I don’t even know where to start— Our wedding at The Uplands was absolutely perfect! We were lucky enough to be the first wedding at this amazing venue, and it completely blew us away. The bridal party had a gorgeous, newly remodeled space to get ready in, with tons of natural light, plenty of mirrors, bathrooms, and even a kitchen to keep snacks and drinks handy while they got ready. Meanwhile, the guys had the best time—no sitting around for hours waiting for pictures. They swam in the lake, went fishing, and just enjoyed the property before quickly getting ready in the afternoon.
The ceremony was out on the beautiful lawn overlooking the lake, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Afterward, guests hung out on the patio for cocktail hour, where we set up Adirondack chairs for a little lounge area—such a nice touch! The reception was inside the event center, which is not only gorgeous but also air-conditioned (a total lifesaver). Later in the evening, we opened the big barn doors, which made the dance floor feel like an open-air party and gave everything such a fun vibe.
Our guests had the best time—some walked along the beach, others tossed a football on the grass, danced on the patio, or just took in the sunset over the lake. The Uplands is such a special place, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue to celebrate our big day. If you’re looking for the perfect wedding spot, this is it!

Nestled on the shores of Norris Lake in Canton, IL, The Uplands is a rustic venue where you can host your wedding or other special event. Couples can rent the property for a single day or overnights or a full weekend buyout. Throughout the rental, the team will do everything they can to ensure that your special day is a success.
The Uplands offers 80 acres of property for you and your loved ones to enjoy as you celebrate. During the festivities, your group will be the only one on the grounds, so you'll have the full attention of the friendly staff. The fully furnished lodge has the ability to sleep up to 45 people in the 10 bedrooms and features high-speed WiFi, a kitchen, five bathrooms, a laundry room, a living room, and a great room. You can say 'I do' on the carefully manicured lawn with the sparkling lake as your backdrop. Afterward, you can hold your reception at the spacious event center, which boasts a full catering kitchen. Three huge barn doors open to create a seamless indoor and outdoor space. For more overnight accommodation, there are two high-capacity dorm rooms that sleep 25 guests. The 30-acre lake has plenty of activities that you can enjoy, like fishing docks, a jump platform, and a waterslide. Kayaks and canoes are available for use. Additionally, visitors can enjoy playing soccer, football, kickball, and other games on the sports field or basketball and pickleball in the event center.
The team at the Uplands would love to help you bring your vision for the big day to life. As the only party on the property, you and your loved ones can have their full attention during your festivities. Tables and chairs are available for use to make set up a breeze.
