This Boston, Massachusetts big band traces its roots to 1945, when Tom’s father, Roy, started the predecessor to this band as a teenager in East Boston. Tom has built a modern-day wedding-band juggernaut that is expert in pop, rock, R&B and soul, as well as present-day dance hits. And yes, they still play authentic swing music and can bring out original arrangements from the likes of the Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington and Count Basie big bands. With a repertoire that runs from Benny Goodman to Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra to Pharrell, this wedding band boasts more than 1,000 arrangements, both a male and female vocalist, and can provide DJ services upon request during band breaks to play any of the hits you and your guests desire. While this band can summon the full sound of a 17-piece big band, it also plays at whisper level when called for during a cocktail reception, dinner and other times when the band needs to stay in the background. Not interested in a full 17-piece big band, or need something smaller to fit into a more intimate venue? Tom also offers a 7-piece or an 8-piece, with a male singer or a female vocalist, or both, depending on what you prefer. For cocktail-party style weddings or very cozy venues, there is the Tom Nutile instrumental trio—or a quartet with either a male or female vocalist added, at your request.
