We could not have been more thrilled with our wedding at the University Club of SF! Yvonne was wonderful to work with and was extremely helpful and responsive from the beginning. The venue was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the staff was great. The preferred vendor list also included high-quality talent who knew the venue very well and helped us feel confident throughout the process and on the day of. We strongly recommend the University Club of SF!

We had the pleasure of working with Yvonne to coordinate our reception at the University Club of SF. From the beginning, Yvonne was so friendly and had such great energy that it made us want to have our wedding reception there. The venue itself is absolutely stunning! Our guests loved the views from the top floor and was one of the highlights of the night. The food was also another favorite from the night. My husband and I highly recommend this venue if you're looking for that true San Francisco vibe :)

The University Club of San Francisco took care of all the details so that we didn't have to worry on the big day. I appreciate all the planning that the staff did and constant communications with Yvonne months in advance. They were responsive and very helpful in providing recommendations. I think that it was worth the expense to have less stress and fewer worries about making things happen according to plan. On the day of our wedding, the staff themselves were seamless and professional. I fully trusted their expertise and never once felt like I had to check the schedule. We never worried about resetting rooms, food setup, tables and chairs, and making sure our guests were taken care of. Thank you for making our day special and less stressful! My one notes is that it is very difficult to bring in your own food vendors. There is no flexibility on bringing in your own dinner caterer, and an extra fee for bringing in any dessert/snack/other food. The food at the UClubSF is also pretty expensive, so please consider this.

Opting for the University Club as our reception venue was a great choice, adding a touch of old-school San Francisco charm to our wedding. The venue's timeless atmosphere perfectly complemented our vision, creating an unforgettable backdrop for our special day. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the venue's classic vibe contributed to a memorable experience. Everything went off without a hitch, and we couldn’t be happier that we picked the U Club. We absolutely loved the University Club - it embodies a classic San Francisco venue, and provided a stunning backdrop to our wedding (so much so that we had very limited decor needs). We got compliments about the beautiful venue itself as well as the excellent food from so many of our guests! And the huge bonus is the staff/coodinators - we worked mostly with Gavin (and Yvonne) and he helped us get everything planned in the months/weeks leading up to the day. The wedding itself went so smoothly, and we know that is in large part due to all the coordination they do behind the scenes as well! Could not recommend this venue more!

We wanted to find a wedding venue that speaks to us, that reflects our personality and is reliable, since we know it’s a memory that would live with us forever. We went around the bay area, explored many venues, and even liked some of them, but when we entered the University club, we knew it was “the” place. With it’s classic and elegant design, it felt very homey for us. The place was perfect for many reasons: it was spacious enough since it had two floors, was in a very nice spot in the city, had a great view of San Francisco, had their own in-house catering which was very important for us, so that we don’t have to worry about the food and drinks logistics. And above all, we felt we were in good hands with the staff. Yvonne went above and beyond to make our dream wedding come true, by helping us with planning, being very responsive and very flexible with the changes in our plans. As we were getting closer to the big day, she was always in touch with us, making sure we figured out all the details and on top of all what needed to be taken care of. We are happy to say that we had a memorable wedding that we were very pleased with and all thanks to Yvonne and the university club staff. The food and drinks were beyond great, everybody loved it, and the quality exceeded a high end restaurant, even by SF standards. The staff helped us with all the extra decoration we got, guiding our guests and vendors and handling any situation that needed attention. All that came at a very reasonable budget, which on a score card, is very hard to beat here in the bay area. To the whole staff, thank you very much, and a special thank you to Yvonne, who we will be forever grateful to for all the great work she did before and during the big day. We are really happy to have the university club as part of our memory for that important day in our life.

Yvonne was a phenomenal partner to help plan and execute our wedding! We got married September 2023 at the University Club and things went flawlessly! She has a keen sense of what is important and what is not. She was easy to communicate with - she was direct and up-front about important things like cost and rules and timelines, which alleviated stress and cut through ambiguity. She worked with our specific requests without any kind of judgment or nudging to increase the cost of the wedding, something inherent to lots of aspects in the wedding industry. Yvonne clearly had a lot of experience with hosting weddings, and was able to manage many little details for us (i.e. how the space should be arranged for dinner, how much time is needed for a speech or first dance, whether our officiant should use a podium or a folder, etc etc etc). When you don't know what you don't know, Yvonne could be relied on. Lastly, Yvonne was really cool so having her around throughout the process was a fun little bonus! The venue itself was absolutely perfect! Really unique and elegant without being pretentious, and was amazing value compared to the many other places we looked. We tried more budget friendly DIY options but found that the services and cost at the University Club were well worth it. The food was phenomenal and drink service was quick and simple. The venue looked beautiful without any decorations, so it was simple to set the place up. Having the ceremony and reception in the same place simplified the logistics of hosting out-of-towners in a crazy city. The reception is intimate but has lots of different gathering places - on the dance floor, in the bar lounge, on the patio, in the pool room - such that everyone can move around and have their own place while it still felt like one big event. I would suggest to the University Club Bar to allow for a private stash of top shelf liquor for the VIP guests upon request, or to pay for, if it is important to them, as some people who like the expensive stuff were not allowed to have it.

The University Club of SF provided an excellent forum for our wedding reception. 97 guests fit very comfortably into their spaces, and the photo opportunities for both ourselves and guests were immaculate. Yvonne and her staff provided top notch service to Isabella and I, and made the night feel so special

We couldn't be happier having our wedding at the University Club in April 2023. The moment we met Yvonne we knew that the University Club was the right venue for us. She is so friendly, knowledgeable and relatable. We knew that she was going to make our wedding wonderful with as little stress to us! Yvonne handled everything with ease and worked so well with our other vendors so our wedding day went flawlessly. Everyone at the University Club is so friendly and accommodating. The head bartender met with me the day before the wedding to make sure everything was perfect and she made sure I had a drink in my hand all night. The front desk staff are so helpful and made our guests feel welcome all weekend. Our guests still talk about the delicious food they had. The appetizers are amazing and the prime rib/salmon station was a huge hit. My personal favorite was the mushroom ravioli, we want to come back just for that ravioli! Everything is made onsite so the food is hot and timed perfectly with the evening. Being a more all inclusive site saved us so much hassle, not needing to worry about rentals and additional vendors showing up on time. Knowing they've done this so many times saved so much anxiety! For being an upscale venue in the heart of San Francisco, they are a very reasonably priced wedding venue, with no hidden fees at the end! Pick the University Club and dazzle your guests with delicious food and stunning views of San Francisco!

Our entire experience with The University Club of SF was fantastic. Everyone contributed to their part of our wedding to the best of their ability, making our wedding as perfect as it could have been. The entire staff were very friendly and cared about our experience from the moment we booked the venue to when we finally left on our wedding night. Our day of coordinator and the event team were helpful, supportive, and fun to work with. Expectations were clearly laid out to us on what we needed to do and we felt supported throughout the entire process. Our friends and family loved the venue, their staff, and the food. There are no regrets from this venue!

We loved our experience getting married at The University Club SF. The venue is beautiful—has historic SF charm and stunning views of downtown—and the venue staff were all amazing. I have to give a special shout out to Yvonne. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and helped make our big day run smoothly. When issues arose, Yvonne proactively solved for the problems so that I didn’t have to even think about it. She also was extremely thoughtful—helped guide us through the day and even set aside some hors d’œuvres for us to eat since we missed our cocktail hour for photos. Throughout the process, Yvonne was responsive, easy to work with, and hilarious! The food at the venue was also great, and we really appreciated all the beautiful spaces we had access to during our wedding day. My only comment would be that the hotel staff was not the best—often absent, unhelpful, and responsive. I would recommend booking your hotel block at the Stanford Court Hotel across the street. It’s my CB more affordable and the hotel accommodations are more modern. We are still getting great feedback about the wedding and venue, and we are so happy with our choice!

The University Club was a wonderful venue for our wedding due to its amazing staff, unique space and location, and high-quality menu. As many reviewers have rightfully mentioned, Yvonne was such a wonderful partner in helping plan and execute our wedding there, and our wedding planning process was comparatively stress-free due in no small part to her. The rest of the staff, such as the office and catering staff, are also super friendly and professional. The space itself very much fits the Nob Hill aesthetic, and has multiple spaces for guests to mingle after dinner, such as the dance floor, bar, and balcony, creating a very dynamic environment. As big eaters, we wanted to ensure our guests left dinner heartily satisfied, and the University Club really knocked it out of the park. We served the rack of lamb and half chicken, and folks still remember and rave about the food. As an all-inclusive venue, the University Club ticked off all of our boxes - space/location, food, and price point - and still managed to surprise us by the high level of coordination and execution by their staff.

We held our daughter’s wedding at The University Club of San Francisco in January 2022. Yvonne was my first contact and remained my greatest support throughout the planning process, and during the wedding activities. The venue has an excellent vendor list if needed, but Yvonne and her team helped coordinate, and worked well with, the deejay, florist, and day-of planner that my daughter used from our home town. As the wedding day approached, the pandemic took an upturn and we were in a bit of a panic. But Yvonne and the event staff were there for us to make sure our guests and the wedding party were safe and comfortable. The entire event team was professional and attentive to our needs, and made sure the wedding went off without a hitch. The UClub SF is truly a one-of-a-kind venue with spectacular city views and gorgeous interior architectural details. The layout of the venue’s 3rd and 4th floors provides a seamless and convenient transition from the ceremony to cocktails, on to dinner and, ultimately, to the dancing and desserts without disruptions. The cost of the wedding was surprisingly affordable compared to other venues in San Francisco and the Bay Area, especially for similar locations on Nob Hill and Union Square. All of our guests were impressed with the beautiful interiors, amazing and personable staff, the excellent food, and incredible views. Thanks to The University Club SF, we were able to give our daughter her dream wedding on a reasonable budget. And Yvonne’s event planning experience was key in keeping our event stress free. We couldn’t be happier to recommend such a superb venue for any event.

While there are many beautiful wedding venues in the bay area, there are none quite like The University Club. It was the perfect setting for an elegant wedding that was also a great party. Our guests raved about the beautiful interior and stunning city views (so many amazing photo moments!). They couldn't believe how good the food was, and even guests with special dietary needs were able to eat their fill without worrying. We chose to have a buffet, but two servers made our plates for us so we could eat right away and frequently checked in on us during the dinner. They were so sincere and wanted to make sure that we had some time to sit back and relax and eat - and it was so appreciated. Yvonne Lau was there with us from the first walk through, to the food tasting, the rehearsal, and then the big day. Throughout the year prior to the wedding I would be bombarding Yvonne with different ideas and questions and she was always so prompt, honest, and helpful with her reply. Not only was she a saving grace to us as the couple, but she assisted our guests as well throughout the wedding ensuring that everyone had a good time and didn't miss our special moments. The bartenders were so professional and fun and seemed really excited to be there celebrating with all of us. I can truly say that everyone at the University Club who worked to make our day so special did a phenomenal job. We are so grateful that we were able to get married at the University Club and will treasure those memories forever.

The University Club was the perfect venue for our wedding day. My husband and I planned a murder mystery themed wedding and not only did the venue fulfill every need we had, but the staff was absolutely amazing and catered to our every need. When you’re planning a wedding, some things won’t always go as planned, but when you have a support team that helps you fulfill your dreams and wishes, there isn’t a better place we can have hoped to get married at. Although all of the staff is amazing, we do want to call out Yvonne Lau specifically because she was truly an angel sent to us for our special day. When other vendors let things slip, Yvonne was there to help pick up the slack, and she truly made every moment on our wedding day so amazing by supporting us and being there for us. We sorta half chose the venue because of how much we got along with Yvonne, but I can honestly say she was a major part in putting us at ease and bringing our unique wedding to life. 5 stars across the board for Yvonne and The University Club of San Francisco!

As mother of the bride, I am still in the clouds about this most gorgeous wedding and the happiness it brought to us. I’m still getting comments about how beautiful it was and more than a few said how honored they were to be invited. Really, the view and venue was fantastic the whole time. The guests were STUNNED when they opened the beautiful doors as my husband escorted our daughter to her now husband! Food was outstanding as the other reviews suggest (and our kids are “foodies”). Yvonne was our go to person for anything we needed and she was amazing from start to finish. During a very busy time, it was so reassuring seeing her in the corner of my eye attending to guests as they arrived. All the staff was incredible too. The bartenders, the servers, everyone was so friendly and efficient. Chris, who helped us with the room blocks, was AMAZING. So helpful! Stanley too! Thank you, University Club, for the wedding of our dreams!

The venue is spectacular with a view of the San Francisco skyline. The giant ceilings and vintage decor made it feel like a movie set, a true feast for the eyes. Yvonne Lau was such a pro. She helped make our wedding better than we dreamed it would be. Extremely helpful in such a natural and friendly way, by the time of our big day we wanted her there as a guest. We are still getting compliments on the food. Friends and family keep telling us it was by far the best meal they’ve ever had at a wedding. We were blown away when we did our tasting. The bartenders and staff were excellent and personable. If you get a chance to book this spot do it right away. It will help with your planning and stress knowing you picked the perfect spot.

Everything could not have been more perfect for our wedding at the University Club! From the first tour to the last dance they were a joy to work with; always prompt to answer our questions and patient with our concerns. They’re really the full package since they’re not only a beautiful venue for your ceremony and reception, they’re also your caterer, bartender, and supply everything you need that you might have had to rent at another venue (like table linens, chairs, etc). And last, but not least, the food blew us and our guests away. With many of them telling us it was the best food they’d EVER had at a wedding. You should get married here!

I cannot say enough good things about The University Club SF. It blew away my expectations on every level. The venue itself is incredible -- you feel like you are in a rooftop NYC building with skyline views and its one of those places that's beautiful (in an old school classic kind of way) that the decorating basically speaks for itself if you are someone like me who doesn't care much about decorating. The food was amazing, the bar was double amazing (its full service -- I walked in expected basic vodka-cran type of sitch and my friends were there drinking aperol spritz!), and the staff UNREAL. Yvonne was so on top of things and always so helpful. We didn't have a coordinator because we were trying to keep costs lows and between Yvonne and our wonderful DJ (DJ Aaron from DJ Jeremy productions -- highly recommend) we didn't need one. It also was shockingly affordable for the quality. I legit wouldn't care to go someplace fancier like the Fairmont because the University Club had everythign I wanted and more. Few pieces of advice: -- parking does suck so don't plan on using their parking. the Crocker Garage 1.5 blocks away was legit $12 for the whole day though. Our hair stylist freaked out about having to park a block away but no one else cared. -- get a hotel block at the Stanford Court across the street vs the UClub itself. UClub great for venue but the hotel is pretty dated. -- their vendor list is great although gets booked fast so reach out quickly. Esp DJ -- the set up is a little funky since the venue is actaully two floors (thats overall a plus!) but if you used one of their preferred DJs they set it up with zero problems. Overall, I would recommend the University Club again and again. I feel so lucky we were able to have our wedding here.

The University Club of SF is a phenomenal venue!! The staff are responsive, thoughtful, and experienced (the UClub hosts weddings almost every weekend, so reserve early). The location cannot be beat: it is in the heart of the city and the views are spectacular. The venue is clean, comfortable, and old-timey; it has genuine character. The food is excellent, and the quality was exactly the same in the wedding as it was in our tasting (which is impressive, given that we had 108 guests). Yvonne Lau and Jennifer Mitchell are true pros: they know exactly what works in their venue and what does not, but they're also accommodating and want to ensure that you have the best experience possible. This approach was consistent during our 2.5-year experience with them (our wedding was initially March 2020 and was rescheduled to March 2022). They are a kind, well-organized machine.

My wife and I got married at the University Club in 2022. We had our wedding rescheduled twice due to the pandemic but the University Club was incredibly flexible with rescheduling. Especially appreciative of Yvonne’s day of coordinator support. We had a mix up in time with our officiant and Yvonne proactively called the officiant to minimize the amount of delay. Everything (besides that) went like clock work thanks to their coordination. Food was also outstanding and unique - received rave reviews from our guest about the whiskey tasting, bacon bar and main dinner.

We're so happy we had our June 2022 wedding at the University Club of SF! We had to push our wedding due to covid and all the staff were incredibly accommodating. Yvonne was so great at communication beforehand and made our wedding day so easy and stress-free. We LOVED working with her. She is so organized, open-minded and SUPPORTIVE. We stayed at the venue's hotel along with a lot of guests, which made the day-of very convenient, especially considering we each had 3 outfit changes! We got so many compliments on the food - their kitchen is incredible. Every one of their staff (hotel, bartenders, waiters) were SO kind and welcoming to us. It was such a magical day and we are so grateful to Yvonne and the whole UC Club staff! Highly recommend!!

15/10. Shout-out to wedding venue coordinator, Yvonne, who’s THE best wedding venue coordinator, ever (said my Man of Honor, who’s going on 7 weddings 😂)! She’s more than the cherry-on-top that comes with the University Club! Truly, from booking to planning to executing our magical wedding day, the University Club team was superb. While there were some hiccups in hotel bookings for my friends and family, the head of bookings, Tenise, was always quick to the issues. Lastly, my husband and I picked this venue for the vibes, the staff, and the views. We didn’t even try the food until 3.5 weeks before the wedding. We figured, wedding food is never really memorable, right? But, wow. Not only were we amazed during tasting, the day-of food was even better! My guests are still raving about the food! No lie. I’d want to run it back, if I could. Extremely glad we went with the University Club + Yvonne!

There are no words to describe the perfection of our wedding. We were unfortunately affected by the pandemic and had to postpone our wedding. We chose to push it one year out and Yvonne and the whole UCLUB were EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING! All the changes went to the new date smoothly and everything leading up to the event was properly adjusted. When 2021 finally came around we were so excited to start the planning process again and with the help of Yvonne and the team it was perfect. The menu tasting was delicious and gave us a full scope of the evenings options. Yvonne provided great suggestions that allowed us to adjust our choices without having to taste them. Yvonne looped in Jennifer to help with additional support and she was a rockstar! She helped with my reception arrangement and all the decor. It was a true blessing to be able to explain my vision to Yvonne and Jennifer and have them bring it to light! The day before I was able to bring and store all my wedding decor, check in was smooth, and the front desk staff was more than helpful when it came to handing out guest bags and providing me places to store additional items. All my guests were in awe at how gorgeous the venue was. They loved the accommodations and the stunning sights nearby! The wedding day came and went in a flash and that is all thanks to the amazing support from Yvonne, Jennifer, and the staff. They guided the ceremony and everyone knew where to be when! When the ceremony was over Jennifer followed my husband and I with our apps from the cocktail service and it was the sweetest thing! Ensuring we ate and were were happy was the venues main priority and I am beyond thankful for that! The dinner and all the late night food was DELICIOUS! My guests raved about the food for days to come and the bar staff was the best! They were fun and on top of it all night. Shoutout to Stanley at the front desk- he helped my sister pull off the most amazing late night surprise ever! She set up our room with a huge rose petal heart and candles and a bottle of champagne. Beyond perfect way to end the wedding night in a romantic way! If this review hasn’t convinced you to have your wedding at the University Club then I don’t know what else to tell you…except that you’re missing out on the BEST venue in the city! Truly magical.

The University Club was an amazing venue for my wedding on 10/30/21. I cannot begin to tell how great it was working with Yvonne, Ashley and Jennifer because these ladies made my wedding day go so smoothly. I wasn't stressed and my husband and I were able to enjoy our day. The venue is gorgeous with an amazing view. But our selling point was the library which matched up perfect with our book theme wedding. The food is awesome and the bar is top notch. We had so many guests saying how great the venue and food was. I would totally have another event here. Technically I had two because I also had my rehearsal dinner there as well. Waiting 1163 days was worth it.

I used the university club for my ceremony and reception. My husband and I were looking for a place that had some history and that would really fulfill my dreams of a great gatsby wedding. The university club is absolutely everything. From the deep dark woods, to stained glass, the historical building, to the chandeliers and fireplaces. This venue was perfect. Paired with the burgundy and gold accents we chose for our wedding and honestly it looked like we were at a gala. Working with the university club staff was top notch, they are quick to respond and so accommodating. My guests can’t stop talking about how good their food was, and wedding food is normally so ‘blah’. I’m so thankful this is where we decided to have our wedding! Now this place will always occupy a special place on my heart because honestly the best day of my life happened here.

The best wedding decision we ever made was picking the University Club for our wedding reception. Emily and her staff were professional, kind, incredibly responsive, and went above and beyond to make our day special. The food is top notch, the venue is spacious and beautiful, and they worked with us to ensure we kept within our budget. Our guests raved about the view, the ambiance, and the food and drinks. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to make our wedding memories here!

This venue was AMAZING! My husband and I had both our ceremony and reception here, and worked with Yvonne. The process was GREAT! Yvonne acted as both our venue point of contact as well as a day-of-coordinator, which was SUPER helpful. She was so timely and responsive via email about our questions, our 1million google docs, helped organize tastings with the kitchen, work through our selections and choices, and was just generally really great leading up to the big day. On the big day itself, the process went SO smoothly that I had EXTRA TIME to just hang around with my bridesmaids! Yvonne made sure that my husband and I got a special plate of hor d'oeuvres to make sure we didn't miss appetizers, and she was on point all night to make sure things happened on time. The venue was a HIT with guests! People loved the classic San Francisco elegance of it all, and because the building itself acts as a piece of decor, we were able to do some light decorating and the place really stood out. Overall, we were so glad that we booked the University Club. It was the last venue we visited but we knew almost instantly that it was where we wanted to get married. Also, a bonus: the Tonga Room is RIGHT across the street, which made for a super fun and casual afterparty with the wedding crew!

The University Club is a beautiful venue, and we had a beautiful wedding there that we couldn't be happier with. The food was fantastic, views stunning, and overall decor amazing. The old-school SF vibes it has are wonderful and our guests loved it. Finally, the staff is super professional and easy to work with. Especially Olivia, who was very helpful and accommodating to our requests. She also helped make sure everything day-of went smoothly. We couldn't have been happier and easily recommend the University Club to anyone considering getting married there :)

Emily and Yvonne at the University Club truly made our wedding vision come to life! Everything went so smoothly! Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! They were extremely accommodating with food allergies and preferences and went out of their way to make our wedding unique and special! The University Club also offers 22 hotel room which was perfect for us and our wedding party (and a few guests). I really cannot give them enough praise! They were super easy to work with from start to finish (and we were planning the wedding from overseas!) Really the only word that comes to mind is perfection!

A beautiful location, with wonderful staff, and delicious food. It was the best day of our lives, and we enjoyed every second of it.

We’re so glad we decided to have our wedding at the University Club. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Here are some reasons why: -The planning and execution went really smoothly. Over the year leading up to the event, Yvonne answered our myriad questions and requests via email and during our walk-through and tasting. On the wedding day itself, everything went like clockwork. All the furniture, decorations, and food showed up in all the right places at the right times, and whatever behind-the-scenes machinery made that possible was virtually invisible to us and to the guests. - The location is superb. It’s close to Union Square, but far enough to feel less urban and to offer some pretty iconic vistas along the adjacent cable car routes. -The views of the city skyline through the massive windows provided a magnificent backdrop to the ceremony, dinner, and reception. It made the whole event feel super open, and it was a special treat for our out-of-town guests. At times, it felt almost as if the dance floor was outside and we were floating among the highrises of FiDi. -The food was terrific. After hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour (potstickers strongly recommended!), we had a buffet dinner. Our guests loved everything -- from the salmon and prime rib to the roasted vegetables and cheese tortellini. They plated the appetizers and dinner for us, so we actually got to eat some of the food! -The space is clean, well furnished, and elegantly decorated. Between the main hall/dance floor, the balcony, the game room, the bar, and the library, there are so many great spots for guests to hang out in. Having a variety of areas made the reception especially vibrant and fun, and gave people plenty of options if they wanted to take a break from the dance floor. -Being able to have both the ceremony and reception in the same place, and being able to stay over and get ready in a room at the Club, was very convenient -- it allowed us to focus on the main activities and people of the day rather than worrying about transportation. All that said, there are a couple of areas for improvement: -Some of the guest rooms were outdated. While the beds are comfortable, the rooms can be loud due to cable cars outside or events (like weddings) upstairs -Parking can’t be booked in advance and is first-come-first serve for an additional fee. Every time you want to access your car you need to check out/return a remote-control gate opener. Overall, the pros FAR outweighed the cons. If we could get married (to each other) all over again, we would absolutely choose to do it at the University Club!

We can't say enough about our incredible experience with University Club for our wedding! Our coordinator, Yvonne Lau made the months, weeks and minutes to the day perfect. We had the most amazing wedding held at the University Club of San Francisco. The event coordinator, Yvonne Lau was extremely helpful, organize and patient. The staff was amazing, super helpful and had great vibes. I am so happy we chose the University Club for our venue. The food was amazing. It was an unforgettable event! My guest had a wonderful time and they continue to talk about the event and venue.

Where to start! We fell in love with the University Club because of its history and old San Francisco charm, but chose it as our venue because of the incredible wedding coordinator, Yvonne. From start to finish, Yvonne was organized, responsive and full of helpful advice and recommendations. The Club itself is a beautiful building with many unique spaces that we took advantage of as part of our wedding. Besides the beautiful interior, the University Club's kitchen staff are truly five star - many guests told us that dinner was the best wedding meal they'd ever had (or meal, period). We'd 100% recommend the University Club to any couples looking for a timeless wedding with breathtaking views and a true San Francisco vibe. Our wedding was perfect beyond our wildest expectations and we have Yvonne and the entire University Club staff to thank.

My wife and I fought about the location of our wedding. The University Club of San Francisco was a little out of our budget. Thank goodness, at the end of the day, we decided to hold our wedding at the University Club because every penny was well spent. Yvonne helped to make our special day go as smoothly as possible. She was there to answer all of our questions and concerns via email quickly and professionally. As our day of wedding planner Yvonne was invaluable to us and gently guided us down to the last detail. We decided to try to cut as many corners as we could to save some money so we DIYed all of our decorations. Yvonne and her staff took our ideas to a whole other level and made the already beautiful venue reflect our vision. The guests were impressed by everything and raved about the classy yet simple appearance of the interior. They were even fighting over the hors d'oeuvres. Our photographer told us there was no shortage of amazing spots to take pictures. But he fell in love with the vibrant colors of the library and had us hold our first look there. Choosing the University Club was the best thing we did. If you're looking for a classy indoor venue with an amazing accommodating staff, look no further and book the University Club of San Francisco ASAP (they fill up quickly).

Having our wedding at the University club was the best decision we made. Everyone said it was the best food they had had at a wedding and we agree. Emily is an awesome coordinator and very helpful. Would get married here again.

We were recommended the University Club by a friend and couldn't be happier. First the venue itself is beautiful, perfectly located in the middle of San Francisco and offers breathtaking views of the city. We had a number of visitors from out of town and I think all of them took pictures of the city from the balcony. Second, the services provided by the University Club were top-notch. The food was amazing (we received multiple compliments, including from my uncle who doesn't like anything), there was never a line at the bar and so many little things were on point. Finally, and most importantly to us, the staff there was just perfect. Leading up to the day they answered questions, worked with our budget and had recommendations for vendors. Wedding planning is inherently stressful and the team at the University Club helped to keep that at a minimum. Then there was the day of. Just wow. Everything went so smoothly from start-to-finish. They did an amazing job of making the day magical for both of us This was one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. Hands down.

I can’t say enough good things about The University Club of San Francisco. This venue MADE our wedding. Not only is it an INSANELY gorgeous venue with an uninterrupted view of the San Francisco skyline, but also they were incredibly professional and easy to work with. Yvonne in their event planning division was amazing—I was an overwhelmed bride who didn’t know the first thing about planning a wedding, but she made the process easy and simple. She was reachable at all hours of the day if I had any questions and she had great insight into what was needed to make our day run smoothly. I didn’t have to worry about anything on the big day thanks to her! The food and drinks were DELICIOUS. The hotel accommodations were PERFECT. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at The University Club of San Francisco and can’t recommend them enough!!

Emily and the staff at The University Club were outstanding and beyond amazing. While there were (obviously) hiccups on the both sides in the months leading up to our big day, when the time came, Emily and her staff stepped up and helped coordinate a perfect wedding event for my husband and I.

Wedding planning is a stressful affair. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. But it's a great life lesson that if you surround yourself with the right people, you can do anything. That's a roundabout way of saying that to pull off a wedding in this day and age, you need a good planner. My now-wife and I are both physicians, so juggling our insane work schedules (lots of weekends, nights, and early mornings) is a frustration in and of itself. That said, Yvonne made a valiant yearlong effort of handling our paranoid late-night text messages and near-constant barrage of emails towards the end of the journey, mixing in her expertise as the University Club's wedding coordinator with humoring our petty demands on quite a few issues. From the start, she connected us with a number of vendors who have previously worked with the U Club, and this was an excellent idea as our photographer knew when to capture the best city skylines (seriously, the view from the club is absolutely insane) and our florist rocked the arrangements in the venue. Her encyclopedic understanding of the space (Yvonne has memorized the time of sunset for each month, since that's the best time to have the ceremony) and repository of prior wedding photos and vendors also allowed us to imagine exactly what our special day would look like. As for the club itself, the space is an extremely charming, historic institution clad in aged wood paneling, stained glass, and turn-of-the-century wallpaper. "Classy" is the appropriate adjective here, yet once the sun goes down, the incomparable views of the modern SF skyline from the building's colossal full-wall windows leave no doubt where in the world you're dining. And speaking of food, we chose options of filet mignon, Chilean sea bass, and a dizzying array of vegetarian (and vegan) choices, which were all marvelously (and artfully) assembled. All in all, we could not have asked for a more romantic, unforgettable location to say "I do". A huge thank you to Yvonne and the University Club for making our special day perfect.

Our wedding reception at the University Club was flawless. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed and met with a sophisticated level of professionalism by all staff. The location is perfect and the floor to ceiling windows on the 3rd and 4th floor provide a breathtaking view. The entire building is yours for the duration of the event and this (as opposed to a hotel wedding where you have one banquet room) was a huge selling point for us. We knew this would make our guests feel comfortable and gave us the freedom to really make the space ours. The elegant space, featuring large leather couches, beautiful wooden floors, 10 feet+ tall fireplaces, elegant chandeliers, and Library Room are reminiscent of a smoky steakhouse where you find yourself slinging back martinis with your fellow patrons. The drinks pour heavy and the food is exceptional. Order the prime rib - you won’t regret it! Yvonne and the staff are top notch. My husband and I are true native San Franciscans and it was important for us to show our guests what a San Francisco wedding can be. We contacted multiple types of venues (event spaces, restaurants, hotels, etc) in the city and not a single one of them met the level of service and responsiveness that Yvonne provided. She never failed to respond immediately to our never ending stream of questions. She even had no problem with us corralling a 15 piece brass band into the space. She truly left us feeling 100% confident for the day of. Yvonne really sealed the deal for us! If you want a worry free, beautiful, fun and memorable reception, we highly recommend the University Club as you will be blown away!

We checked out a few different locations in San Francisco for our big day and the University Club ticked all the boxes for us. We worked with Yvonne who was very flexible and easy to reach. Our guests loved the venue. We chose medium cooked fillet steak as one of our main entrees and got a lot of good reports about this dish from our guests. The guests also loved the balcony and view :-)

Emily and her team did an absolutely incredible job of making my wedding day perfect. The building is so charming and beautiful on the top of Nob Hill. The food, the decor, and then the staff all exceeded my expectations. I could not have found a better venue and I would recommend the University club to anyone that wants a stress-free, beautiful wedding with a killer view.

The University Club is the perfect venue. Our guests kept remarking on the fairy-tale wedding, as they overlooked downtown San Francisco from a vintage and elegant building. The first time we visited, my now wife immediately said "we've found the venue!". Everyone at the University Club went above and beyond to make it a memorable day. We had access to a number of rooms to get ready, the staff was courteous, and helpful with setting up. Some of our guests were also able to stay at the club for the weekend, making it much easier for our parents and family. As part of working with the University Club, you also have a day of wedding coordinator. Ours was Yvonne who is amazing! She helped us plan all of the details from the very beginning (we started about a year before). She would respond to all of our incessant questions, help us find vendors, set up tastings, and arranged for a number of walk-throughs. On the day of the wedding, Yvonne set up all of the ceremony programs, arranged the guest table, and once the event started made sure everything went smoothly. You have to use the in-house chef for dinner, however don't be discouraged. All of the food was amazing! During our tasting we had a hard time deciding what to pick, as everything was well plated and the flavors were fantastic. We could not be happier with the University Club and can't thank Yvonne enough for helping us through all of the stages! We would recommend working with her and the venue to anyone in a heartbeat!

We would choose The University Club a thousand times over again for our wedding. The venue a gorgeous, classic San Francisco, venue with beautiful sweeping views and the staff is even better. Yvonne is a total rockstar. Everything, and I mean everything, was taken care of from planning to execution and throughout the entire night. I really can't recommend this venue, or Yvonne, more. Having our wedding at the University Club of SF was the BEST DECISION we made!! As soon as we toured the venue, we knew it was the one. We were blown away by the elegant interior and beautiful city views. We also liked how there were several different spaces within the club that could be utilized during the wedding (library, game room, lounge, dining room) so that it felt like different portions of the evening could take place in different spaces. Upon booking the venue, Emily Mattison-Earls (director of sales and catering at the UC) was amazing to work with! She was super responsive, patient, calm, and an all around cool person to be around! Her help coordinating the logistics of our wedding day was essential and put our mind at ease. She went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding day was a rousing success and one of the best days of our lives! Her constant calm, helpful attitude and expert organization was a blessing throughout the various ups and downs over the 6 months of planning. We honestly can't thank Emily enough. She truly went above and beyond the call of duty to make our wedding at the beautiful University Club one of the most wonderful, memorable experiences of our lives! I highly doubt there is better value for cost for a wedding in SF than the University Club!

My husband and I got married at the UClubSF, and it exceeded both of our expectations (and the expectations of our guests)! It has only been one week, and we have already heard rave reviews about our wedding from our guests. We could not have imagined a better wedding experience - from the venue space itself, the delicious food, the smooth planning process with the venue coordinator included in the booking package, and our coordinator's high-quality vendor referrals. The venue space itself is unforgettable with its prime location and beautiful night skyline of SF. The venue space alone , with its historical feel and beautiful antique library, made our wedding so special and incredibly memorable for all of our guests - for visitors and local San Franciscans alike. Paired with the wonderful food and great wedding coordinator we worked with, we really could not have asked for a better wedding experience for ourselves and our guests! We chose to plan our wedding in only 6 months. Yvonne, the wedding coordinator at the UClubSF, did a wonderful job fielding our many questions and making us feel at ease undertaking such a big project in such a short timeframe! We had no idea what we were doing and didn't know any people in the wedding business. Having a wedding coordinator as part of the venue package was key for us! Yvonne was very open about venue pricing and gave us wonderful recommendations for vendors and saved us a lot of time with her high-quality recommendations. We could not have been happier with the photographer and DJ she referred us to (Sandra Fazzino Photography and DJ Jeremy Productions, respectively)! She also provided very timely response to our many questions and kept amazing track of all of our detailed requests! Our guests are not only raving about the venue, but also about the chef's cuisine, which was absolutely delightful! My husband and I are foodies, but booked the UClubSF thinking more about date availability than about the venue's food. We were a bit worried about this as we approached the tasting, but for naught! The resident chef at the UClub is incredibly talented and makes amazing, delicious food! Our parents and we were blown away by the delicious and beautiful presentation of the food at our tasting. I had to seriously wonder what I was going to order for our big day because each of the meal options were stellar. Our guests all loved their meals, too. One week after our wedding, we have already heard our guests say that it was one of the best weddings they have ever attended (and this is coming from older family members). They loved the food, the ambiance, the view, and the experience. My husband and I loved it even more! We could not be happier with our experience and would recommend the UClubSF to anyone looking for a unique, memorable San Francisco wedding that provides high value for the cost! This is a private members club - and you get the same white glove treatment as a bride. Thanks to great staff, a killer in-house chef, and fantastic coordinators, everything is effortlessly taken care of, leaving you to enjoy your day (and those city views!).

We recently held our daughter's wedding reception at the University Club, and the evening was utterly perfect. I don't think the reception could have gone any better. It all starts with planning: we worked with Emily Mattison-Earls who navigated us through the process and really took ownership for the event. She thought of every single last detail -- things that never occurred to us, but that made such a difference and really contributed to the comfort of our guests. She was just terrific. Then, the food! It was nothing short of wonderful. I'm a foodie, and I know when food is prepared well. We offered a beef, chicken, and vegetarian offering. I don't know how the kitchen did it, but about 100 people ordered the beef, and each one was cooked to absolute perfection. Our guests ooohed and aaahed. Even the vegetarian dish (risotto, which is also rather tricky), was delicious. There were so many compliments about the food. The service was courteous, fast, and impeccable. Also, Emily was on duty through the entire evening to make sure everything we discussed was executed. And at night the club is lovely -- the lovely old architecture is set off by the rich city lights. It was so beautiful! We're still getting compliments on the venue. We'll always remember the beautiful evening.

The venue exemplified the classic San Francisco theme we were looking for perfectly. The staff was attentive and the pre-planning was efficient. Our guests raved about the all the food and the view of the city skyline.

Beautiful venue, made for amazing photos. Love that the ceremony is on a separate floor from dinner, and then becomes the dancing space after dinner. The coordinator there was amazing and made everything go so smoothly. Food was amazing!!!!!!

My husband and I had our wedding at University Club recently. From the minute we stepped into the door, we were sold! (1) Great views - The Club is located on Nob Hill and has an unobstructed view of the Transamerica Tower and the financial district. The view, especially at night, is breathtaking and makes for some beautiful pictures! (2) Good staff - The wedding coordinator, Gail, was super helpful and answered all of my questions promptly. (Even when I sent her long emails with 10+ questions...) The wedding day itself proceeded strangely smoothly, which we attribute to Gail and the staff at University Club. (3) Convenient - The University Club has a small hotel attached to it that you can block out rooms at. Since we got married on a very popular weekend, having a building all to ourselves helped me not feel like I was just one bride in a sea of brides. (4) The food - All of our guests had very complimentary things to say about the food! We ordered a Thai style lamb chop that was so good, several of our friends devoted the cocktail hour to chasing down servers!
