Even guests and family members were commenting on how wonderful he was. From the moment we arrived for the rehearsal dinner, he made us feel so well taken care of and his calm sense of confidence really helped us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The ceremony and reception went off without a hitch; the food was delicious and the servers were very attentive. Everyone says something is bound to go wrong on your wedding day, but thanks to the staff - especially Aaron and Heather - we really had the perfect day with no issues. If I had to go back and do it all again, I would choose them!

From choosing the menu and reserving rooms to tastings and even helping connect us with the bakery, they made the entire process feel easy. On the day of the wedding, everything was set up perfectly. I truly did not have to do a thing. I walked in feeling like a guest and was able to relax and enjoy the evening, which was such a gift. The food was delicious, the bar was well stocked, and the maître d’ was incredible, attentive, professional, and on top of every detail. At the end of the night, the staff even helped me pack up the car, which was so appreciated after such a big and emotional day. It was a magical evening, and my daughter and new son-in-law had the wedding they had dreamed of. I highly, highly, highly recommend the Thayer Hotel and its wonderful staff.

He ensured our wedding went off without a hitch and everything flowed beautifully!!! He made a stressful day a little more stress free!! I can’t imagine it being a better day!! The guests can’t stop talking about how much fun they had and how beautiful the Thayer hotel is!

From that moment on, she guided us through every stage of the planning process, from signing the contract to coordinating our food tasting and answering every question along the way. Her support and organization helped us feel fully confident in our decision to choose The Thayer as our venue. The entire team consistently went above and beyond. They were upfront, transparent, and accommodating to all of our needs, including my being vegan. They worked seamlessly with our wedding planner and every vendor, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable for us. We fully trusted the staff at The Thayer, and they delivered on every promise. Our wedding day was beautiful, joyful, and completely stress free, and we are so grateful to the entire Thayer team for helping make that possible. We would recommend this venue without hesitation.

er Osgood, spent months helping us get every detail perfect. She was patient, knowledgeable, supportive, warm and crafted an absolutely flawless wedding experience. Our maitre d', Aaron Falk, was OUTSTANDING from the rehearsal dinner until the end of the after party. Every single detail was under his control, and not only did he not miss a single detail, but he also did it all with humor and grace. The rest of the staff, desk clerks, housekeeping, bellmen,  banquet staff, the chef and the kitchen staff were incredibly talented, friendly and helpful. The food was SUPERB! I cannot recommend Hotel Thayer and its staff more strongly. It is unrivaled. My daughter, her husband, and my husband and I thank you all for the time of our lives!

She spent months helping us fine tune our wedding weekend, patient, kind and full of expertise. We never felt confused or intimidated by the wedding planning process as Melissa was always an email or phone call away to answer any of our questions, and to put our mind at ease. On our wedding weekend our guests were so impressed by the quality of food and the general kindness of truly everyone that works at The Thayer. Our maitre D Talia was absolutely a lifesaver and I am not overstating that the weekend would  Not have gone so smoothly. She anticipated our every need, helped answer our questions and was there with us every step of the way. I would chose The Thayer for my wedding venue over and over again!!

Without fail, it was the best day of our lives due to all of the hard work put in by the staff at the Thayer Hotel, especially Casey and Talia. The food and service during our reception was top notch, and we received so many compliments from our guests. Our guests are still texting us days later about how good the food is. The staff worked seamlessly with vendors and brought everything to life without any issues. Casey helped answered our many questions throughout the planning process, and Talia helped to coordinate everything during our ceremony and reception. We held our ceremony outside (miraculously, after a completely rainy day), and Talia made sure guests were seated and that it all went smoothly. The reception was such a fun time, and Talia made it all come to life. Now that our wedding is over, we couldn't have imagined a better place to have our wedding. The Thayer Hotel is truly a well-oiled machine, giving every bride and groom the attention they deserve (which is impressive, as I know there was at least one other wedding the same day as ours).

standing! The Thayer was a great location on the river, so many compliments!!! Originally when we contacted the wedding, there wasn’t supposed to be a home Army football game, the kick off was the same day and time we found out a week before! BUT you wouldn’t even know there was a game, everything felt like we had the hotel all for ourselves! We are so happy we picked them!!! I definitely recommend them especially if you’re living in Rockland County, perfect location!!!

Huge, HUGE credit especially to Aaron our Maitre d, who solved problems we didn’t even know we had. When our backdrop for our sweetheart table wasn’t able to be built like planned, he went out of his way and reconstructed it to work. He, along with the team, set up all of my DIY centerpieces better than I could have imagined, and when he realized I didn’t have enough signature drink signs printed, he printed more and found gorgeous gold frames to display them in. There wasn’t a single problem that was brought to mine or my husband’s attention until it was resolved thank to Aaron and his caring, professional work. This allowed for us to have a stress free of a wedding as possible! I wouldn’t have wanted to get married anywhere else, and our wedding reception wouldn’t have been as amazing as it was without Aaron or the Thayer! Highly, highly recommended!

Our wedding coordinator Casey took care of every detail, and was so responsive and helpful, answering any questions we had throughout the entire process. She helped us get clearance to go to Trophy Point - something I thought would be stressful, but Casey handled it all quickly and efficiently! I highly recommend getting married at The Thayer- it was truly a magical day and we are so happy we chose such a special venue.

The drinks were delicious with custom espresso martinis & margaritas, and the ZULU after party space allowed us to continue the celebration into the night. Her calm and organized presence was such a relief, and we were able to enjoy every moment knowing she had everything under control. Casey was a tremendous help throughout the planning process as well, providing guidance and insight that made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. y are a very flexible hotel. Jessica was so sweet and helpful in the planning process and made things so easy for us. Aaron assisted in a big way the day of and accommodated almost every single obstacle the day could pose. And the food? Outstanding! I didn't have a bad meal once while we were there. Top notch quality food. What a unique place to have a wedding. Every corner of the hotel is rich with West Point history and you can feel it. No guest of mine has ever been to a place like this for a wedding and more than once did people come up to me saying it was the best wedding they ever been to. I loved how convenient it made everything from having the ceremony, to transferring right into cocktail hour, to crashing in our room upstairs. This was truly a magical day and I cannot recommend the Thayer enough for your wedding needs.

s nothing short of perfection. The communication, kindness, and patience she has is unparalleled. She was always willing to answer my questions or concerns in a timely manner with a smile, consideration, and respect. I felt incredibly grateful to have had the privilege of working with her to plan my day. Our tasting dinner with both parents was incredible, our family still talks about it too. Food for a wedding was a point of contention, I was not willing to settle for mediocre, and Chef Chris did not disappoint. He was extremely accommodating for all allergies and diets and made us feel safe and comfortable in the variety of foods available. The staff and hotel on the day of my wedding were as professional as they come. The warmth I felt from their positive energy, and how thoughtful they were delivering service to my guests was well worth it. I had the privilege of working with Diana as my Maitre D’. She is such a breath of fresh air in all the decision fatigue and stress the day of a wedding. I was able to trust her judgement, she was so respectful to all guests, family, myself and my husband. Her communication and professionalism is top tier and I truly felt so relieved knowing my vision would be executed through her. She was there for my scheduled breakfast the day after helping me gather all my belongings and chatting with my family. The valet were so helpful and sweet, the rooms were spotless, and all my guests loved walking around admiring the history and architecture. The Zulu rooftop bar was also such a hit!! It was so good knowing that after my event all my guests would be safe and could still party up there if they wanted. The view is absolutely killer, nothing beats being outdoors in the mountains over looking the Hudson River. I am so thankful to everyone at the Thayer and so pleased to have had them as my venue and would do it all again in a heartbeat.

a. They checked all of our boxes as far as having enough rooms for our out of town guests, space for our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, after party, and day after breakfast. We were so happy to be able to have all of the events in one space so that no one had to travel throughout the weekend and we did not have to provide transportation. During the planning process the communication with Jessica was open and clear and she was able to meet all of our needs. She even went above and beyond what we were expecting in order to truly make it our dream wedding. Even though it unfortunately rained on the wedding day, the Thayer staff were quick in their contingency planning and moved the ceremony into an indoor space that turned out beautiful. Having the after party at the Zulu rooftop was also a big hit. The guest rooms, venue spaces, food, staff, and hotel grounds were all exceptional. Our guests still have not stopped raving about the entire weekend and we are so happy that we had our wedding at The Thayer!

s were well fed and the guests loved the BEAUTIFUL view of the hudson river and surrounding mountains. They also loved the whole unique vibe of the place, we even had rainbows! I kind of liked how some of the decor was a little creepy in a fun way in some of the hallways with some creepy castle elements such as gargoyles. Our point person was Jessica who was very friendly even though our guests asked me to email her frequently to book their rooms and ask questions, I also emailed her frequently regardless lol and she was always very responsive. Our wedding programs arrived late in the mail and the hotel offered to slip them under the door for us, which was nice. They also let me know if guests called in with questions about things that I should know about. She also is firmly on the brides side if any difficult relatives call in to make requests or changes. I'm a stickler for details, although everyone talked about how much they loved the wedding over and over here are my cons. I'm still upset they threw out my flowers at the end, I wish they had asked me what I wanted to do. I had beautiful peonies with delphiniums. The Maitre d' said he asked our planner (outside of Thayer who didn't remember I wanted to save them, I guess) so it was a combined effort of loss I think. I also did not tell him prior because I assumed she would remember. You are also introduced to him only a couple weeks before and by then I was not thinking of that. However, it rained earlier that day and the flower trays were water logged making them leaky I was told. An easy fix would be to just take the blooms and place them in some of the many vases we had around or just ask me. We also had a party night before, we rented a partially private party on the zulu lounge they had the choice of charging us 1500 or 3000 they choose the latter since they said it was prime time. I found that they could of easily charged us the lower price since we were brining in so much money for the place. We also would of bought twice the amount of drinks, if we had a proper bartender. The contract said we should have a dedicated bartender to our side which the zulu lounge was unaware of. I started to notice that our guests were waiting for a really long time to get served, really upsetting many of them. I'm not sure if the lounge was understaffed also adding to the issue. Several of the guests complained one of the bartender was rude, and that if they went around to the other side they would be served faster. We added on butler passed plates, the servers would make a half round to guests and then place them down. I felt they could of held them longer, since we had so many guests. The managers apologized about the bartending situation after we complained. I also noticed they didn't kick out a couple (not in our party) who were on our side of the bar before the party started and were still being served on our side. We had henna artists as well, a staff member at the end sat down for henna which I generally didn't mind. I would of preferred to be asked though since we were paying for the artists. However the staff member waited until no guests were not going there, so it was not such a big deal. I'm not sure if it was b/c our reception had such a live dance floor but it became SO hot in the venue the night of the wedding, they had to open the doors and guests had to go outside for air. I wonder if it is properly vented or if the air conditioning works well enough for large parties (we had roughly 140-150 guests). Also we asked for late check out because we had so much stuff in our room we had to get out (the bridal suite had stairs, which I think was my fault Jessica gave me the option of stairs and no stairs) and we went over noon by 10 minutes and they charged us 25 which is not a lot, but annoying. Also it rained on our after party and it was moved to the pershing room which happens but they were cash only bar, meaning no square for credit card, or even just writing a tab, that we could settle in the morning. By then guests were drunk and only had credit cards on them. Which killed our vibe a little. Overall the wedding was VERY well loved by a very high maintenance & international crowd and I would choose the venue again over and over again.

Special shout out to Krista, Marie, Gino, Chris and Aaron who were extremely kind and who went over and beyond to make our day everything we could ask for. Everyone, literally everyone, who came to our wedding have only good things to say. Zero drama. Zero issues. Literally from finding a magical crochet hook to accommodating a Filippino food station they made magic happen. These people made a profound impact that my (now) husband and I will never forget. Choose this place as your venue and do the room block- especially on game week- you will not regret it. Oh and be sure to ask for Marie Schuette as your planner and Aaron Faulk as your Maître D’. Together you're in the best of hands!

s were outstanding. Aaron, our maître d, was incredible- he ran the rehearsal, wrangled my bridal party, and made sure my husband and I were totally taken care of before, during, and after the wedding. Guests loved the rooftop bar after party and the staff were friendly and helpful. While I had the most wonderful day, there were a few snags that I think are important to point out for future couples looking to get married here: When you are assigned an event coordinator, if possible, request to have Chelsea Allen. My original coordinator, Marie, was initially responsive, but about 1 month prior to my wedding she stopped answering me despite multiple follow-ups and phone calls. 2 weeks before my wedding, I emailed to follow-up, and received an auto reply that she was out on emergency medical leave, with no coverage listed. I called the catering office and got a hold of Chelsea, who immediately assured me she would cover my event and took several hours to review the BEOs with me. Chelsea made me feel so comfortable and that my event was in good hands. Marie was originally supposed to be with me the morning of my wedding, but due to her leave, and the fact that Chelsea was not scheduled for the day of my wedding, there was no event coordinator presence the morning of my wedding, which was disappointing. Additionally, multiple requests that Marie told me could not be accommodated were handled instantly and with ease when brought up to Chelsea. To this day I have still not received an apology or email from Marie, even though we regularly were corresponding with one another for almost a year. I do wish I had Chelsea from the start as I think the planning process would have been smoother and less stressful. When I booked Thayer with the sales coordinator, I was told a perk of the property was that valet was included in the wedding package. A couple months later, after contracts were signed, I was told this was no longer true and that I had to pay a fee to cover valet for my guests. I paid this flat fee but heard from multiple guests that they were turned away from valet as the lot was full. To me this was completely unacceptable since I paid a decent amount of money to have valet, and it was a bit embarrassing to hear this feedback. We had gift bags for hotel guests, and my MOH overheard the front desk say they forgot to hand out some bags to those who checked in. The bags had invitations to a farewell breakfast on Sunday, so about 12-15 people did not get the invite (there were 6 bags left over and we made enough for all the rooms in our block). Overall, I loved my wedding at Thayer, and I really feel like it was a wonderful venue choice; however, I would highly recommend a wedding planner for those couples getting married here to assist with the planning process.
