Venue 116 and the staff were PHENOMENAL throughout the entire wedding process. I had many guests complimenting the venue and saying it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to! I absolutely recommend Venue 116 to any couple looking for a nice mix of elegant and rustic! The venue staff were polite, professional, and wonderful overall on our wedding night. Throughout the planning process I worked with Katie, who was SO patient, kind, professional, and flexible with her time. We live 3 hours from the venue, but she was more than willing to accommodate in person and virtual meeting times that worked for us. I am also not the most decisive person, however Katie was unbothered and very patient with me when making decisions, while also kindly providing input when asked! The owner of the venue was also very kind... despite our minimal interactions, they still went above and beyond behind the scenes for us to make sure we had what we wanted/needed for our dream wedding. I wish I could re-marry my husband at this venue every year!!
We had my wife's birthday party at this venue, while it is nice and located away from the busy city life, the owner of the venue who micromanages made life miserable for us. She was very restrictive and did not allow us use things agreed upon during planning and not clearly spelt out in the contract. From charging significantly higher than commensurate labor to move their chrictsmas tree off the stage to looking every possible contractual loophole to keep and not refund our security deposit 6 weeks after the event despite multiple reminders. While the staff may be nice, I do not recommend this venue, if you have to use it, watch out for the owner exploiting you unless there is something about us she doesn't like.
Melissa, Marlene, and Jen are fantastic! They really take care of their couples, they’re quick to respond to emails or texts, and you can see how much they love their job! The venue is extremely pretty and has a lot of space inside and outside. My guests loved it and we are so glad we went with the Cotton Gin.
Such a unique space that flows so well for weddings and receptions. It photographs BEAUTIFULLY. If you care about your wedding photos and love the idea of a more rustic, historical. backdrop to your photos, this is a great place.
Cotton Gin No. 116 is an absolute gem! My husband and I enjoyed our wedding at this stunning and unique venue on May 1st. From the beginning, Melissa was a dream to work with. She is professional, calm, efficient, and an excellent communicator. Working with the excellent staff at CG116 was especially important, as we planned our wedding from out-of-state and our extent of being able to see the venue before the wedding was a virtual tour!
This venue felt like the perfect fit for our wedding as my family produces cotton and the location of the venue had special memories for my husbands' family - it felt like fate! So many of our guest commented on the beauty and uniqueness of our chosen location. The CG116 staff was not only great to work with leading up to the event, but communicated well with other vendors and made the day of the event go smoothly. We ended up needing to move our ceremony indoors due to a rain earlier in the day - we were impressed with their quick switch to our backup plan and how smoothly the turn over went from ceremony to reception.
A huge additional perk of using this venue is their decor closet, available to all booking couples! Outside of florals, we brought VERY LITTLE additional decor, which not only saved us a lot of money but also made these so much easier as we would have had to haul decor across the state.
Overall, I am absolutely happy with the experience we had hosting our wedding at Cotton Gin No 116 and would wholeheartedly recommend the venue.
We recently got married at this beautiful venue. It was fantastic, the staff did a great job assisting us every step of the way! Definitely worth every penny, it is a little gem hidden in Brookshire TX. Absolutely loved it!!
We got married at this beautiful venue and were extremely happy with our choice. The venue itself is really pretty, with lots of areas that make for great photos. Working with Marlene and Melissa was a good experience, they were extremely, professional, quick to respond, and worked really well with our wedding planer to make our day unforgettable. We loved this venue. Bonus points for the beautiful bridal suite!
I am the founder/lead planner of Ashley Rachelle Events and had the pleasure of working with Melissa & Marlene at Cotton Gin No. 116 this past weekend for my client's wedding. These ladies are fabulous to work with, always available when I had questions, and we're extremely helpful day-of. The venue is historic and super cute, and I highly recommend the Cotton Gin! I can't wait for the opportunity to work with them again!
Where do I begin?! My husband and I got married at the Cotton Gin last July and it was perfect! We did the all inclusive package with A Perfect Events and it made everything so easy! My husband and I are both originally from out of state and we didn’t want our family who was already flying in, to have to help put the wedding together as well. Using the all inclusive, Helen brought my dreams to life! I would send her photos from my Pinterest board of things I wanted for center pieces, the aisle, and even an archway, and she made it happen. The venue itself is a gorgeous backdrop and needs minimal decor, but with what was put together by Helen, it put it over the top! The food that was included in our package tasted amazing as well! All of our guests raved about the venue and the food. I couldn’t of picked a better place with the most accommodating and helpful staff. Truly, the wedding of my dreams!
It has been 2 months since we got married at the Cotton Gin No. 116 and we are still amazed by how perfect our wedding was. Helen and her team went over and beyond for our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception. Cole and I fell in love with this venue the moment we walked into the Cotton Gin. Helen is very professional, has an eye for detail and wants to give you the wedding of your dreams. Helen was there every step of the way. Our rehearsal dinner was fiesta themed and amazing! The food... was absolutely delicious! We could not have asked for a more beautiful day for our wedding. The outdoor ceremony was perfect and everything we wanted. Our friends and family were raving about the venue, decoration and food for days! The price for the package is unbelievable and includes so much. I highly recommend The Cotton Gin No. 116 and you will not regret having your special day at this beautiful venue! Helen and the Cotton Gin hold a very special place in our heart.

1 month ago we got married at Cotton Gin No. 116, the most romantic, historic and magical venue. There was nothing normal about our day, everything was exquisite. There is something extraordinary about planning a dream, and executing a vision and we will be forever grateful to the them for making that happen for us. Every tiny little detail we wanted, they wholeheartedly did for us. Not only is it an outstanding location, Kim and Helen are really wonderful humans. Each one of our guests felt so welcome, and we all just felt true love and happiness that day as we celebrated our highly anticipated marriage. Our ceremony was crafted for us and felt so authentic, and our reception was the best dance party we could ever ask for! The food was absolutely delicious and we felt welcome every step of the way. Helen made sure all the many details for our tables and decoration looked as we wanted, and all of our flowers were beautiful! and deliciously wild- like us. All our guests were complimenting the unique venue and its broad history, and we left in total bliss that night. A simple thank you will never be enough: Cotton Gin No. 116, we <3 you,
The Butcher and The Artist.
When it comes to your wedding venue, every couple wants to find their dream venue that reflects both the bride and groom and that's exactly what the Cotton Gin No. 116 is to my fiance and me. It is beautifully rustic but yet simplistically elegant. We had looked at a small handful of venues before the Cotton Gin and after a soft opening of the venue, we fell in love at first sight with it. There's so much history to the venue that you can't get from other venues. For example, the Cotton Gin itself has been restored so you can actually see how cotton was made. It is a really unique lobby area that will make for a great cocktail hour. My fiance and I are excited to have our family and friends hang tight in that lobby with a cocktail in hand and take in the experience. It truly is a one of a kind sight and learning experience! Kim and her family have put in hundreds upon hundreds of hours to make this venue notable and it is. They even kept the actual wood from the original building to repurpose as flooring. The history of not only the business and building but Kim and her family did it for us. This venue truly thinks of everyone like the bridal party as there is a gorgeous bridal suite, kids attending as there is an outside play area, the history buffs with museum-like displays of the gin, the foodie who will fall in love with a customized smoker outside that is shaped like a train and caboose. The little touches are what you're going to love. Kim has been exceptionally great to work with and we are looking forward to celebrating our nuptials here. Kim and Helen (you'll meet Helen if you choose to utilize their all-inclusive package) have worked diligently to bring our vision to life and have far exceeded my wildest expectations. Helen is even working with my severe dietary restrictions and is very accommodating. With my restrictions, my fiance and I are unable to do a traditional cake for dessert so we had a wild thought of making a replica of our alma mater's football stadium, Kyle Field, and using that as a case for our cookies and little bites. Kim was all about it! She truly has a heart for what she does and it flows through her work. She makes sure that even the littlest details that mean the most to you and your fiance are done. We are very much looking forward to celebrating our reception at the Cotton Gin 116 and we highly recommend taking a chance on this venue because its charm and elegance are something that out of this world.
Where to start....there are so many wonderful amazing things to say about this place and the people that run it I don’t even know where to start...let me first say that I was hooked on this place from the moment I walked in the door and saw such originality and beauty I knew I didn’t need to look any where else...we had my sons and his now wife’s rehearsal dinner here at The Cotton Gin No.116 and it was hands down the most beautiful event of any kind I’ve ever seen!!!! Working with Kim Montgomery was such a delight...she literally either had everything I needed or got what ever I needed and the entire event went perfectly smoothly without a single hitch and it was the first event for this newly rebuilt Cotton Gin!!! I honestly can’t say enough good about this place and it’s unique beauty...for us there was a special connection on top of this unique venue which is the fact that I come from a family of cotton growers and my son whose rehearsal dinner was here is in the produce business now and has his own cotton fields and pockets and ginning equipment so that was just another plus for us but the attraction to this place went way beyond that....I would reccomend this place to anyone for any occasion!!!! A big thank you to Kim Montgomery for making this special occasion for us a perfect night!!! ❤️
My fiancé and I were absolutely blown away by this gorgeous and unique venue. Kim was super welcoming, friendly and helpful when we toured. We ended up booking for our wedding, and we are so excited to have our special day there! This is a hidden gem. I would absolutely recommend the Cotton Gin No. 116.
One of the best kept secrets in West Houston! Every detail has so much thought and love put into it. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an industrial chic venue that guests will always remember. There is a mini museum in the front area which the perfect cocktail hour room. Kim, the manager is so sweet and accommodating as well. Also the fact you can bring in your own vendors is awesome and it even has a small playground area so it’s great for kids too! We also really loved the landscaping- 5 stars!
