From the very first contact to the night of the reception, our experience with The Tangier was nothing short of exceptional. The team was not only professional, but also so incredibly personable, making us feel as though we were the only event they were planning. They took our daughter’s vision and not only brought it to life but elevated it into the most elegant and classy reception she had always dreamed of.
On the day of the wedding, Angelica went above and beyond, sending us photos of the setup to make sure every detail matched our expectations and even tweaking one element to make it absolutely perfect. She and her team even surprised our daughter with a special touch that made the night that much more magical.
The food was excellent, and the staff was amazing, attentive, kind, and professional throughout the entire evening. For days afterward, we received texts from family and friends telling us how wonderful everything was.
Having attended events at The Tangier before, I knew they had a reputation for quality, but this truly exceeded every expectation. From the food to the decor to the flawless service, their attention to detail is unmatched.

Four Venues, Endless Vibes
Choose from multiple venues, including the Ballroom at Our Lady of the Cedars, The East End, The Trailhead at Cascade Lofts, and The Greek Community Center. Each venue has a distinct style, with indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception options to suit your celebration. The Ballroom can accommodate over 300 guests, while 260 guests can celebrate with you in the historical East End. Intimate and rustic, The Trailhead is a space surrounded by nature with a capacity of up to 150 guests, bar and drink facilities, and accommodations. Situated at the University of Akron, the Greek Community Center can accommodate celebrations with up to 300 guests. Angelica also gave wonderful recs for various vendors that we used. Ask about the Beer Vespa.. it was an absolute hit during cocktail hour!! We cannot recommend booking this venue any more highly, you will regret not using this venue!

She knew we wanted a late August date and kept in communication with us whenever other couples would change their dates and free up ones that we wanted. She answered all of our questions and helped execute our reception to perfection. Everything was set up beautifully.
We had a nice sunny, warm day last August for our wedding and the patio at this location was a big hit with our guests.
Plenty of parking at this location, plenty of hotels nearby for guests, beautiful venue, and professional team led by Angelica.
My husband and I highly recommend this venue and working with Angelica!

There were only a few small details that were not ideal. Venue staff was not available much the week of to drop off items. While cleaning up, several items were broken and we were rushed out before double checking office area. Bridal ready area is in women's bathroom, so guests were coming in prior to ceremony. Also, no ready area for men aside normal restroom.

questions leading up to the wedding, has years of experience and is super friendly and a pleasure to work with. She would lay out all of the options without giving her advice unless you asked for it and anything we needed the day of, she was on it! The venue itself is beautiful, bright and the perfect size. There is a patio off of the main hall for guests to go outside, a large menu to choose from and everything is very reasonably priced. My wedding went by very smoothly and it is largely because of Angelica and her team at the Tangier.

pectations. From the moment we met with Angelica, we knew that it would be a fabulous and memorable evening for all. Her attention to detail, vast experience and knowledge, and ability to embrace our vision left us feeling totallyconfident that all would go as planned. The Fountain Room is so architecturally beautiful and provides guests with a sense of historical significance and times gone past; so perfect for our Gatsby-themed reception. The multitude of choices for linens, centerpieces and tableware fit any theme and color scheme one can imagine. The food was absolutely amazing and the options of a chef attended pasta bar and late night snack feature was something we had never seen before and our guests absolutely loved them both! The bride and groom's request for a signature cocktail for the evening was graciously honored and masterfully done as well. All of the staff that evening were courteous and attentive and made us feel welcomed and special. The buffet lines moved very quickly with virtually no waiting, thanks to the competent and skillful staff and our guests were thrilled with the quality of the food. Overall, the Tangier is an exceptional, all-inclusive value that can accommodate practically any budget, and the end result is truly priceless. Angelica was with us every step of the way and we are so very grateful to her for making our event perfect in every way. We only wish it could have lasted all night, and we look forward to our next visit to the Tangier!

The venue is gorgeous, and really doesn't need extra decorating, which makes one less thing to worry about. The food is all so delicious (especially the stuffed pork)! The serving staff was excellent, and our bartender was fantastic. And the best thing was that the pricing was all-inclusive; we didn't have to worry about rentals or a separate bar cost. Angelica brought everything together. She is very professional and experienced - she has a great attention to detail and really turned my vision into a reality. My husband and I had a beautiful New Year's Eve wedding. We married in the wine cellar, used the bar area for cocktail hour, and had our reception in the Fountain Room.
Angelica is incredibly easy to work with and truly wants to make sure your day is exactly how you want it. Her customer service is incredible. She made the whole process easy from start to finish, and kept all guests and outside vendors on track during the ceremony and reception.
We highly recommend Tangier's and Angelica for any future events!

The ballroom is perfect because you can see everything that is going on. Also I like how the bars are inside the ballroom and not out in the hallway like other halls. The dance floor is big so plenty of room to dance and has nice uplighting around the dance floor as well. My wedding couldn't have gone any better and Angelica is so accommodating! Loved everything!!

ally if you are doing the planning yourself like I did, while working 2 jobs!)The main coordinator, Angelica, was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating; she made my life easier throughout the planning process. The space is gorgeous, we used the Caberet Room, which is spectacular and unique. PERFECT for us! The food is scrumptious, no matter what you order! I brought her my favors and a few décor items that I had made myself and her and the Tangier team went above and beyond any specifics that we talked about. The room looked amazing, I was blown away! They spent the whole evening making sure My Husband and I and all of our guests were accommodated. We had an absolute blast on our wedding day and couldn't have asked for a better venue, food, or coordinator for the reception!! They did a flawless job!

There are many thoughts, plans, wishes and dreams that go into planning your daughter's wedding reception. From the size of the guest list, to your budget, to the availability of vendors and venues. From our very first meeting with Angelica George, our plans were carried out with attention to all our wishes and with professionalism.
We were able to have an unforgettable reception with the Tangier. Cocktail hour in the fountain room with delicious appetizers, a sit down dinner for 450 guests that was served in under 20 minutes and a staff that catered to our every need. They offer so many personal touches that make that special day perfect.
We highly recommend the Tangier for all your catered events. We thank them for all those wishes and dreams they made come true for our daughter and son-in-law. Tangier is in good hands with third generation Angelica George.

our coordinator and the DJ, causing a waste of party supplies that wasn't even announced to our guests, and they would have never known it was there because it was placed in the back of the room. Pizza was brought in late night and no one knew about that either. Our food was taken away from us, and we never got to eat on our wedding day. They didn't ask us if we wanted it boxed up or anything, it was completely untouched. They did the same thing with the cake, and cut the pieces so big they ran out. It was very embarrassing to not have enough even though we had enough cake for 150 people, with 133 guests. I wouldn't recommend this location we were very disappointed.

Even thou there were two other events happening during my reception, the focus was entirely on me and I didn't even notice the other wedding or reunion! The Tangier is so huge its easy to see why. I would highly recommend future brides have your wedding at the Tangier. It was a night that my husband and I will never forget!

Our day ended up exactly like I wanted it. The staff was awesome. They set everything up, helped my mom pack up the car at the end of the night. Everyone was very courteous and polite.
Food was great.
They were very flexible with the items we wanted to bring.
Great service.
Great Coordinator.
Beautiful room.
Loved everything!
If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Tangier again!
