Cake nightmare rude manager..... never ordering here again
Don't bother placing an order here. Cake nightmares. Associates doesn't know what they are doing and messed up my order not once but twice after they took it back to fixed it. Manager Shawn not sure if she's the manager and if so she needs to be demoted. I sent an email and Shawn not once apologized for what her team did. And stated there won't be a refunds. She even quoted me $80 and charged me $115.95
Everyone loved our cake from Sweet Tooth! The decor we asked for was beautifully done and the cake tasted great. We had fallen in love with a certain icing flavor before landing on sweet tooth and they gave us two different tastings while they perfected the recipe (the icing was a flavor they hadn’t previously done before). They were pleasant, easy to communicate with, and on time the day of. If it says anything, we ended up with only three pieces of cake left at the end of our reception!
I don’t know how I missed the link for Sweet Tooth Bakery on this website, but somehow I did when I was doing other Wedding vendor reviews earlier on—SO glad I found the link now! My husband and I were married in April 2021 at a church in Berryville, VA and we had our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Reception at beautiful Historic Rosemont, also in Berryville. We worked with Joyce from Sweet Tooth Bakery in Winchester, VA for our wedding weekend cakes and sweets. Right from the start, we were blown away by Joyce and her Sweet Tooth treats. After we tasted her yummy cake samples at our Rosemont “Vendor Day” interview, we knew she was the baker for us. We had a very hard time deciding on the flavor and filling of our wedding cake because all her samples were so delicious. And the chocolate Grooms Cake—oh my goodness! My husband and I were engaged on Mardi Gras, so our Rehearsal Dinner had a Mardi Gras theme. We showed Joyce a picture of a Mardi Gras cake idea we had, and she truly brought the vision to life. She even ordered some gold colored crowns for decoration, where one sat majestically right on top of the King Cake. The perfect touch! Joyce and her colleagues also made decorative Mardi Gras-style cookies, where they were liked so much that a guest asked if they could take the leftover cookies with them after the Reception. And there were chocolate covered strawberries, too, we can’t forget those—it was like Joyce brought Sweet Tooth Bakery right to Rosemont—wow! And that’s not all—our wedding guests stayed on the lovely Rosemont grounds, and we wanted them to have some sweet treats in their rooms, so Joyce and her colleagues created individual little chocolate gift boxes for each guest, as well as the most amazing pralines, wrapped in cute little bags. If someone would have given me a bucket of those pralines I do believe I could have eaten them all! And I want to add here that I don’t believe pralines were a “standard” item at Sweet Tooth Bakery when we asked Joyce about them. But perhaps they should be because they were that good! When my husband and I got it in our heads that we wanted to have pralines as part of our Mardi Gras theme, and we asked Joyce if she could make them, she was sweet as can be. She thought for just a moment and said, “Well I don’t see why not!” And the rest is history. I still think about those pralines and start drooling! Thank you Joyce and all your Sweet Tooth colleagues for making our sweet-treat and wedding-dessert dreams come true!
This cake was so good but our recommendation goes beyond that. Our original cake plan fell through only a couple weeks before the big day so we had to come up with a new plan. Upon our last minute scramble we happened upon this company and we were so lucky that we did.
First off, in relation to price there is no better deal in the area. Delicious cake at starting at $2 per slice. Everywhere else was more like double that. Then there is the business itself. The happy and helpful people that you speak to, who calm you down, and let you know immediately that you are in good hands. In two weeks, we did a tasting, chose the flavors, and communicated and decided on a final design (pinterest boards are really helpful for this). We arranged delivery and knew that we had nothing to worry about after that. And this was all finalized the Thursday before the wedding.
This company takes care of it's brides. They do everything they can to keep the process stress free on their end. And believe me, I had a lot of stress going on when I turned to them. Having no cake as of the last couple weeks was a bit of a hurdle, but they told me we had plenty of time and I knew from that point that I could trust that.
My wife and I were very pleased with the entire wedding cake experience! We first taste tested various combinations at their store - up to 3 cake flavors, 3 icings, and 3 fillings. We were able to mix and match as we wanted with our choices - this made it easy to decide what was best for us. We described a design we had in mind the day of the tasting and they certainly delivered on our big day. Simple, white, vines, green = perfect. They even delivered on a Sunday! Very happy with the entire staff and very happy with the YUMMY flavor - their whipped icing is the way to go!
The Sweet Tooth Bakery did an amazing job on our wedding cake and cupcakes! We got a two-tiered cake and 5 different flavors of cupcakes. Everything was delicious!! The brought the cake and cupcakes to the venue and we were able to rent a cake stand. Our guests were raving about how gourmet and delicious the cupcakes tasted. I worked with Joyce, at times she was hard to get in contact with. She was not always prompt about answering emails, and I never actually met her in person. However, when it came to the big day she gave me everything I wanted, and it was perfect! We can't wait to eat the top of our cake in a year!
If it weren't for the challenge that it was to hear back from the owner, we would have rated their product at a 5. The cupcakes and 6" round that we ordered for our wedding were absolutely delicious, but the whole experience was unfortunately spoiled by the severe lack of communication, order/pricing mix-ups, and overall confusion with each encounter. Great cakes if you're willing to test your patience through the dysfunction.
The wedding cake turned out beautiful and exactly as I wanted it. It tasted great too and all of my guests enjoyed it. It was delivered on time to my venue, for a small delivery fee which I was happy to pay just for my peace of mind. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because they were not the best at replying to emails.
Wedding Cake Nightmare
4 tier wedding cake was ordered and only 3 tiers made it to the Cake Table. This was a very elegant wedding in a huge tent and the cake looked very dwarfed with only 3 tiers. During delivery, they dropped the largest layer on the ground in the field at the corner of the tent. We were left with not enough cake to serve the guests, the bride and groom didn't get anymore than the bite they fed eachother during the cake cutting. And to top it off, they didn't even clean the cake from they ground, there were chunks of cake on the ground and icing smeared in the grass for all of the guests to see what happened.
I waited to leave this review in hopes that they would right the wrong by refunding the cake. Sadly, not even half was refunded. We will never use this bakery again, nor will we refer anyone.
my cake was amazing and very well priced!!
I had my own design and even had a cake made as a mock of what my cake would look like. The design was great and tasted wonderful. I had no worry.....wrong my cake at my wedding was not at all like it was supposed to be. The scroll work was hardly there the colors were not right the base icing looked like the didnt care. was supposed to be pearlized not done. Very late the lady called to confirm 2 days before and said between 10 & 10:30 cake didnt come till 12 pm my wedding was supposed to start at 12 so it ran us so late. was horrible I do not recommend!!!!
Great cake! Reasonably priced. The design turned out fantastic!
The peanut butter filled chocolate cake was our favorite; however, we had to choose something else due to an allergy.
We got our wedding cake from Sweet Tooth, it was a small, square, three tiered cake that served about 50 people and then we got sheet cake to serve another 150. The pricing was amazing! I had gotten a price quote from a bakery in NOVA who wanted to charge us around $900 for what we wanted....I think we paid around $450 (including delivery 20 miles away!) at Sweet Tooth! It was a lemon cake with raspberry filling, and fondant. The icing and fondant were soooo good! The cake itself was a little dry and not very lemon-y, but the delicious raspberry filling in the middle pretty much made up for that. I was very impressed with what an excellent job they did decorating the cake, it was very elegant and professional!
I dropped in on 7 days prior to my wedding and ordered a 6" cake with 85 cupcakes. The baker was shocked at first when I told her the wedding was a week away but she went with it. Ordered chocolate with raspberry filling and buttercream icing. Cupcakes looked great and so did the cake. And tasted great too! On the day of the wedding, the cake slipped and the top layer slipped a bit off of the bottom layer. All we had to do was call them up, drop by the bakery and they fixed it without hassle. And the price was unbelievable, right around $100 for it all :)
Great tasting cake and icing
