We had our wedding here and it was wonderful! We used Bryanna for our coordinator, who was hired through the venue, and she was super helpful! She was always very quick to respond to my many emails and always very informative. She also was very helpful for our rehearsal and set up. The day wouldn’t have ran so smoothly without her!
The beauty of the venue speaks for itself. It’s so beautiful inside and out. Our guests keep telling us how cool it was and that they’ve never seen anything like it. It’s also a very big area - the deck, ceremony space, and inside, it was nice to have plenty of room for everything we needed without having to move tables. Overall the venue made our special day feel even more magical.
The food was incredible! This is another thing our guests keep telling us they really enjoyed. We got appetizers, dinner, and late night pizza. All some of the best food we’ve ever had!
We used the Timber Lodge for our wedding party to stay, for our rehearsal dinner, and for getting ready. It was such a nice area to all be together, and so convenient with it being right by the venue. Such a great added perk!
We truly had the best day ever at the Swan Barn Door. We highly recommend it!

I just had my wedding at this beautiful venue on 8/22/26 and I am still over the moon about how our day went. From my coordinator, Candace, checking in throughout the whole process and being so hands on, to the outstanding bar and catering services, this day couldn’t have gone better. My husband and I are so pleased we get to walk away with such beautiful memories of our wedding day. All of our guests are still raving about what a unique and stunning venue it was too! ial day. We had around 200 guests, and there was plenty of room for everyone to comfortably enjoy the ceremony and reception.
GET READY /CEREMONY:
The outdoor ceremony space was absolutely beautiful, and the buffet food was fantastic—our guests had so many compliments about the meal. The upstairs loft was a nice place to get ready before the ceremony. It was also fun to watch the guests arrive from above. The bridesmaids and mothers used the get ready room downstairs for a hang out place while we did our first look. There were many great locations to have a first look. We chose the loft which worked nicely.
ON SITE LODGING, Timber Lodge:
The Timber Lodge was exactly what we needed. Since I had a Friday wedding, the wedding party all stayed at the lodge Thursday and Friday night. A HUGE convenience!! Myself, the bridesmaids and mothers got our hair and makeup at the Timber Lodge, which was incredibly convenient as well.
The only issue we experienced was a sewer problem at the Timber Lodge, but once we reported it, the staff was on site and looking at the issue within an hour, which we really appreciated. The groomsmen had it way worse as they were the ones staying in the basement. Their duffle bags and anything on the ground got wet. They didn't have anywhere to shower after golfing, so they went back to my father-in-laws house to shower. Luckily he only lived half an hour away.
SUGGESTIONS / IN THE FUTURE:
If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be better communication from the venue in the weeks leading up to the wedding. There were times when we wished for more proactive updates and clearer communication during the planning process.
Overall, our wedding day was everything we hoped for, and the Swan Barn Door provided a beautiful venue that helped make it unforgettable. We would definitely recommend it to couples looking for a spacious, rustic wedding venue with a stunning outdoor ceremony space.

We even had a groomsman lose a button on his jacket, and the owner took care of it on the spot. We had the pleasure of working alongside Candace, our coordinator, who helped make our day as smooth, and stress free as we could hope. Both our guests, and we could not have asked for a better venue, and staff to work with. The building the owners have built is second to none, and one that has to be seen in person to truly appreciate the hard work, and attention to detail while constructing. We would recommend The Swan Barn to anyone planning any major life event.

She responded to my questions promptly and was very helpful throughout the whole planning process. We also rented the two houses on the property for our wedding party to stay in all weekend and that worked out so well. Having everyone in one spot was so much fun, the houses were clean and worked perfectly! Highly recommend!

She was on top of decorating and made sure to check in with me with any questions! The food was also delicious. The caterers they have were so friendly and did an incredible job of making everyone happy :) We also stayed on site at the 2 houses they offer and those were a huge bonus! Our wedding party was able to sleep comfortably and had a place to hang out the entire weekend. Our guests still talk about how awesome everything was, so thank you Swan Barn Door for an unforgettable weekend. We truly couldn't have asked for a better venue. We would get married here a million times we could!

- from the chandeliers made from the roots of trees down to the swan intricately designed into the wood floors this venue was whimsical, elegant and everything we dreamed it would be. It is family built and has a lot of heart, including in its team. Kari was prompt with communication and her daughter was also present and extremely helpful the day prior to the wedding when we had access to the venue to set up. We chose to have a Friday wedding that included the day before package which worked out splendidly for us. I emailed Kari the week prior to our wedding and received all the answers I needed regarding venue access and last minute final detail questions. The Swan Barn Door catering (Kamado Flo) was absolutely delicious. From all of our guests I heard nothing but praise for the venue and food. It was the easiest and one of the most impactful choices of our wedding and from the bottom of our hearts we are grateful to the Swan Family and their team.

After seven years in business, the front entrance is still piled with bolder rocks, forcing guests and vendors with equipment to enter a back door or come around a deck ramp in order to get in. The owner's complacent attitude continued throughout the planning and execution of this wedding. The rentals, services, food and staffing do not merit the high fees. The owner is unhelpful, unfriendly, apathetic and even rude to the point that other vendors and guests make note and apologize for her behavior. The interior of the barn is, lovely and rustic, but don't be fooled...The food from their kitchen for this wedding was of average quality, not served warm and not cleaned away, causing guests to stack their plates. These are only a few of the unfortunate situations that caused guests to leave early. Read ALL the print on the contract and be forewarned of what IS there and what is NOT.

t me tour it as soon as possible because their dates were booking up fast. My excitement was quickly crushed once we arrived for our tour and were met with the completely unenthusiastic owner, Kari. It was extremely awkward and we felt like there must’ve been some kind of explanation. (Like something horrible had just happened or something) It was pretty much a self guided tour. She had no information to offer us…and any time I asked a question, she had a wishy-washy or careless answer. After the tour, I looked at a million other venues trying to convince myself to go with something else. In the end, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and believe it was just a bad day.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Kari just doesn’t have enthusiasm about anything and it was noticed by several people. (Or guests on the big day) I truly feel it’d be better if she took the backseat as an owner and hired staff to take over. We hired Kayla, their coordinator, to avoid communication with Kari as much as possible. Kayla was amazing and I’m SO glad we hired her. She was incredibly organized and helped everything run smoothly. All of the other staff we worked with the day of the wedding were wonderful and helpful as well.
The venues food was amazing and the beauty of the barn did not disappoint in person. They unfortunately nickel and dime you whenever possible, so make sure to read the fine print and keep in mind that “prices are subject to change.”
At the end of the day, I felt it was important for a bride to give a thorough review of their experience. The good and the not-so-good. It truly depends on what’s important to you and how much work you are willing to do on your own, or the money you are willing to spend.
I’m happy with how my wedding turned out, it was just a rocky experience to get there.

When my now-husband and I started searching for a wedding venue, we struggled to find a place that was right for us. We didn't feel like hotel or country club or botanical garden ...

We knew we wanted a large reception area to support our big families, ceremony and reception at the same place for ease for our guests, an outdoor ceremony but an inside back-up option that was just as beautiful if weather necessitated moving inside, and somewhere unique that didn't require us putting together a lot of decorations to make it beautiful. It seemed like an impossible task, until we found Swan Barn Door. As soon as we arrived there for a tour, we knew we had found our place. The magical feeling of this place cannot be fully captured with photos. From the privacy of the barn, the sunlight streaming in the tall trees around the ceremony area, and the details within the barn including beautiful wood flooring, columns of trees on the main floor, chandeliers in the style of tree roots covered with lights, everything was unique, charming, and romantic.
Kari was so receptive to emails, and when we made the difficult decision to postpone because of COVID she was very supportive and helpful in finding us a new date.
We worked with Kayla as our wedding coordinator, and she was so wonderful and helpful! She was full of great suggestions and definitely was the reason our day ran so smoothly. She was so responsive and involved in our wedding planning, even more impressive as she was getting married the week before us!
Our day ended up being more perfect that we could have ever imagined. We heard so many compliments on the venue and Kayla. I'm so glad we found the Swan Barn Door - thank you for making this the most special day of our lives!

e, and the great experience Kari and Paul provided for our 2019 wedding. Let me confirm this place has it absolutely right for appreciative deserving couples. Amongst so much uncertainty and pandemic troubles the wedding industry must have be dealing with, i want to give a shout out, supportive review, highest praise and best of wishes to Kari and Paul’s venue, these two are friendly and hard working. I felt a special solidarity to the rusticness and naturalness of what they’ve built with their own hands and sweat equity. Give them benefit of any doubt as family business owners/operators. This place made the hair on my arms stand up and when I walked into the reception area, and the band started to play, after just exchanging my vows, that’s no joke. Everyone has dreams of a memorable big day, you can make it happen here! Our guests commented then, and year later, about the incredible outdoor ceremony space, the deck, the walkable area around barn, and the upstairs overlook. Gemma and I would HIGHLY recommend the Swan Barn Door to everyone! nue was. The outdoor ceremony area is nice and shaded. The building itself is spectacular. You can look at photos all you want, but it won’t do the building justice. Not only is the building a selling point, but the staff was SO nice and caring!! Kari (the owner) was very quick to respond and willing to help us. We traveled three hours to see the barn and any time we needed to go there again, she was very flexible on when she could be there to meet us. We had an open bar, and the staff was SO nice to our guests; one even offered to drive people to the hotel if they couldn’t find someone sober to drive. (It wasn’t necessary, but we highly appreciate the fact that they cared about our guests!) It was truly an amazing place to get married!! Not only that, but she was also there working the entire day of our event! To say the Swan's take pride in making their couples happy is an understatement! Even more, the venue is absolutely breath taking. The amount of detail and hard work that has gone into this rustic barn is evident, and it did not go unnoticed. I was a tad bummed that the flooring in the barn wasn't done in time for our wedding, but other then that one tiny thing, everything was SO gorgeous! We did the late night pizzas through them with their wood fire pizza oven out back, and those were a hit! I kept hearing from many people "This was the best wedding ever!!" If you are looking for a rustic, romantic, unique wedding venue in the beautiful Wisconsin Dells, this is the place for you!
