Only downfall was the original process- communication was pretty rough and we found ourselves having to check in often to make sure things were good and would have to reach out 2-3 times before we got a response. But on day of they arrived on time with no issues and had exactly what we ordered.

en if you're not normally into cream cheese icing, try their cream cheese icing--it was *extremely* good. The only "problem" was that so many of our wedding guests loved the cake and went back for seconds, that we didn't have any leftovers! Overall we'd highly recommend them.

Thirsty Whale also had several gluten free flavor options, which was very important for some of my wedding guests.

I sent over a few pictures, she asked some clarifying questions, and the result was beautiful! I like surprises and seeing artist’s creativity, so I didn’t ask for a carbon copy of a Pinterest picture but gave inspiration and let Angie do her thing :) The result was everything I hoped for! The guests raved at the flavor and moistness of the cake.

y the quality and uniqueness of flavors available. We ended up with a three-tier cake for ourselves and three different flavors of cupcakes for the guests which was perfect for our large wedding. Each cupcake flavor was better than the last (would especially recommend the stout cake with Bailey's mousse filling!), and we received so many compliments from our guests. Our wedding cake was also stunning and designed exactly how we had pictured it. We'd highly recommend Thirsty Whale for your big day!

chose to do cheesecake shooters, cookies, cake pops, and mini cupcakes, with two flavors for each type of dessert. We were able to pick our flavors, and they turned out fabulous! They had absolutely no problem taking our vision of a desert/cactus theme and turning the cake pops into little barrel cacti, succulents/cactus on top of the mini cupcakes, and adding a cactus cake topper for our cutting cake. They all turned out SO beautiful. The option to have everything delivered and set up, with rental stands as well, made our lives so much easier too. HIGHLY recommend booking. The desserts were a huge hit!

t the lowest price in town! Seriously, our cake was half the cost we were quoted by other vendors who had awful tasting cake. Meghan was SO wonderful to work with! I sent her a few images of cake designs I liked and she took my vision and created a design that was absolutely stunning! We received so many compliments from guests not only on the look of our cake, but that it was the best cake they've ever had. Highly recommend them and plan to use them for any special event we have in the future!

was so easy to coordinate with to decide on designs, since we did a 4 tier cake, but I was absolutely beautiful. By far my favorite part of the wedding. It was delicious and we got so many compliments on the look and taste. The kids even loved the fondant and usually that's the first thing people want to take off! We definitely plan to have her make us cakes in the future!

offer great suggestions if you need! We had an idea in mind for our small wedding cake and we basically gave them the bones of what we were thinking and let them take the wheel. We were SO happy with the final result, they nailed our northern lights/Davy Jones ideas and everything tasted amazing!! Our only regret is not sticking with our original order, the week of the wedding in talking with them we had cut back on our cupcakes since we had a smaller wedding and I wish we had stuck with our original plan because the cupcakes were demolished in the first few minutes that dessert was served so some people missed out on the deliciousness! One thing to note – they no longer do donuts which was a shame because they were a huge hit at our wedding! Literally everything tasted amazing and we couldn’t be happier with our choice to use them. I’m looking forward to working with them for future birthday cakes, etc.

I really appreciated their attention to safe practices during tough pandemic times, and my now-husband and I loved taking a box of assorted cakes, frostings, and desserts home to taste at our leisure while enjoying a movie. :) Pricing is very fair here too, and quality is very hard to beat in my opinion. 2021). My beverage vendor had recommended them, as I told them I was looking for a bakery who could unique cakes beyond just a typical tiered wedding cake. The tasting with Megan, one of the owners of Thirsty Whale, was super fun! We got a little “sampler box” which was delicious. We ultimately decided to go with the following flavor combos for our tiered cake: lemon cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream; chocolate-orange cake with chocolate-orange fudge filling and chocolate buttercream; and amaretto cake with triple-berry mousse filling and vanilla buttercream. The flavor combos that the bakery can do are endless, but these ones were our favorites. I showed inspiration photos to Megan of my vision for my unique wedding cake: a tiered cake that had a geode in it with a crystal geode crown. Megan said she could make it happen and gave us a very fair quote as well. I was excited to see what she and her team would bake up for us. Fast-forward to the wedding day: the cake surpassed anything I could have ever imagined. It was just stunning and the amount of compliments we received on the cake from our guests was non-stop. Many people told me it was the most beautiful cake they had ever seen! It definitely is the most beautiful cake my husband and I have ever seen as well! And it tasted just as fantastic as well! We will have the most amazing memories of our wedding cake forever. I still am having my other vendors and friends talk about that cake!! Megan and her baking team are phenomenal and second to none. I am so thankful that she was recommended to us from our beverage vendor and I will continue to purchase future cakes and goodies from the Thirsty Whale in the future! If you want the best of the best cake and to knock the socks off of your guests, Thirsty Whale is the way to go!! Thank you Megan, Kyle, and Amber!!

s. Their cake tasting box blew my husband and I away, it was so thorough. They had so many options, we struggled to pick our favorites! Once we booked them, they were very easy to work with, and were very generous with their patience, as our guest list went through many COVID changes! We had cupcakes for the guests, and a small cake for my husband and I to cut, and even though I had no idea what I wanted on the cake, I was blown away by their creativity and simplicity. The design fit the style of our wedding flawlessly, and we were so happy to have chosen this vendor for our desserts. Highly recommend!!

It was beautiful! The guests LOVED all of the flavor combos of cupcakes and the cheesecake shooters. Also, we had to move venues at the last minute (covid) from MN to WI, and they were very accommodating and still delivered our cakes much further away than the initial plan, and they set them up beautifully. Highly recommend!

We cut down our guest list significantly due to COVID but decided not to alter our order figuring that our guests could take leftovers home with them ... I think there were maybe two cupcakes and a few slices of cake left for us to take home at the end of the night! All of the desserts were a total hit - would highly, HIGHLY recommend working with The Thirsty Whale (and The Elvis donut (; ).

e the beagles on the doughnuts looked just like our two beagles back home. I was honestly shocked at how many cupcake flavors they let us have for our wedding, and our guests have told us multiple times just how delicious every kind was! We had them make a two tiered wedding cake for the head table garnished with gold brush strokes and it was simply stunning - both elegant and clean. I highly recommend using Thirsty Whale Bakery for your big day.

lt like it was very affordable for what we got. Also, they deliver which was amazing to not have to worry about. The only negative is that the bottom tier was supposed to fade from navy to white and I thought the blue was very BLUE BLUE and not very navy but honestly, I cared when I first saw it and then forgot about it.

We had donuts, donut holes and a small cake at our wedding and I am still getting compliments on how amazing it all was. We rented a donut wall from them and it looked amazing! The only negative was that they did not leave any dessert boxes for us to take the leftover donuts in at the end of the night so we had to improvise with our venue. We also ordered our cake topper through a company they partner with and it was GORGEOUS! We found a design we liked online, sent them a picture and they created a custom piece for us. I will continue to support the Thirsty Whale and I would highly recommend that you check them out!
