankful for the because the day of I knew she had everything handled and would make the day beautiful (Which she did). Lena helped her out the day of and she is so attentive, and is there is a pinch, my dress was still a little long even after being hemmed and she stepped in with safety pins and bands to bustle it more so it wouldn't get stepped on. The Pour Bar staff is simply amazing as well. They were also attentive, kind and can make one heck of a drink.

I think their vendor selections and some policies seem strict, I understand why venues try to keep lists small. The day of- I was blown away by how easy everything was and the staff was on point- which was fantastic. See the venue for yourself- it's picture perfect! The hotels nearby were also very helpful as we had lots of out of town guests.
