I reached out to Shayna when I was still uncertain how many people we would be able to have at our wedding due to covid. She quickly suggested a tiered cake and a double layered sh...
eet cake that we could add or subtract given the current regulations, which was fantastic.
Because we planned our wedding from out of state, we had limited time to fit things in while visiting Michigan. We tried three different samples in the same sitting we tried Shayna’s (because of covid tastings were done at home) and there really was no comparison between the moist and fluffy texture of her cakes versus the other two bakers.
The design was also wonderful. I showed a photo to Shayna as inspiration and explained how I wanted our cake to look and she made that vision come to life. It was beautiful. We ended up with a three tier strawberries and cream cake and a double raspberry (raspberry sponge and raspberry filling) sheet cake. Both were amazing and we received many compliments.
Given the taste and appearance of the cake I would have expected the prices to be higher but they were very competitive. I highly recommend Shayna!
I worked with Shayna to design my husband's groom's cake for our rehearsal dinner. The sheet cake was designed like a football field with a Spartan football in the center. It looke...
d awesome and my husband loved it! Shayna was easy to work with and did an excellent job at explaining all of my options.
Very happy with The Sweet Cake. Shayna was great to work with and she did an excellent job. We had cupcakes and a small cake done for our wedding. We had so many compliments on the...
cupcakes and they were cute too. I appreciated her letting us take the cupcake boxes home to decorate them and bring them back to her. The shape of the small cake didn't turn out how I expected but it was still nice. Overall I'm very happy that I went with The Sweet Cake. Their prices are great too!
We hired Shayna to do our cake for our winter wedding. We sent a picture to her of what we wanted, and Shayna made it come to life. It was absolutely beautiful and it tasted amaz...
ing. We had many compliments about it. Shayna was very easy to work with, especially to set up a tasting appointment and with any other questions we had. I did a lot of research trying to find a cake within our price range, and Shayna was far below any other quote we received, and I'm certain the quality of what we got was far beyond what we would have had through others. Thanks Shayna!
Delicious cake and beautiful design! My only regret was not getting the banana flavor for all three layers!
I have no idea what I wanted for a wedding cake, they were creative, helpful, and fast at responding to all of my questions. The cake was beautiful, delicious, and unforgettable! T...
he price was very affordable too!
The Sweet Cake Company worked hard to earn my business by designing a wonderful wedding cake and grooms cake that fit my budget. Would absolutely use again! Wedding date: 9/28/12
While my cake was very beautiful and looked just perfect, I thought it was very dry. I know September is a busy month and all with weddings but my friend had her wedding in septemb...
er 2 years before and her cake was so tasty that I had to use the same company. I have tasted many of the Sweet Cake company's cake before and never was it dry. I don't know what happend, but I was really disappointed.
To begin with my taste test was so thorough, she had several selections to try and was kind enough to give me several to take home. My cake was three tiered, vanilla on the bottom...
, chocolate in the middle, and marble on top. It was covered in a rich chocolate buttercream frosting and had natural raspberry filling. She decorated my cake in sugar calla-lillies (my wedding flower choice). By the end of my wedding (89 guests showed out of 115) my cake was gone. Thankfully we saved the top tier for our anniversary but due to the amazing taste it didn't make it and we instead gobbled it down the following weekend. I highly recommend this vendor. She does amazing work and she is so easy to work with.
Our cake was exactly what I wanted. Shayna is very talented and can do anything! The cake tasted awesome too. We got so many compliments on our wedding cake and we even had a littl...
e extra to take home and enjoy! The price was worth it!

cake perfect, but The Sweet Cake Company was wonderful as well. Made the entire process so much fun and helped us design the cake of our dreams.

My experience with the sweet cake company was a dream. From taste testings to the day of everything was organized, beautiful and delicious! I had so many complements and questions...
on how a cake could be so beautiful and delicious. She has many unique flavors and was very reasonable in price. (about half of the price I was finding everywhere else) and she also makes her cakes completely from scratch, which surprising many bakeries do not.
The cake tasted amazing. She also did our flowers. They were very inexpensive however we git What we paid for.
We tasted this cake at a bridal show, taste alone won me over. We were not disappointed. Shayna met with us, sketched what we wanted, let us taste. It was the BEST CAKE EVER! O...
