David was great to work with. In our planning meeting, he provided many options for the ceremony, making the process very simple and even allowed us to implement our own verbiage from my husband's grandfathers bible. The day of the wedding everyone talked about how great he did, even adding a few jokes here and there to lighten things up. I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for an officiant in the Houston area.
David gave us suggestions for our ceremony, but he knew I wanted to write my own ceremony and vows. I sent them to him over a month before our big day. Fast forward to the day of the wedding....
He showed up at 4:55. My ceremony was scheduled to start at 5. Not to mention the fact that we called several times to get an update or location/arrival time and he didn’t pick up. He left us guessing when and if he was going to arrive. My fiancé almost had to announce at our wedding “is anyone here ordained?” We literally had no idea if he was even going to show. He had to get mic’ed up for our videographer and settled in 5 minutes. It barely happened. He apparently had another wedding in Austin (ours was in Conroe) and never told us. Why would he schedule another wedding in a different city on the same day and rely on traffic to behave?? It is beyond me.
During the ceremony, he screwed up a few times. I could tell he never rehearsed our ceremony. Hearing it at my wedding sounded like the very first time he had ever read it out loud.
He also schedules payments so that he gets the last part of the check on the day of the wedding. It’s a bit of an inconvenience since most everything is already paid for before the day. It was just another thing on top of it all that was like ...really?
I wouldn’t recommend going with this vendor.
Hiring The TX Wedding Guy for my daughters wedding was a great choice; as the officiant was super nice and very attentive to what my daughter wanted. In the end he came up with a ceremony that fit the couple to a "T". I would recommend them to anyone.
