ocess went smoothly and was too our liking. She made suggestions when we wanted a different setup or different ideas for appetizers or desserts that were more unique and satisfied dietary restrictions! She even made suggestions for changes to make for the filet when I wasn't 100% in love with the flavor after our first tasting. She made sure to check in with us leading up to the day and ensured that everything went according to plan and that we could enjoy the weekend. Upon arrival at the Townsend, all members of the staff were gracious and helpful to myself, family, and friends. It was a great place for the bridal party to get ready and a beautiful venue for the ceremony and reception. We had the ceremony in the foyer - which was stunning and used the tea lobby and foyer for cocktail hour then moved into the ballroom for the party. The ballroom has recently been painted to a fresh white color and there is new neutral carpet so the ballroom feels updated and fresh. I could not have picked a better venue. We brought in linens, chairs, and other decor but also used several of the included pieces from the hotel for our event. Everyone loved the food and thought the hotel was beautiful! We had brunch in the Regency Room, which was perfect as well. From planning to the day of service, I was very happy with The Townsend and would definitely recommend this venue and give high praise to Ashley and her team!

erything ran smoothly. They were attentive, proactive, and genuinely committed to making sure every detail was taken care of—not only for us, but for our families, planning team, and guests as well. Leading up to the weekend, Ashley made herself available for multiple planning meetings, including additional time with our families and, importantly, close coordination with our planning team. Even though our reception was held off-site, the team at The Townsend worked closely with our planners to manage shuttle logistics, ensure all weekend events were timed smoothly, and handle many of the moving pieces that made the weekend feel seamless for our guests. The hotel also served as the location for our welcome party and as home base for our bridal party, with suites for both the bridesmaids and groomsmen. The facilities were elegant, clean, and perfectly suited to our needs. Catering was delivered on time and exactly as planned. Our guests consistently commented on how much they enjoyed their stay—the accommodations were comfortable, well-appointed, and made for a relaxing and luxurious experience. Behind the scenes, the team was incredibly good about working with our planners directly in addition to our family —from making sure all gift bags were delivered to the right rooms, to handling countless details we never had to worry about. Their attention to detail and commitment to service helped make the weekend a true success. We’re so grateful to The Townsend for playing such a meaningful role in our wedding weekend. They were responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in making our weekend special. m and Sunday brunch in the Clancy Room, all of guests were so impressed with the beautiful Townsend. Dozens of NYC guests stayed at the hotel and were delighted with service, ambiance and quality of the hotel. They loved walking around Birmingham and appreciated the fact that they didn’t need to drive/or shuttle around to the different events. Maia, from the events department, managed absolutely every detail we requested with professionalism and reassuring calm. She kept us on track with all the decision making, her suggestions were spot on, and she was so responsive and organized. Can’t thank her enough. The Townsend was everything we hoped for, and so much more: an elegant venue for our wedding and reception, a special luxury hotel for our out of town guests, impeccable food and service, all located in wonderful downtown Birmingham!

. It is great to be the only wedding at the venue (day of). It is a classic, timeless venue. Our guests that stayed at the hotel also had fantastic stays. We had the brunch the next day at the venue which was fantastic. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone in the metro Detroit area, especially if you want a hotel.

I was really excited to check out this venue as I had always wanted my wedding reception to be held at the Townsend Hotel. The woman we met with was not very friendly and gave off ...

the “you can’t afford to have your wedding here” attitude which was extremely unprofessional. Additionally, she had no other information to give us besides the menu print off you can find on their website, and then proceeds to tell us that their menu is changing next year but with no further info to give us regarding the changes or price increases. She told us she’d be sending us an email the following morning with more information that we had requested, but it has now been over 4 weeks and we never heard back from her. Overall, I was extremely disappointed in the service we received and the lack of information we were given during our appointment.

I truly applaud Townsend on their customer service during our wedding and reception. It was beyond exceptional! Of all the vendors we worked with throughout the wedding process, Merritt’s work, work ethic, and her compassion stood out from any one else we dealt with. She made the whole process so seamless and was genuinely nice. She took every detail so seriously and was on top of everything months in advance! I would recommend doing any event at Townsend because they really take the time and go the extra mile to make things exactly how you envisioned! Merritt, I cannot thank you enough and Thank you Townsend Hotel!
