The Tailory was recommended to me, along with a couple of others, from Lovely Bride in Philadelphia where I purchased my dress. After reading reviews and looking at pictures, I decided to go with The Tailory and I truly could not imagine having gone anywhere else. Sara is truly an artist and so talented and I was never once worried about my dress once it was in her hands. She was such a pleasure to work with, and made both of my fitting appointments so enjoyable. She spends so much time with you at your appointments making sure your dress fits perfectly and just the way you like it, and has such an attention to every single detail. When I went to my final fitting, the dress felt like it was custom made for me after she worked her magic on it. I could not recommend her enough - you and your wedding dress will be in the best hands!

Sara at The Tailory is the best! She is so sweet and professional. She is open and communicative. She worked with me throughout the multiple delays and postponements of our wedding due to the pandemic. The top portion of my dress was far too large when I first brought it in, but Sara did a great job both resizing it and refitting the lace. It felt like a dream to wear it! I could not recommend Sara more!

Sara did an incredible job of capturing my vision for my dress. She was super attentive to all the details and she did a great job making sure I felt comfortable and safe through this crazy time. My husband really loved the bustle.

I am so glad I went with Sara at the Tailory for my wedding gown alterations. She had experience tailoring my gown before, and it certainly showed. She had lots of advice for my Maid of Honor and I about how the gown was very dependent on the person tying it, and she was just perfect. I had a specific vision for my gown and she completely went with it, more importantly she did not try to deter me from it like some tailors can tend to do. Sara perfectly and thoroughly explained to me what I was asking for, what it meant as far as wearing it, etc, and I was able to make fully informed decisions without feeling "led" into them. I loved her so much! Highly recommend.

Sara is the absolute best! I can't emphasize her attention to detail enough and she's so incredibly caring. I was nervous about getting my dress tailored given how expensive it was, esp since I read a lot of horror stories online for other seamstresses, but she is DEFINITELY the one to trust. She took her time and is truly an expert at what she does. My dress had 3 parts --a dress, a skirt that overlaid, and wings that attached to the back. I had no idea what my "strategy" was for wearing each piece, but she even offered her advice which was so sweet of her - she truly cares about your big day and I would 1000% recommend her!!!

Sara did an incredible job and I am so happy I found her. She helped bring back to life my late Aunts wedding dress that was 40 years old for my ceremony and put the finishing touches on my wedding dress for our reception. She is so friendly and warm and is definitely someone you can trust with your wedding dress! Sara is professional and thorough and did a wonderful job making me feel fantastic for my wedding weekend!

Sara was amazing! She tailored my very intricate lace BHLDN dress to fit perfectly. She did a beautiful french style bustle, too. I loved wearing it my entire wedding day and it fit like a dream :) I cannot say enough kind words about how friendly and talented Sara was through the whole process. Highly recommended!

Sara was my favorite vendor. She is truly a genuine sweet person who is so talented! Sara altered my dress perfectly. She made the dress fit like a glove and made me feel beautiful at every appointment. I can't express my gratitude for her services enough. Sara was so wonderful to work with and has such talent. I purchased an off the rack dress from BHLDN that she was able to transform into something that looked like a high end designer gown. She made the fitting process extremely easy and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Sara is an exceptionally talented tailor. I came to her with 3 dresses - 2 new wedding dresses (1 trumpet from Made With Love, 1 a-line from Blush by Hayley Paige) plus my mom's wedding dress from the mid-70s (which was basically a nightgown, as was the style back then) that I wanted to revive as a shortened rehearsal dress. She immediately understood how to approach each type of dress, expertly fit all of them to my body while ensuring I felt comfortable, and listened to my feedback. Her transformation of my mom's dress was beautiful and she also added a comb to my mom's simple tulle veil so I could wear that with one of the dresses. All the dresses looked fantastic.

Sara was an absolute joy to work with! My dress was a sample and way too big, and she made it look like it was totally custom made for me! She added straps to customize the dress, and I am not exaggerating when I say the dress was my absolute dream. Could not have been better! Sara is so sweet, genuine and kind. She spent plenty of time with my mom and me making sure we were completely comfortable with everything. I seriously can't say enough good things about her!!

Sara was the absolute easiest and most wonderful part of planning my wedding! Her work is absolutely wonderful, and she is timely, organized and professional to work with but more than that she is absolutely lovely, and put me at ease even when planning was getting the most stressful. She helped me make decisions about how to alter the dress (cups, bustle, etc other things that I had no clue what I wanted) and the final product was INCREDIBLE. I could not recommend her more!

Could not recommend Sara enough! Not only is she the nicest and most kind person, but she's also exceptionally talented. She was hands down my favorite vendor I worked with, making me feel like an old friend from day one. I came in with a sample dress that was over 4 sizes too big for me, and I wasn't totally in love with the style. Sara was able to take my vision and bring it to life - making this oversized strapless dress into a gorgeous, fitted (with straps!) wedding gown. I am so lucky I found Sara when looking for a tailor for my wedding dress. Cannot recommend enough; working with Sara will be the easiest (and best) wedding-related decision you'll make!

Sara did the alterations on my wedding dress and it turned out beautifully! The dress was originally made with very thin straps (“spaghetti straps”), and I asked Sara if she could make much wider lace straps for the dress. She did an incredible job at making it look like that was how the dress was designed all along! Beyond her talent, she is so wonderful to work with. She is always kind, patient, helpful, and it is obvious that she takes great care in her work. She also made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. I cannot thank her enough!

Sara was amazing. I ordered a Katie May Lanai dress online directly from Katie May so I didn't know of any specific wedding dress tailors in the area who were good with lace. I also had a short-ish time frame since the dress was coming in the mail around 6 weeks before my wedding. I read these reviews and decided to send her an email and she was so nice. She mentioned that she had tailored the Katie May Lanai dress before so she knew it well. She was so sweet and tailored the dress perfectly to my body and in time for my wedding day. I would recommend her to anyone!

Sara is my hero. I love this girl. My three fittings were nothing short of wonderful. It made the drive to Manayunk worthwhile (that says a lot haha). What can I say my dress fit PERFECTLY. If I could add a picture, you would all agree. When my sister gets married she will be forced to use Sara. Oh and it doesn’t hurt that she is an absolute doll.

Sara made me feel comfortable instantly! We worked together to talk about the placement of the waist to compliment my figure. She took off the lace and hand placed it, the work was beautiful! It looked like it was made for me. She sewed in cups into the Made with Love dress, and covered the sheer with lace so that you did not see the lines of the cup. I can not say enough great things about Sara and her work! If you have a Made with Love dress, bring it to her!!

I cannot thank Sara enough for the wonderful job she did tailoring my wedding dress! Throughout the entire process, Sara was very easy to work with and always kept to the timeline she promised. My dress needed boning added throughout the entire bust and Sara did an amazing job adding it without it being noticed. The end result was a dress that fit so perfectly and I felt super comfortable in! I received so many complements on my wedding day about how beautiful the dress was and how it fit, and I have Sara to thank for that!

Sara does amazing work! I had a lace wedding dress from BHLD that needed to be shortened, bustled, as well as some adjustments done to the top. Sara was helpful in explaining everything she was going to do and wanted to make sure I was comfortable with what she planned to do the dress. Sara is a freaking GENIUS. Sara's attention to detail is amazing; she makes great recommendations, and is not pushy at all. I was so nervous to trust a person to work on my wedding dress because, "what if they ruin it, what if they do something that I don't like, etc etc". However, within the first few minutes of meeting Sara I knew that I was in good hands. I even wanted to make last minute adjustments and Sara never once made me feel weird, bad, or like I was being crazy. She was accommodating with working around my work schedule to make our appointments. With Sara's alterations and adjustments, she literally made me love my dress even more than when I got it. Her craft is impeccable and I can't even put into words how amazing it was to be one of her clients. I've never met anyone as accommodating, professional, and genuinely kind as Sara. Choosing her to alter my dress was the best decision I made. I highly recommend her and she is worth every penny.

I found Sara at The Tailory online and was so excited to work with her because of the amazing reviews. She blew all of them away! Sara is amazing! I'm so relieved Lovely Bride referred her because out of the entire planning process, getting my all lace (lace sleeves too) dress altered was the only thing that made me nervous. I stalked her reviews on the Knot and Yelp and was put at ease before I even met her. She is meticulous, personable, and extremely talented (seriously, just got look at her own wedding dress- AMAZING!!). My dress fit like a glove even with my oddly shaped body and I received SO many compliments on how perfectly it fit. I almost forgot- she also tailored my after party dress, which was a completely different shape, fabric, material, etc and it couldn't have fit any better. I trusted Sara at The Tailory in Philadelphia to alter my wedding dress. Her work was flawless, and I love that she took so much pride in her work. We had to make big changes to my gown, and Sara did an amazing job. During the visits she could tell I was nervous, and she did a great job calming me down and reassuring me. Keep in mind, the easiest way to communicate with her is via email, which was fine by me. She is quick to respond and flexible with her schedule. Payment was due at my final fitting. Her prices are fair, and although she prefers cash payments, she does accept credit cards! For any Philly Area bride, Sara was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her in a heartbeat!

I was referred to Sara by Lovely Bride as they do not do bridal alterations and could not have been happier to find her. Her studio is in a great neighborhood in Manayunk and parking is very easy to come by. At my initial fitting I thought my dress fit pretty well and it wasn't until I picked up the finished gown that I truly appreciated and realized her talent. The dress fit like a glove but was still so comfortable. She was extremely attentive and gave great suggestions (many different bustle options, what to do with the belt, etc). Aside from the dress fitting perfectly, you couldn't tell there had been any alterations. She is a perfectionist and true artist. I wish she altered clothes other than wedding gowns because I would use her anytime I could!

Sara is a true magician! I got my dress at the Sample Rack and it was at least 2 sizes too large. It was also a very unique dress and Sara not only made it fit like a glove, she made recommendations along the way that made the uniqueness of the dress shine (like adding dainty straps to a strapless dress)! She takes the time to understand what look you are going for and her talent is truly unparalleled. Thank you Sara for everything!

Sara is one of a kind. Honestly, her skill and professionalism are top notch. Beyond that, she is gentle, kind, and puts you at ease immediately. She spends time with you, listening to your ideas and asking thoughtful and clarifying questions. She took a dress with full sleeves and full back, and turned it into a lacy, summer dress I felt light and comfortable in all night. She worked diligently to make every alteration I needed in a timeline that included her own wedding (!), was always quick to respond to emails, and treated each session with me as if I were her only client. I trusted her every step of the way, and after communicating my vision to her, she made it a reality. I cannot speak more highly of her talents, or how kind and wonderful to work with she is. Sara was absolutely a pleasure to work with it. She is extremely talented to say the least. She was able to alter my beautiful Carol Hannah gown and help me turn my Grandmother's 1950 wedding dress into a beautiful cathedral length veil. Sara was so amazing. My wedding dress had lace all along the bottom and I was worried about how it would work with the dress being shortened. It was flawless. She did such an amazing job. Sara is extremely talented, kind and patient. I used yelp to find her based off of reviews and boy I sure am glad I did! I bought my dress in Florida and brought it to her. I had a very vivid image of what I wanted it to look like. She was so receptive to what I asked and told me realistically what she thought would and wouldn't work. Her professional demeanor and advice was exactly what I needed and I am so grateful! She went above and beyond my expectations and wishes and all for a very reasonable price! My mother in law and aunt went with me to each fitting and we can't say enough how impressed we were with her. The work she did on my dress was quite extensive too. She basically built a full corset with boning into my dress. She made a dress that was meant to be hanging from the shoulder to an off the shoulder dress. She was able to accommodate my bust, which I consistently have problems with. She also removed quite a bit of tulle from the dress. She removed the train making it sweep slightly and beautifully along the ground in the back. I felt beautiful and was comfortable all day the day of my wedding! Book her if you can… you won't regret your decision!

You don’t really understand how essential the tailoring of your wedding dress is until you spend 12+ hours in it. I can honestly say that after the ceremony, reception, and all of the dancing I still felt extremely comfortable in my dress and all thanks to Sara. I ended up having 4 fittings with my dress, which underwent major alterations, including the removal of quite a bit of satin (in the skirt and under the train), the fitting of my sleeves, addition of a bustle, and hand application of a large amount of lace. Throughout the whole process, I never once doubted Sara’s work. She immediately made me feel comfortable from my very first visit and has a wonderful way of taking your thoughts into account while also offering advice/suggestions. She was always prompt and professional in her email communications. When I put my dress on at my final fitting, it fit me like a glove – Sara’s work is impeccable. I had no issues with my dress the whole time I was in it on my wedding day, and she had made sure my mother and I knew how to zip, button, and bustle it before we left the final fitting. I cannot recommend Sara highly enough! She is truly an artist and an expert tailor.

Sara is AMAZING. She is so sweet and friendly and professional. I was fortunate that I did not need many alterations to my dress, but I was concerned about getting any alterations since it is a completely backless dress. Alterations are so important to a wedding dress and Sara does an absolutely amazing job. My Pronovia's dress needed a little bit of work everywhere (taken in, taken up, arm hole reshaped, cups seen in, hem trimmed and fixed, bustle added, and etc.). No small task for a dress that had no structure (just crepe material). While Sara is busy, appointments are pretty easy to schedule and she's very responsive to email. First fitting took the longest as we worked through and pinned everything. My mom and I were there over an hour that night and Sara was a patient perfectionist. At the second fitting, Sara had warned that there want too much done yet (sides taken in) because the altering the sides can alter the length, which is very wise. I would never have thought that, but it makes sense. She made necessary pin changes and we talked through anything else I wanted to change. Again, Sara was super friendly and professional. Third fitting was the pickup. My dress was perfect. Fit like a glove that was made just for me. Alterations can be pricey where ever you go, but the quality you get can really differ. Sara is amazing and worth it. I would recommend her to anyone needing alterations. You can trust that your going to fit and look perfect in your dress.

Sara was fantastic to work with and did an amazing job altering my strapless lace wedding dress for my August wedding. She was courteous, friendly, professional and skilled. I never once had any anxiety about how my dress would turn out, and it fit like a glove on my wedding day. So pleased with her work that I have already recommended her to a coworker getting married in June.

Sara was AMAZING! I am so glad she was recommended to me. Had three fittings and my dress was perfect. Sara was super accommodating with some last minute rescheduling changes on my end. Her shop is great. Parking can be a pain--be sure to show up early for appointments with her! Fantastic job!

I loved working with Sara at the tailory. She is very responsive to emails and phone calls, she is easy to schedule with, and the work she did on my dress was great. Prices are reasonable for this area. She made clear all my options in altering my dress and let me know her professional opinion without being pushy. My dress turned out great! It was strapless and I didn't have to hike it up ONCE the entire wedding day/night. My bustle (3-point under-bustle) did break towards the end of the night, but it was a heavy satin and lace dress and I was dancing my butt off... so these things happen.

I am so happy I decided to go with Sara for my wedding dress alterations. My dress was too long, and the dress was a laser cut lace that was extremely complicated. Sara made the dress look like it was perfectly made for me, and I am very impressed with the intricate work she did on the hem. She is very friendly and patient, and I was happy with the work that she did. I also thought that her pricing was fair. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to alter their wedding dress.
